Creating New Folder Ends Up Creating 2 Or 3 New Folders?
Jan 7, 2013Under computer I go to my drive of folders. When I click new folder either by right clicking or by hitting new folder the system then creates 2 or 3 new folders at one time. I then have to go back and delete the extra folders. At first I did not mind because it only happened once or twice and now it is every time.

May 4, 2011I have numerous folders each of which contain jpg images. I need to create shortcuts to all these images but I need the shortcut to be created in the same folder as the original image. How can I do this without selecting each file individually and creating the shortcut? I have tried using the search facility to identify all the jpgs but can only create shortcuts to the desktop this way.

Nov 14, 2011I'm running the 32 bit version of Windows 7 and it's fully up to date in terms of patches. This issue only affects libraries. The issue started out of the blue a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't installed any new software or changed any settings and I also tried using System Restore to go back to a couple of days before this issue started?
1. I go into my library called "Videos" and right-click and choose New - Folder. The new folder does not appear.
2. I either press F5 or right-click - refresh and then I can see the new folder I created.
3. I give the new folder a name, for example "test". The folder shows the name "test".
4. I rename the folder to something else, for example "renamedtest". The folder still shows the name as "test".
5. I either press F5 or right-click - refresh and then the folder name changes to "renamedtest".
Basically, any time I create a folder, rename a file or folder, delete a file/folder, move a file/folder etc. I do not see the effects of my actions until after I've manually refreshed. This only affects libraries.

And the reason that Windows 7 will be successful is because of the pain we took on Vista. Because from a compatibility standpoint, if it works on Vista, it will work on Windows 7. If it doesn't work on Vista, it won't work on Windows 7.
I'm glad he stopped short of saying that Windows 7 will be the most secure operating system in the universe!

I am a medical transcriptionist, so I access a secure website to work. Suddenly my desktop will not access the site, but my laptop will. Tech support from my company did a remote access on my computer and could not figure anything out. I took it to a computer shop, they removed a virus (which they said was nothing major), and were able to access the website. I got my computer back but it still will not access the website. I made sure my modem/router firmware is up to date, but the laptop uses that as well. The interesting thing is my computer will not ping the website I work on, nor will the laptop, but yet the laptop connects and works but the desktop will not. Any ideas why this would happen or what could have changed on my desktop? Oh I will say that I restored my desktop, as did tech support, to a week earlier when it was working fine

Oct 29, 2012Starting yesterday, most of my sites that require a password (e.g. bank, mutual fund, credit card) would not accept the passwords. A couple would not allow me to change to a new password, even after I was sent temporary passwords to use to do that. I had to call the sites to have them try, and it took several tries by Support to change the password. Windows 7; Malwarebytes (paid version)and Avira Premium scan daily.

At the time I thought I would never fill it, but at this point it is almost full and I can easily see myself filling another one some time in the future.I plan on adding another 2TB drive and putting them in RAID to appear as one volume, but I did this in the past (in RAID 0) and when one drive failed I lost everything. What would be the best way to keep 3-4TB of data safe?Is there an easy backup method or am I gonna have to bite the bullet and buy 3 more 2TB drives so I can do a RAID 1+0 configuration? I know this is a good way to do this, but I am cringing at having 4TB of space that is basically there just for backup. It seems like a ton of space to waste.

My coworkers have tried to use Microsoft Outlook's "Tasks", but they didn't like the fact that it forced them to assign tasks to specific people. Also, I did see that GoogleDocs can be run offline, but i'm not sure how that works or if that would meet our needs.
