I have 2 computers of Windows 7, in one of them the selection color of the mouse is lightblue with a blue border, but in my second PC, the filling is transperant and the border is a grey broken line like in the image. I'm not looking to change the selection color in the Yellow Arrow. I'm looking to change the selection of the mouse like pointed in the Red Arrow .
When im playing any intensive game like Bf3 or Arma 2 windows changes my color scheme to windows basic because "Performance is too low". My computer is really good and the games aren't lagging at all.
I'm upgrading from Vista Home Premium (64-bit) to Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) and I think it is almost done (the last step I remember was the last one on the list). However, when it restarted, the screen is now changing from red to bright green, to blue, to gray, darker gray, gradient white/gray, black, and repeat. Is it supposed to do this? It seems like the hard drive is still active as the indicator light flickers, but I haven't seen any tutorial that mentions this happening. It kind of looks like the colors are being tested or something but it's been going on for maybe 20 minutes now?
I would like to change the color scheme of Outlook 2003 and Word 2003. I am running on Windows 7 but there does not seem to be an option to alter the color scheme of the programs. I can change the Windows theme but not the color scheme of the programs like Outlook and Word. Is this not possible anymore or is blue the only color available?
Is it possible to easily change the taskbar's font color (buttons + clock)? I can't believe I can have a solid white background with white fonts on it.
In Office 2003, users were able to change the colour of an individual Calendar entry which was within a series. As far as I can see Office 2010 does not allow this.
sometimes i accidentally hit my mouse pad and the cursor moves and it changes my fonts form large to small ..i have to change it back by going to "view" is there another way i can touch the pad and correct what has happened
This isn't a problem per se, but I'm curious to know if it's possible to change the login screen mouse cursor. It's just the boring plain white arrow. There's probably a registry setting for it but I don't know where. A google search turned up nothing useful. It seems it's not something that interests many others. I'm running W7 Home Premium.
I also wanted a real mouse, so I got a Microsoft wireless mouse (USB). Now, I mouse right handed since I am more used to it, so while the IntelliPoint software was installing, I changed the mouse settings back to default. I figured I would just go and change the settings whenever I didn't want to use the mouse.
But when the software finished installing, I found that the Control Panel Mouse window changed! Now, even when the mouse is unplugged, the place where I had been able to change the button settings is a new window that is specific for this mouse! Plus, these changes don't affect the UltraNav, so those buttons are still set for right-handed.
I want to color calibrate my new Dell XPS 15z laptop, but before I do I'd like to back up the existing color profile in case I prefer it to the calibrated one ...
The only problem is, when I open Color Management, NO default color profile is listed, so I don't know what to go back to. I know there HAS to be a default color profile somewhere ... How do I find it?
I am trying to set my monitor's screen give accurate renditions of my pictures. I use Quick Gamma to set gamma. When doing this I can use either Nvidia's controls or windows controls (right click desktop>Nvidia Control Panel. When using Nvidia's Control Panel, there are two choices: Use other applications control color settings or Use Nvidia settings. Am I correct in assuming that the former setting is Windows? I always check the button to use Nvidia settings (and then Apply>OK), but when I go back to this screen at a later time, the Other applications control color settings is always selected. I'd like to default to Nvidia.
I have found a pointer that I want to use in my Windows 7 environment, it is the airplane pointer used in Secret Weapons Over Normandy. Can anyone tell me how I go about this? It appears the cursor file in the game folder is a .bin file without a picture while windows cursor fies are .cur and have a picture in the file listing.
I have a strange issue haunting me. On a dual boot PC (Windows 7 x86 and x64 the OS selection (Windows Boot Manager) will not allow me to select with the arrow keys. Also the enter key will not allow bypassing the timer. I recently reinstalled both OS but it never worked previously when I had Windows 7 x86 and XP x64 on a dual boot.
During the install, during the several restarts that occur when you are doing an install it will work and I could select but now I cant. The keyboard is a USB keyboard with wireless mouse.
I just installed win xp though i also have win 7 in separate drive...and my problem is that i have not been able to log on to win 7 after installing xp....because os selection does not show win 7 but only win xp....
At present, I'm running a dual-boot of XP Pro and Vista Home Basic. I wan't to overwrite Windows Vista with a clean install of Windows 7, rather than an upgrade. I wan't to know if I go through with this, will XP still be selectable in the Windows 7 boot menu? And if not, how to remedy this.
This all started whenever I wanted to change my text size different by changing my DPI settings. What I did was right click, go to screen resolution, and clicked on "Make text and other items larger or smaller". From this I changed it to 100% from 125%. I noticed it had changed my font size to the 100%. It then made everything SUPER small when I changed my theme settings.Whenever I right click and go into personalization settings, I do the usual customizing to my likings. Since I want to save the theme, I do so by naming it, blah. Now I want to use the blah theme by click on it, and I do so. Everything is fine and dandy until I right click my desktop to refresh(out of habit). This is the before and after of the font sizes.
Before After
My workaround was to set a custom DPI setting, log off like it prompts me to, then changing it back to 100%, again prompting to do so. It is so annoying to do so.
I have a pc that has been running windows 7 pro fine for a couple of years. Today it wont boot stopping with the message: "Windows failed to start.A recent hardware or software change might be the cause."
To fix the problem: 1.Insert windows installation disc and restart your computer 2.Choose your language settings and then click "next" 3.Click "repair your computer".
If you do not have this disc contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance. Status: 0xc000000e Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
This machine has only one dvd drive and one hdd. I have checked the boot list in the bios settings and the cd drive is first then the hdd second. If I insert the windows 7 cd and press any key to boot from cd when prompted I still end up at the "windows failed to start " screen. At this point I have the option to select "Launch startup repair" or "start windows normally" but I cant select them, the machine just counts down and continues to try to launch startup repair and fails with the 0xc000000e error.
I am not able to run recovery on by laptop. When I try to run recovery from hard drive or even booting system from DVD ROM using recovery discs I get the following error:
Status: 0xc0000225 Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
My system is HP pavilion dv6 2150us. My hard drive is dynamic (someone told me that this error is because of dynamic hard drive). Will I have to convert dynamic hard drive to basic to run recovery? Or is there another way around?
When i boot up windows 7 my screen will go black, i can see my cursor and still log in by using my arrow keys and enter.
This is incredibly annoying, since i can not see which user i have selected
In TF2 i am a professional demolition man and soldier.
I have done a full scan with Malwarebytes anti malware and i CAN see the selection screen in safe mode, i also have Avira antivirus running constantly.
for work, i am making a few Wim files to deploy different versions of windows 7.everything is setup and merged my multiple wim files together. the issue i'm having is when i come to the "Select the operating system you want to install" screen. it shows up blank but i can still select the many versions. it's like i didn't edit a file or add detail somewhere. picture below

I have an Intel i5, Windows 7 Ultimate, and SSD main and 2 HDs SATA. One day, blue screen BSOD appeared and Pc is restarted. Then appears the following error: Window failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
