View 1 RepliesI have windows 7 professional service pack 1 installed on my computer. I found that the clock time does not set to new time even if I change it, after a minute or to it automatically reverts back to false settings. I tried changing it by clicking the clock time on the right bottom corner and changed it to current time. In internet time tab of change time and date setting window, it is set to time.windows.com. Is there anything I could do to set it right? What is the reason of this behaviour?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI cannot see the date when hovering over the clock in the task bar.
I see a very brief flash of what could be the date only.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have run into this problem before and maybe there is a simple way to address it but if so I'm in the dark (I hate when that happens). The problem is that my laptop screen is very small and, like the situation tonight and other nights - I am installing a program and I have to click "Accept" to finish up and I can't see the "Accept" Link. If I move the window I see it is there but I cannot access it with the window displayed normally.I don't see any scroll bar either on the side to allow me to move further down the page.

Recently it started going to the same screen upon bootup, only now my username and icon are smaller than before and I must now click the small icon before it turns big, and then I can enter my password. how to go back to bypassing this annoying extra click before entering my password?

All drivers are installed, and the touch screen is working, however the Mouse Pointer on screen is bugging the hell out of me.I have USB mouse plugged in as well, and when using the USB mouse, i get the default white arrow, but as soon as I use finger on the Touchscreen the Mouse pointer changes to a small diamond. When I take my finger of the screen, the mouse pointer dissappears alltogether (until the next time i touch or move the mouse)I want the touchscreen Mouse pointer to stay the same as the normal white arrow. I have tried all the options under Mouse settings and Pen and Touch, but none work.
View 3 Replies View Relatedafter reformatting my windows 7, my sony laptop came up with a weird screen problem. I have updated/re-installed graphic cards etc and even reformatted and same problem. Before the reformatting it didn't use to happen.Basically this happens:Right after "Starting Windows" boot screen and animation finishes, It flashes a bunch of small colored dotted distortions at the top of the screen. It only flashes this once right before the Log in Screen. No other problems occur after that.Tried "No GUI Boot" still didnt fix it.I assume the backlight/inverter is failing?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed windows 7 and it works fine and has started up sussecfully after a few reboots during set up, showing me my motherboard screen (ie press F8 for boot menu, del for set up etc etc).
However my start up screen has now vanished. When I turn my PC, i no longer see these options, or the windows logo disolve. I am aware that my PC is starting as I can hear it, but thats all. Windows 7 does start up and i do eventually get to my desktop, but why has my startup screen disapeared. So far the only programs I have loaded are AutoCAD2009(which does include directX), avast antivirus and Office Enterprise 2007.
Please help if you can, I need to be able to see my start up screen as it shows my RAID config.
so i installed windows 7 about a month ago but just yesterday started getting this issue where the bottom 1/3 of my screen is White and the other 2/3 works perfectly fine. I tried to take a screen shot to show what I meant but screen shots end up looking as if everything is normal.
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T60p with ATI graphics card.
How can I tell if its my physical laptop screen that is having the issue versus my graphics card somehow screwing up? Does taking a screen shot and everything looks normal mean its my laptop screen??
This is giving me fits because I can't see my start menu so I have to guess where the search bar is to open programs. Plus I'd obviously prefer my whole screen works.
i didn't do anything with my windows,i installed doom3 on my laptop and when i turned it on,i was :O that it is not on full screen,n it is leaving some borders from left and right side almost 1 inch both sides...i changed game resolution, but no effect...its same, and then i installed NFS MW and same was with it too...
how this can be resolved...any solution??

When I turn on the power a black screen telling me to "insert my Windows installation disc" choose my language and then click "repair your computer" appears.I copied recovery discs and driver discs etc when I bought it (about a year ago) but no "Windows installation disc".The system running on it is the Windows 7 one.Is there anything to be done (other than trying to contact Windows for a copy of the install disc).
View 5 Replies View RelatedOn my friends laptop, when she boots it up, it gets to the log-on screen and instead of having her account there, it's just the blank blue background and it doesn't say the Windows 7 bit at the bottom of the screen or have the shut down/sleep mode options and the cursor is in the middle of the screen, but it's not the normal cursor, it's larger and looks like the cursor from older versions of Windows. It is also frozen in place, and you can't move it. And when you close her laptop, it stays on instead of going black. We've tried looking it up already, but it's either just people having similar problems on other operating systems or people who are only missing some user accounts and can still log in on one. We're pretty sure it can't be a virus, because she scans her PC regularly with Avast, MalwareBytes, SUPERAntiSpyware and Spybot. (She also has McAfee, which came with her PC and when she tried to uninstall it, it made her computer bluescreen and then start frequently bluescreening randomly for a while, but soon stop)

it worked fine on windows xp and vista on my old rig but in windows 7 the nearest resolution which i got was 1600*1200 which was too big for my monitor to display.
Now my question is that i am building a new rig with intel i7 860 4 gb corsiar ram and a ati radeon hd 5850 i will be plugging my video card into my moniter via a vga cable so will this problem be common and i will also use th 64 bit version of win 7 and earlier i was using the 32 bit.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an odd problem I've not been able to fix. I have a laptop from a friend of a friend, so I don't know much of the history of it.Essentially, when started normally the laptop hits the windows 7 welcome screen, but instead of displaying a list of users, it flashes again and again. The cursor shows the busy circle next to it for a split second, then the screen goes black, then the screen comes back with the busy cursor. The system starts normally in safe mode.I've tried to disable all of the services and startup items with MSConfig, but that's made no difference. I've also run sfc /scannow which on it's first pass detected and fixed an item, but on subsequent passes sees no problems. After that was a bust I decided to try to revert to a system restore point. There are several the choose from, but once selected the restore doesn't actually take place. The system simply shuts down after preparing to restore, and when restarted in safe mode states that it was unable to start the shadow copy service (which to the best of my understanding can't be started in safe mode)
