Date Not Showing When Hovering Over Clock In Taskbar?

I see a very brief flash of what could be the date only.

Computer Clock Keeps Resetting Back To Earlier Date
Dec 13, 2012my OS is Windows 7 64-bit. Lately, whenever I start my laptop, the computer clock at the bottom right hand side keep resetting back to 10th January 2008. Also if I do an immediate restart, this problem does not occur. I have to then manually change the computer clock.

Jan 31, 2012I am running Windows 7 premium. The taskbar/notification/clock area @ the bottom of my desktop is huge, like nearly an inch. The Time, Day and Date are one below the other. This takes up so much space especially when u have multiple toolbars, address bar etc @ the top not 2 mention the additional loss of space (of nothingness) @ the top. Leaves less working space than I'm happy with. How do I gain back the use of that half inch in the taskbar?Is it possible 2 gain back the lost area @ the top as well?.I have already gone to Properties and changed the settings there (use small icons). It made no difference at all.

Nov 19, 2011I have windows 7 professional service pack 1 installed on my computer. I found that the clock time does not set to new time even if I change it, after a minute or to it automatically reverts back to false settings. I tried changing it by clicking the clock time on the right bottom corner and changed it to current time. In internet time tab of change time and date setting window, it is set to time.windows.com. Is there anything I could do to set it right? What is the reason of this behaviour?

Jul 7, 2009I just installed Windows 7 RC Build 7100 32-bit version on 2 brand new right out of the box Dell Optiplex 960. This was a fresh install not an upgrade. The setup ran just fine. Windows boots up and runs but is sluggish and sometimes I have to wait for things to open. Such as running solitaire it is slow to deal the cards and even stops briefly.I also tried the 64-bit version but receive an error during the boot from DVD. Status 0xC00000e9. Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred.The cpu and memory usage are not high at all. I have also noticed that the time on the taskbar is running very slow. It takes about 45-50 seconds for one second of time to pass.I am wondering if maybe there is a driver issue with the machines. I have installed the Windows 7 video driver from the ATI site. I am not sure where to find a chipset driver for this computer. There are no red X's or other problems in the device manager.

Taskbar Clock Is Slow And Internet Disconnects?
Jan 17, 2013Prior to Windows 7 64bit my other computer used XP 32bit. The clock was always off by several hours and it seemed like time wasnt being kept when the computer was off and the time was very slow when it was on. I read that it was due to a coin battery that was basically shutting off. I didnt really pay attention to it cause i dont need the time to be correct on it and aside from that and a clicking harddrive, the computer would run fine.Since the harddrive was clicky, i ended up buying another harddrive and tossing the old one. I installed Windows 7 64bit on it and to my surprise going on for atleast a month now, the time was correct. When id turn off the computer for the night and power it on in the morning the time was correct. All this time i thought it was the battery but nope everything worked fine. The time was always correct no matter what.Now the problem. About 2 days ago the power turned off suddenly due to someone plugging in a heater. The heater basically shuts down the house when everyone has things powered on (tv, entertainment centers, computers etc). After that power outage the computer reverted back to its old problem.From that moment on, the clock on the bottom right is once again behind. The time after turn off does not save and now for some reason the internet on that PC disconnects randomly on its own unless i actually go in the control panel and disable and reenable the adapter. A rundown below on whats going on...
- Clock is slow. Its 7am while the clock would read something like 2pm.
- Internet disconnects randomly and must be re-enabled in the control panel.
- The adapter is sometimes stuck in an Indentifying Network infinite loop.
- NOTHING was changed in terms of hardware, only thing different is the harddrive.
This is a PC not a laptop. I cannot figure out whats going on with this, all the proper services are started too. The PC does connect to a router which also connects to the PC im using now and as of now, my net works fine just not on the other PC.
Long Date In Taskbar?
Aug 4, 2010I have a weird issues with the long date format in Win 7. I like displaying the long date in the system tray beneath the clock and did it easily by changing the short date format to be like the long one (dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy). However, the long display date disappeared today but the extra space used by it is still there and if I change it back to the short one (MM/d/yyyy) it works fine. This is the first time this ever happened and I've been using long dates since RC without any issues. At first I thought it was the security updates installed these days but after uninstalling them the problem wasn't fixed.
Edit: after some more fiddling i found out the problem is with "today". The long date would be "Wednesday, August 04, 2010" and it apparently too long to display because dddd, MMM dd, yyyy (instead of MMMM) which is "Wednesday, Aug 04, 2010" works fine. So it's a minor bug in Win7. There seems to be a maximum allowed space for displaying the date which is strange since there's plenty of room on the taskbar (1680*1050 res on 22" screen) and the taskbar is not locked.
DVD Maker Showing Date?
Jan 18, 2011I want to burn some photos to a dvd to send to a friend. When I looked at the photos before burning them I noticed that today's date was imbeded in the photos...I don't want that. How do I make sure that the date does not appear on the finished dvd?

Jan 15, 2013Lately my bottom right display on the task bar is disappearing. This includes the clock, and all system tray icons. All I have to do is open the task bar properties and click OK and then it comes back. This does not happen after a reboot, it just happens suddenly for no reason, and a couple times a week.

Oct 11, 2012Ive been trying to make sure that all my drivers are up to date, so I've got the program Driver Max to make sure that they are the latest versions. Ok so as I understand it, things like:
'Intel (R) ICH10 Express Root Port 1-5 etc'
'Intel (R) ICH10 SMBus Controller -3A30'
'Intel (R) ICH10 LPC Interface Controller - 3A16'
And all of those related things are what the chip set driver update's? If I'm wrong please explain how I update those things. If I'm right then why would it say they were out of date when I've gone to the Intel site and used the driver detection feature and it says I'm up to date?

Windows Explorer Won't Maximize - Only Showing On Taskbar
May 2, 2011I have a client who had a problem on his Windows Explorer in windows 7 64 bit. When he opens the windows explorer, it will show on the taskbar but it will not show on the screen. When he click on it, it will also open. Right click on it but no option to maximize or restore. The same problem with the task manager. But there's no problem opening other applications.

Oct 4, 2011If I update the BIOS on my Intel motherboard to any one of the three most recent BIOS's, my add-in Intel network card (located in one of the pci slots) shows up as a removable device in the taskbar (Much like a USB device; for example a passport removable hard drive or flash drive). However, the motherboard's network controller does not exhibit this behavior.
Intel support is telling me that it can vary as to how the devices are detected by Windows and that this is normal. I have never ever seen a pci slot card being detected as a removable device in the 20 years that I have been using Windows, so I was wondering if what they are telling me is a valid statement? It seems kind of scary that this is happening.

May 15, 2011Earlier today I was pinning some shortcuts to the superbar (wordpad, My Computer, Godmode) and now, for some reason, when I open Firefox, Chrome, or Opera, the superbar won't combine the tabs together, so instead of hovering over the icon for the browser and getting the different tabs to pop up, only the open tab pops up above the icon. But it works fine for Internet Explorer, open windows folders, and wordpad/notepad. Those icons pop up the multiple open documents when hovering. But the browsers won't show multiple tabs when hovering.I checked the options for the superbar and it is set to "always combine, hide labels".
