Jan 24, 2013I am receiving a "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)None of my USB ports are working. I have tried to update driers, and modify the registry, but nothing seems to work. I don't have a way to get the information off my system, as none of the ports work, so I can't reset the machine to factory settings.

Sep 29, 2012It's been a while, but I built my first PC a couple of months ago. So far everything works great. But now, My DVD drive doesn't show up in My Computer. I checked Device Manager, and I have an error for my driver. Here is the error:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"
I have tried using Driver Fusion to wipe out all drivers and reinstall with no change. The drive shows up in BIOS so it's not a connection problem. I'd prefer not to reinstall the OS....
Cannot Find Optical Drive - Configuration Info In Registry Incomplete Or Damaged
Feb 21, 2012I don't see my optical drive on my computer window box. I uninstalled the driver for my optical drive and reinstalled it (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T50F). I still do not see the optical drive listed. In the device status window, under the general tab of the device manager window, is shown this message:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"
When I uninstall and allowed the computer to find the driver online, the same failure is shown. The computer window box still doesn't show my optical drive.

May 18, 2012I received this on the screen after trying to fix a problem of logon concerning interactive logon process initialization failed. I cannot even go to the safe mode now and the OS will not boot.

Nov 10, 2012Windows 7 64 bit loaded on a clean formated disc on Dell M5030.however no wifi drive or other drives are installed. Also, I cannot install any drivers I get a message need to know if you are running x84 or x64. How do I fix this problem. Seems that the software isn't putting the entire programs up.

Jun 12, 2012I am currently having issues with my system recovery for windows 7. I have a partition on my computer for system recovery to its original state. Some how there were some drivers that got deleted or something happened to make the computer only have limited access to the internet, my audio stopped working, as well as the usb ports would read the mouse and keyboard but would fight to recognize my external hard drives. So i figured I would do a system restore on the computer by simply hitting F8 and running it in safe mode as I couldnt use the backup feature due to what ever got deleted. It went through the restore process and then at the end (or what i would assume to me be the end) during the software install stage it will make it to what would appear to be 99% done and continuously try and load the last parts before it finishes and states that the recovery was incomplete. I have ran diagnostics on the computer hardware (F2) durring the start up and everything seems to pass just fine. Also when the System recovery incomplete tab comes up if i choose to see the log i can see the windows screen in the background as well as log onto the internet which I wasnt able to do before. So something was fixed in the process as i couldnt log onto the net before and now i can log into windows lol. Im stuck and could use some advice as to how to fix it

Following instructions on a post on this site, I changed the value of an HKEY (can't recall which one any more) and it started working again. However, the results are now always incomplete. For example, I might type "ABC .xls" in the Start Menu bar to search for an Excel file called ABC. The immediate search results would be empty. However, if I click "See More Results", a window opens in Explorer and the search returns a hit.Because the search function in Explorer works fine, I think the indexing function is working properly. However, I rebuilt it anyway and the results are the same. why the search in the Start Menu produces incomplete results

Jun 27, 2011first of all i have a sony laptop with 7 ultimate 64bit, the problem started when i was using convertxtodvd (software) and watching Internet videos at the same time. i was watching online videos and had converxtodvd converting a video into dvd, (for maybe 15 mins?), then the computer suddenly frozed. i turned it off figure that maybe the laptop coundn't handle that much task. i turned it back on and probelms started to show, the explorer.exe started crashing every 5 to 8 mins after the computer starts up. i tweaked it a little bit, but i ended up with no success. so i decided to reboot the whole computer, but after the installation, i receive an error message just before i get to the preference screen (the screen where u choose your computer name and such) it states, "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encounter and unexpected error. windows installation cannot proceed. to install windows click "ok" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. but the thing is this error message appears every time and i never get to the preference screen.could it be that something is broken internally? maybe the memory is faulty? graphic card is faulty? damaged? because i also remember back that my lil brother hit the laptop (the keyboard part) a couple of times (pretty hard too).

Feb 2, 2013In the act of trying to get my Velocity computer up and running (new P.S.U. and CDRom Drive) from a power spike at home I loaded 3 copies of Vista on the HD as I figgled with the BIOS boot order. To make a long story short: I was not able to get the system to boot and correctly complete the install of Vista and then Windows 7 (got a Windows upgrade disk with the machine years ago and had it, Win.7 running after the first week.). Now I have 3 incomplete installs of Vista sitting on the HD and I would like to get them off so I can make room for better things.

Nov 15, 2012I'm having trouble with my very new computer (Lenovo Y480 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit), which I've narrowed down to the following sequence:
1. I restored computer to original factory settings (to rule out possible causes)
2. I ran msconfig, and checked the boxes 'Safe Mode' and 'Networking.' I got the following error message:"System configuration cannot save the original boot configuration for later restoration. Boot changes will be reverted. The system cannot find the file specified"
3. The default boot option disappeared from the boot menu (Windows 7, default OS, current OS).
4. When I restarted my computer, it would not boot and gave me the error 0xc00034, stating that the file BootBCD was missing.
I did not do anything else with my computer after restoring the factory settings, and I did not connect to the internet. I originally encountered the problem when I wanted to try installing Windows updates in safe mode after some of the installations failed. I have replicated the error several times, including after successfully installing all Windows updates.
Mail To Windows Live Mail - Import Incomplete
Jan 6, 2010I have - quite stupidly, as I now think - installed Windows Seven on my old Vista on my Laptop without thinking about the Mail program at all. That is: neither did I make a backup nor did I export contact lists from Windows Mail, etc.
I was, however, able to import most of the stuff from Windows Mail into Windows Live Mail anyway. I took ownership of both Windows Mail folders (in C:Program Files and C:Program Files(x86) including subs 'n files, and tried the import function in Windows Live Mail - three times, I think.
I can't really tell whether or not all my messages are there, yet I can say for sure that what I find in the Storage Folders section in Windows Live Mail reproduces only a part of the filing system I had established in Windows Mail. That is to say: A lot of the folders I used to have in Windows Mail are simply missing. Are the messages that used to be in there missing, too? No idea so far... they might be in the Inbox or somewhere else.
To be sure, I have everything, that is: all my messages, on my webmail-account. Yet it took me forever to work out my huge filing system (including all the message rules, etc.) in Windows Mail which allows me to have more folders than my webmail account that is for some reason limited to 258 folders. So even although I know that in the end I do have all the messages on my webmail, I would just hate to have to do all that work again! Thus I'd just love to "simply" get my Webmail stuff imported as it was.
Any ideas what I might have done wrong? ...what I could do to retrieve the missing folders?
Alternatively: Is there any way to "simply" (I know what you're thinking...) reactivate Windows Mail in Windows 7 so that I can start over by properly exporting everything from there?
I have found some related topics but did not see anyone having this particular problem. If I simply overlooked it, sorry! At any rate: I'd appreciate any help you can offer!

What confused me in this instance was that there were 3 songs that were not recently downloaded in that folder. If the co-worker plugs in his Ipod to charge it, will he lose the tracks there? I advised him to contact Apple to look into his account and recover any songs that he downloaded.

Getting File Information Hang?
Jul 8, 2010basically sometimes when im downloading a file using IE 8. it goes to save as i can pick location to save my file.sometimes it just hangs on getting file information and times out. ( thought the link was dead ) then used IDM - internet download manager it works.tried same link on firefox it works...wondering why sometimes IE 8 hangs on getting file information? Last i remember was doing some registry tweaks, already reinstalled windows 7, ran uniblue's registry.have reset internet settings, checked security settings tab aswell. no firewall, not my eset nod32 antivirus blocking.
