wireless was working fine on my toshiba laptop but not the light has gone out on the switch at the front and wont turn back on. I cant connect to the net wireless. I can still connect through ethernet cable though.I tried FN F8 and that doesnt work either. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a MEDION MD96850 Laptop. Ever since the battery died, I have been running the laptop on AC power. This has been fine for my work. However, since yesterday, the laptop just won't turn on. The power supply is on but the laptop won't start. I have tried 3 power adapters but it's the same result.
One of my hinges is damaged and I can see a wire inside - maybe this is the cause of the problem? I read that on some laptops there's some switch underneath the touchpad that does something but I don't have a clue.
Due to my stupidity, I delayed in backing up much of my work and now find myself desperate to access it again. I really don't want to lose all the work.
When I set the power management to turn off the monitor after x minutes, the monitor is off for 1 second and it turned on automatically. I am using msi ex600 laptop.
I have tried the following:
* Unplugged the mouse
* Exit from all application's running
* Disable the network card
My bios and graphic card are updated. The hibernate option is working fine. Is there a way to find what turns on the monitor?
my computer automatically turn on when i connect it to the power source....And after few seconds it restarts its self...this cycle repeats its self over and over again until i dont disconnect the power source.

Problem :I can not log on windows with power button.So, for the detail :
1. When i turn on my PC (use power button)
2. It's on then go to dual boot menu then I press enter on windows 7
3. Then, the normal boot appear (windows logo with "starting windows" text)
4. After that, the screen goes blank, just black screen without cursor
my vga and ram is ok, I already use the latest driver for my vga card I can start my win xp normally (my dual boot is win 7 and win xp) I can start my win 7 with safe mode and low resolution I also can start my win 7 normally after I force restart my PC with reset button?

When ever I try to restart my computer it shuts off and then the power lights turn to orange and then the computer beeps twice and then waits for a few seconds and then beeps again. I have to hit the power button and then hit it again to get it to turn on and it works fine

It happens if the computer has been running for hours or only a couple of minutes. I have to shut the PC off and leave it off for 20-30 minutes. I can then restart and enter any user account. But if I try to switch user or logoff and pick a different user the whole cycle begins anew.

I use my PC for audio production and I have a few external controller devices that are USB powered, for example a midi keyboard. I recently had to build PC due to a theft....long story short after building the new PC I've noticed that my USB buses have continual power to these external devices after I've powered down the PC. My old windows 7 PC did not do this. Is there a setting I can change to shut off power to the USB buses when I power off the PC? Or is this a hardware issue?

(I had 8 of them 3 days ago.)I assume I have a hardware problem, but nothing has been found and I'm grasping at straws.The time between power off and power on is several seconds.I had assumed this rules out a software cause, but maybe I'm wrong. I know Windows can schedule a power off, but can it tell BIOS (or something) to power back on in a few seconds?I know blaming the power supply is a much more simple explanation, but then I'm left with explaining the intermittent nature of the failure.

I tried holding down the power button to clear out any charge that might be remaining. I have managed to get it back on, but I have to make a connection at the clip where you plug the power button ribbon into the mobo. Also, this is the second time I have had to do this. The computer works fine afterwards...or seems to anyway.
