External Storage Device Does Not Show Any Data?
Jan 20, 2013My computer shows the space and everything else but doesnt show the folder and files in it like pictures and videos... and also i cant copy anything to it... on other computer there is no problem.

Oct 8, 2011I have noticed that a number of videos in my archive have disappeared. It is not a high percentage of the videos, just one here and there. Diagnostics show nothing wrong with the storage drive, nor anything else that I can think of. At first I thought it must have been due to me accidentally deleting a file, or not really having saved it as I thought that I had, but I now know that is not the case. I'm accustomed to what usually happens when a file becomes corrupted, it just becomes unusable, but still remains visible to the file manager and other programs, but I'm wondering if it might totally disappear?

Dec 15, 2011how to handle USB removable media inside camera.With camera there is no "Safely remove hardware and eject media" option.When Photo camera is connected, a new camera device is installed and GUI window is opened with option to browse or copy photos. But there is no removable storage devise eject button on notification area. The USB removable Storage devise is also present on File Manager Computer left panel but again, there is no mouse right button eject option as normally with removable storage devices. I have checked in on several computers. How to understand. I don't believe that it's camera specific but Camera is Canon S95.

HDDs Show In BIOS, But Do Not Show In Disk Management
Oct 14, 2011just completed a first-time new Windows 7 PC build. Successful installation of Windows 7 Pro on WD 600GB 10000 system drive. Went back and installed 4 additional HDD. (2) WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM and (2) WD Caviar 7200 500GB HDD from XP system that were used for storage.
BIOS sees all HDDs, but are not viewable in Disk Management.
System Specs:
Antec Nine Hundred
ASUS P6X58D-E MOBO

However, only three are visible in Disk Management. Missing (1) WD 500GB (previously used on WinXP system) and (1) new WD 1T.
Backup Files Will Only Show Up If Click Show Hidden Files And Folder?
Sep 24, 2012I was using my desktop like normal then an error came up saying that there was a hdd failure, and that i needed to scan for errors. all my files disappeared and only this error would come up. There would be hundreds of the same msg spamed on my screen. I scaned my hdd for errors using my Bios/Advanced options and no errors came up. I decided to take out the hdd and put it into my External Hdd bay to hook up to my laptop to extract the data off it.When i hooked it up to my laptop it showed up empty. I went into folder options and clicked on show hidden files and folders. Everything came up but it was grey/transparent. I then copied the files to another hdd for backup.
Then i formatted the hdd and put on a fresh new OS. Id like to mention i have a second internal drive that i use for backups but it wasnt backed up recently when this issue happen so i had to take out the main drive and use it as an external to back up onto another external drive.so then when i click on my second internal drive after the reinstall of the new OS it shows empty i have to go in and show hidden files and folders.. now they show again transparent. also i plug in my external to get the recent back up and all those files are still transparent when i move them to my desktop that is freshly OS installed they are still grey/transparent and i have to keep the show hidden files and folders to view them.. so its all my music, pics, documents etc they are all greyed out..i tried to copy my backup IE favs into my new IE browser and they wont show up because they are hiden it shows it copied to the favs folder but in ie i cannot view them if that makes any sense.
Windows 7 Can't See Shared Storage Partition?
Aug 7, 2011I used to have three partitions: Windows 7, Fedora 12 and a NTFS-Storage-Partition Now I had to reinstall Windows 7, it doesn't see any files on the storage partition; Windows shows the whole rest of the disk including the linux partition as one drive with 7gb of 80gb free, I can also open it but then there is nothing in it... Linux is still working and everything on the storage partition is still there and accessible in linux. do i have to tell windows the partitions or does it have to do a scan or something?

Jun 3, 2011On my employers computer last night his storage folders began to randomly delete themselves from his windows live mail every time he shut to program down. Over the course of shutting down and reopening the program 4-5 times a total of nearly 60GB's of email was deleted from his Windows Live mail. I used a data recover program to scan the hard drive and recover the deleted items. The inbox and sent folder remains untouched and and new folders created at the same root level as sent and inbox appear to be unaffected as well. Some of the recovered email is corrupted and is just gibberish and random text strings and symbols. Have no idea what it causing this and not sure if a reinstall of the Live mail client would correct this issue. The system is a Windows 7 32-bit, IE 9.0, all adobe items up to date, java up to date, mcafee antivirus, and windows fully up to date prior to this starting last night.

Aug 25, 2011I've done well setting up a new computer with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail and transferring everything from my Windows XP computer with Windows Live Mail.I run a small business and desperately want to keep everything in my Storage Folder with many client sub-folders on my XP computer.I have read and read and read for 2 days how to export/import these messages but nothing is workingI can easily find the file with all my folders in it on the XP but there is nothing within the folders.The messages do exist as they are still there on the Windows Live Mail screen. When I export and try to import on Windows 7 it says the file is empty which of course it is.

Upon contacting my manufacturer (Origin) about the problem, they told me that it was my SSD firmware most likely. After researching I confirmed this myself. Boatloads of people have had this same issue with the older firmware, which I have.Updating should solve all my issues. But PROBLEM : My secondary hard drive does not have a compatible partition style for installing Windows (it has a different style because it's a very large HDD) and I can't get remote assistance on the issue due to my ethernet port being broken. I can't send in my system either because I'm currently living as an expat in China and sending things like this back and forth across the border is nearly impossible and not affordable. There are no Origin shops here in China and even if there were I wouldn't exactly trust it. The only place you can send a computer in is Origin HQ in Miami Florida, which I can't do.

Now, the only icons I have running in my system tray are the volume and the HP digital imaging icons. I should have more, like SkyDrive, Dropbox, and most annoyingly WiFi.I cannot connect to the internet at all on the computer anymore. I tried system restore to an earlier time when I know it was working, but it did not change anything. Ask any questions you may have, I know I haven't described this well, but it is unusual.

I understand it may be possible to do this if I uninstall/reinstall the program but that seems like overkill.Also I imagine if I go into the programs folders on the C-drive I should be able to pick them outut why can't I seem to do this easily from within the program?

Mar 12, 2011I have just currently installed 1 x 2 TB HDD. Installed Windows 7 64 bit on one. After installing all my basic applications I then decided to create a backup on my spare 1TB allocating 50 gig for the image. The image itself is only 35gig but when I click on create image it runs for a little while then displays the following message:
"There is not enough disk space to create the volume shadow copy on storage location. Make sure that for all volume to be backup up, the minimum disk space required for shadow copy creation is available. this applies to both the backup storage destination and volume included in the backup. Minimum requirement for Volumes less than 500 megabytes, the minimum is 50 megabyte of free space. For volumes more than 500 megabytes, the minimum is 320 megabytes of free space. Recommended at least 1 gigabytes free of disk space on each volumes if volumes size is more than 1 gigabytes (0x80780119)". It seem like the OS does not recognise 1TB hdd
