how to handle USB removable media inside camera. With camera there is no "Safely remove hardware and eject media" option. When Photo camera is connected, a new camera device is installed and GUI window is opened with option to browse or copy photos. But there is no removable storage devise eject button on notification area. The USB removable Storage devise is also present on File Manager Computer left panel but again, there is no mouse right button eject option as normally with removable storage devices. I have checked in on several computers. How to understand. I don't believe that it's camera specific but Camera is Canon S95.

This may not be the correct place to post this, but I wasn't sure. I just recently downloaded Windows 7 Ultimate, and a couple of drivers. Nothing else. I'm using a 90GB Corsair Force 3, and it says that 67.5GB have been used, but there is no way that that's possible. What happened?

If I have lots of files (more than 70) on a DVD-RW. Windows takes ages to read the disk and be ready to access the files. Is there an optimum way of doing this that makes Windows happier?I update the files fairly regularly.I do have DVD buring software. (In any case, if I use Windows to update the disk, it finalises the disk.) I remember with earlier versions of Windows using a UDF reader, and then there was no speed problem.

I'm getting an odd error trying to connect from my Windows 7 laptop to an XP PC.he XP computer is 'seen' on the network, and I can see the shared folders on that computer. The problem comes when I try to see inside those folders. I get this error message:[Window Title]Open Folder[Content] \DOCOFFICEDoc Office C is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Not enough server storage is available to process this command.Anyone have a clue what's going on here? I believe all of my sharing permissions are correct, and the XP computer can see files on the Windows 7 machines (I have two laptops that I'm playing with Windows 7 on). Both Windows 7 laptops generate the same error trying to access the XP machine, though they can see and access each other just fine. I've run through all of the troubleshooters multiple times to no avail, disabled and re-enabled network access (both wireless and Ethernet connections), and still get that same error consistently.

I've got a fairly recent Win7 x64 install on my system. Since Beta, I've been getting an error message "Not enough storage is available to process this command", which is accompanied by a stop code 0xc142 when launching items like Task Manager. I've seen the first error is typically related to the Windows Desktop Heap, but I've set from the original (2GB if I'm reading it correctly), to 4GB of space. I'm running a system with 1.7TB of available drive space (20GB on the OS drive as it's a smaller SSD drive) and 6GB of RAM. I've tried varying the windows page file from 500MB to the system-controlled 6GB with the same result.

I'm running Windows 7 on my Lenovo T400. I use a wireless router and a LinkSys NAS200 network storage. I'm having a hard time trying to set up backup on the net storage. It worked fine with my XP laptop. I can access the files on the net storage using my browser, so it appears that the network is working, but I haven't been able to map a network drive, and the Windows 7 backup can't find it.

I noticed a heated debate in the "RC1 as Main OS" thread and I figured I would take this out of the thread and allow people to discuss it here.
Personally, it's hard to fathom keeping my personal email online for people to look at or steal my identity or companies records.

I've just got a StarTech dock station for the Hard Drive (with Esata and USB 3.0 ports). When I first used it first time. The first thing I use is ESATA port and ran without a problem (run CrystalDiskInfo and CrstalDiskMark to test) and also I format the drive. But when I try USB 3.0 port is won't response well (using express card). For example it found new hardware and open the drive - but then I ran CrystalDiskInfo or CrstalDiskMark it won't open unless I disconnect the USB then the program will open after I disconnect the USB. I've try copy a file across nope crash or stop working. So I've try using USB 2 to see if not the USB 3.0 same problem but gone back to Esata port work fine!So I've try on another laptop to see if not the Dock problem. And USB 2 work!!!! even USB 3.0 work using Express card so it not the dock problem (The laptop is running Win XP 32 bits).I also got WD passport and book (1tb/3tb) and they both work fine on my laptop plus the USB 3.0.

I'm obviously brand new to the forums so I hope this is the right place for this. I should start with my type of drive; I have a 120gb Cherryville SSD from Intel serving as my C: Drive. Just the other night I had approximately 43GB left in my C: Drive (note this is incredibly low as well, but I was content). Last night I checked again and saw that I was down to 25! I performed a disk defrag and that actually decreased my storage to 23! I am absolutely puzzled as to the cause of this.
The only thing I have done between the time that I had over 40 and last night was update my visual BIOS (having nothing to do with my C: Drive at all) and download a simple XML update for Microsoft Expressions (which was measured in kilobytes). Granted I have done my fair share of updating .net framework and various other updates, but all of my major programs are on my hard drive, not my SSD. To put this into visual perspective, I'd like to share a photo showing around 25GB of space taken that is absolutely nowhere to be found, I find it hard to believe that Windows and a few programs can take up nearly 90GB of storage.

I no longer show any storage media (flash, portableHD) in my computer when i plug them in. The sound chimes when they connect, they show in the device manager with an exclamation point, but i cannot access anything. Initially my flash drives would attempt to install drivers but fail, now nothing even pops up in the task bar to show it is connected.
Anything that it not storage related (mouse, keyboard, printer, phone charger) all work fine, they chime and pop up in the taskbar when they are plugged in like normal.
What i have tried with no success: Boot into safemode and uninstall everything under USB Controller.... in the device manager including hidden, use different usb ports, refresh, update drivers, nothing works.

Window 7 Home 64-bit
180GB Corsair Force 3 SSD [C:]
1TB WD Caviar Black SATA3 HDD [E:]
I would like to configure my SSD to work as a boot drive and the primary location for storing programs that I either use most frequently or take the longest time to load.I would like the HDD to handle all other file storage and management, including multimedia, documents, and all the little writes that slowly take up space as you use a Windows PC. If possible, I would like to "freeze" the SSD so that no additional data is stored on it unless I explicitly place the data there in Windows explorer (or 'Save As' to that location).I'm not sure if this is a matter of simply setting a disk quota for my SSD that is equal to the amount of data that already exists on it (so no more data is accumulated) or if it's more complicated than that. I also am not sure about which Windows & system files can be migrated to the E: drive without interfering with system stability. I've heard that moving the Users folder may accomplish this, but when trying to do so, I am prompted about how several files cannot be transferred due to the fact that they are in use.

My uncles laptop burner is acting like storage device. The icon on computer is a storage device icon. Every time he inserts a DVD movie it doesn't auto play, in windows media player you would usually see the DVD on the side but you see it as storage device icon which you can't play it. The only way to play it is by playing the .vob file on the DVD. I checked device manager and i found the burner is in the disk drive section which is really strange. Any ideas on how solving this?Details: Toshiba Satellite Pro L500

I successfully restored lots of 'orphan' messages, one by one. Now I have the tedious task of moving them back to the folders they started in, from the Storage Folders to the account-related ones. It is tedious because you have to manually create each individual folder in the target area. But why bother? At least for relatively inactive files? That is, what is the operational difference between Storage Folders and the account-related ones? I cannot find a simple description of that elsewhere.

Linux is still working and everything on the storage partition is still there and accessible in linux. do i have to tell windows the partitions or does it have to do a scan or something?

In my 'computer' - By that I mean the place where OS (:C) Is located and all - There is no more an option for removable media. Or removable storage. I run windows 7 home premium 64 bit.
So basicly no SD, Usb use to work. UNLESS I go to change driver letters and paths and then choose assign a letter and assign one but it only works for one time and then next time insert a different or same usb nothing happens. This is crazy. There is suppose to be a drop down bar in 'computer' but its just not there. Only hard drive disks drop down menu is there. And I have a asus laptop. U50 F Series.
