Checked replacing the RAM to another slot, checked by replugging the video card, but still couldn't able to get the display, checked all power cables also that is well connected.
View 2 RepliesI have a question about my Cooler Master Real Power M620. I have a lot of cables inside my computer to power my GTX 580. It has these cables hanging to it:
- one 8-pins power connector
- a two-6-pins to 8-pins adapter to cover the second 8-pins slot.
The point is that I have one 6-pins cable from my PSU and 2 molex to a 6-pins to the adapter.
The last bit requires the use of a lot of cables and adapters. Therefor my question is: would I be able to hook up my PSU with two 8-pins power connectors, thus getting rid of the unnecessary adapters?
I have a new problem. My monitor has begun to blink repeatedly after coming out of power saving mode (when the screen turns off automatically due to inactivity).
I have no problems with this in that past. This problem just started out of the blue a few days ago. Initially, it would just blink once or twice coming out of power saving mode, now it might blink 10 or more times before the monitor stays on. Once the monitor is on, it functions fine. The blinking only occurs after coming out of power saving mode.
Just recently was doing some additional overclocking on my PC and had this happening just now. Whenever I resume my session out of sleep mode by hitting either a key on my keyboard or mouse, my PC fires up, but the display doesn't come back, almost as if I had pulled out the cable from the monitor. The PC is running normally as this is going on, and the only way for me to get my display back is to do a hard reset.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWell, running Windows 7 ultimate on a Dell xps m1330 laptop. Everything looks good, but at work I am connected to a matrox triple-head-to-go device which is connected to (3) 22' monitors (3840x1280 resolution). Now when I connected it, ran the nvidia app, it found it and worked great.
Problem is I get home, no external connected, so running off the laptop with the basic resolution, I am trying to start apps (firefox, stickies, etc.) and I guess they were in other spots at work as I don't see them.
I forced a close on FF, then re-started, rt clicking and maximizing which worked, but then other apps like stickies don't have that option. An alt-tab shows it running in the lower right (see screenshot), but there is absolutely no way of getting to the app! I did close the app completely and restarted, but it does restart in a location not on the screen.
I am getting a lot of BSOD when my laptop is connected to an external monitor using a display-port cable.The system is fine when I don't use a external monitor and use just laptop screen. External monitor is a Dell 30inch. I have tried different display-port cables, different monitors, tried connecting via vga...still get BSOD, so I am thinking the problem is more on the windows 7/software side rather than hardware.
1. Uninstall AVG free edition 2011
2. Upgraded network-gigabit driver directly from intel instead of Lenovo
3a. Upgraded Nvidia drivers directly from nvidia for Quadro 1000m (ver 8.17.12.7533 - 5/20/2011) - got BSOD within 30min
3b. Downgraded Nvidia drivers to version from Lenovo (ver 8.17.12.6696 - 2/2/2011) - still get BSOD but there is more time between BSODs.
I am using a lenovo w520 laptop, win 7 SP1, x64. 8gb memory, intel 510 solid-state drive, Nvidia Quadro 1000 and Intel HD Graphics 3000, No-Anti-Virus and running zone-alarm firewall.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a netbook with a 10.1 inch screen, and a 22inch LCD display panel. When I connect my netbook to the display, the words seem too small at 1920x1080 resolution. If I set the font size to 125% or 150%, then it would be too big once i unplug my external LCD and use the netbook's 10.1 screen. Setting the 22 LCD to a lower resolution makes the text look very blurred, so that's not an option.
Is there anyway/script/program to automatically change the font size when I connect/disconnect the LCD screen?
I recently installed Windows 7 fresh install and all of a sudden my display and tower will not power down anymore.

I have followed all the guide lines for disabling sleep mode and it still randomly stops running by turning off the display and powering down. I use my PC for audio production and I have a few external controller devices that are USB powered, for example a midi keyboard. I recently had to build PC due to a theft....long story short after building the new PC I've noticed that my USB buses have continual power to these external devices after I've powered down the PC. My old windows 7 PC did not do this. Is there a setting I can change to shut off power to the USB buses when I power off the PC? Or is this a hardware issue?

(I had 8 of them 3 days ago.)I assume I have a hardware problem, but nothing has been found and I'm grasping at straws.The time between power off and power on is several seconds.I had assumed this rules out a software cause, but maybe I'm wrong. I tried holding down the power button to clear out any charge that might be remaining. I have managed to get it back on, but I have to make a connection at the clip where you plug the power button ribbon into the mobo. Also, this is the second time I have had to do this. The computer works fine afterwards...or seems to anyway.

Ive just installed the 64bit signature edition - curtesy of MS and House party. Setup went ok but I am having an issue with my network not staying put. what I mean is that I can click on the network link - go to the network and find maybe my pc and one other. Another time I will find maybe an additional pc or a totally different one or all of them.
But the one Im havng the most problems with is my external drive which is linked direct to the network. If I use its installed software I have no problem but if I try to access it through the network - as I would normally to stream our music - I frequently find it is missing off the list.
What I should have is as follows:
PC1 - me cable connection - Win 7 (64bit retail)
PC2 - son 1 - cable connection - Win 7RC (32 bit)
PC3 - son 2 - cable connection - Win 7RC (32 bit)
Laptop1 - Daughter's - wireless - no problem so far - Vista Home Premium (32 bit)
Drive 1 - external network drive - cable connection
It played up for a couple of hours but at present they are all there but it gets annoying when one or another just seems to disappear for no reason that I can see. Ive checked the various setting and nothing has changed apart from my having done a clean install of Win 7 on PC1. Only thing different on that one is Ive pt on the 64bit version instead of the 32 but I cant believe that that is the cause. Any suggestions?
