Can't Connect Wifi Devices To Wired Devices?
Jun 25, 2011I have been unable to connect to anything on my wired network, for about the last week. I don't remember making any changes however, I just became unable to connect.I having done a little troubleshooting.1. I can connect to the shares of my Windows Home Server if I use the IP address. The name does not resolve.2. Flushed DNS and restarting DNS server. Flushing DNS works on one client, to allow browsing by the name & restarting DNS works on the other. However neither works after a restart.3. Only my Wifi clients are experiencing this issue. My wired clients, desktops, PS3, Xbox 360, and Boxee can connect perfectly.This issue is not limited to my server. I can't connect to shares on my desktop, nor print to my wired printer.Some network background:I have DSL through CenturyLink and have a Linksys E2000 router.

Jun 19, 2011When I attach any USB storage devices to my laptop (eg memory sticks, 1TB Seagate standalone drive, internal drive mounted in external usb chassis) I get a Code 32 error in the properties panel saying the drivers are disabled. All the devices show the following drivers:

c:WindowsSystem32DRIVERSpartmgr.sys

These all look like pretty standard drivers. A possible item of interest is that I have been pretty aggressive about turning services to manual or disabled at boot to get my computer to run faster. Which driver is disabled and how do I enable it or otherwise fix this?

Windows Boot Selection
Jun 11, 2009I have a strange issue haunting me. On a dual boot PC (Windows 7 x86 and x64 the OS selection (Windows Boot Manager) will not allow me to select with the arrow keys. Also the enter key will not allow bypassing the timer. I recently reinstalled both OS but it never worked previously when I had Windows 7 x86 and XP x64 on a dual boot.
During the install, during the several restarts that occur when you are doing an install it will work and I could select but now I cant. The keyboard is a USB keyboard with wireless mouse.
Any ideas?
OS Selection Screen Is Blank?
Jan 27, 2011for work, i am making a few Wim files to deploy different versions of windows 7.everything is setup and merged my multiple wim files together. the issue i'm having is when i come to the "Select the operating system you want to install" screen. it shows up blank but i can still select the many versions. it's like i didn't edit a file or add detail somewhere. picture below

Well, I have some questions... first, regarding the boot screen when I turn on the computer. I've installed Windows XP SP2 this way: Deleted all the partitions on my hard drive, then did two partitions from the installation program of the CD, then I installed Windows XP in one of the partitions, then I installed Windows 7 in the other partition.
So, I have two SO's running, but, when I turn on the PC only stars with Windows 7. There is no OS selection screen at the very beggining. What could be the problem?
Second, and regarding with graphics. I'm running Win 7 in a HP 530 Core 2 Duo 2GB RAM and this: "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, up to 224-MB shared system memory". When I turn on the slideshow as a Desktop Background, sometimes I see weird lines and the transition is not as smooth. Also, I've installed Warcraft III Frozen Throne and when I play, I see some dark flashes and lines.
This happens because of the "beta" not handling well the GMA 950?? I'm using the drivers that came on with the Windows 7, however, I think I've updated them via Windows Update since it seems that HP and Intel are friends with Bill Gates.

Jan 23, 2012My PC had a single hard drive with 300Gig. (I will refer to it as original HD64) Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed. Worked fine for a year or two. Eventually started crashing randomly, attempted lots of fixes but was reliably informed that it could be my hard drive. I decided I would be best with a new HDD and a fresh install. Bought a new hard drive. 250Gig (Will refer to it as new HD32). Unplugged originalHD64 from sata cable and power. Plugged in newHD32 into sata cable.
Inserted bootable USB flash drive with windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on it. Went through full install including partition creation etc. Install crashed part way through but I think the dog knocked the power lead. Restarted install. Everything seemed to install fine. Plugged in original HD64 into second sata slot. Changed boot priority to New HD32. Booted fine.
Clicked on >Computer and found new HD32 as C: drive and Old HD64 as D: as I wanted it to be.
So far so good. But on next boot the CHKDSK thing ran. Then it booted ok. CHKDSK ran on next boot also. Then I managed too boot normally but realised there were a couple of things not working properly in the fresh install. Things like Windows Picture viewer would not open anything at all and a couple of other issues. And it was especially annoying that CHKDSK kept running. I asked for advice and was told that I should probably just format the new HD32 and resintall from fresh incase the install had somehow gone wrong.
So, I changed the boot order to Old HD64 and logged into my old windows OS which I had left installed in case anything went wrong. From there I navigated to disk management and formatted and repartitioned the NEW HD32 disk. Now I unplugged Old HD64. Plugged in bootable USB flash drive and tried to follow the exact same steps as I followed last time. But instead of going through the windows install I just get ... "The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible" (and some other text viewable in the following link).

So I reboot.
Press F8 to select boot device.
Choose USB flash drive.
I have unplugged the New HD32 and plugged in the old HD64 and done the same thing just to test if its a HD issue but I get the same problem.
Windows 7 And XP Twinload Selection Choice

I wan't to know if I go through with this, will XP still be selectable in the Windows 7 boot menu? And if not, how to remedy this.

The files & directories stay selected. Double clicking will attempt to open the lot. Very annoying behaviour. Right click on the desired item gets me out of trouble. ANy selected files are deselected and I can then use right click option menu's Open item.

Reformatted SSD - Programs And Features Selection Empty
Sep 3, 2012I have a custom PC for the past year and my main Windows 7 boot drive was giving my some aggravating problems. Board is an EVGA P67 SLI with a Crucial C300 128GB SSD as the main boot drive in the SATA3 location. I've seen MANY cases where people were having some slowing speeds with the drive and I finally came along with that problem as well, and since I only use the drive to boot up I figured a reformat would be a nice way to simply start over.
Regardless, I have 2 other mechanical hard drives one in which stores everything from Steam Games to Ventrilo and other software. The other is simply used for personal things like Pictures, Music, and Videos. My "Programs Drive" is simply like the "Program Files" of your typical C: drive really. Everything I can put on that one goes on that one and basically I use the SSD for the start up times since P67 doesn't support caching like the Z68s do.
My issue is, now that I've reformatted my main SSD drive when it comes to playing my games I'm only able to play whatever is through Steam. If it isn't through Steam then it simply doesn't run. Even when I actually try re-installing it again just for registry purposes it doesn't go through. Obviously my "Programs & Features" selection is a bit empty right now because nothing is registered on my main drive. Should probably look into doing that at some point as well with Steam and all of the installed games.
Multiple Audio Output Selection And Bluetooth?
Sep 9, 2010I have a BLUEETOOTH dongle attached to each of my 3 systems. I use BLUETOOTH as my default audio device The sound quality is great.(Far better than that of a laptop.) I have a BLUETOOTH reciever attached to my stereo system, used for streaming PANDORA radio. I also have several other portable BLUETOOTH recievers, one of which I like to use outside on the deck. Why is it that WINDOWS 7 only allows 1 audio device to be used at a time. I would like to stream audio to multiple BLUETOOTH devices, but WINDOWS 7 does not allow that. When right clicking on the speaker icon to bring up "playback devices", only one device is allowed to be set as default! Also, if I want to pair with a second device, a pop up window tells me that I must first disconnect the device that is already paired, before I can pair a different device.
