Corel WinDVD - Can't Play Blueray - Upgrade Not Installing?

I'm trying to play a blueray disc on my Sony Vaio VPCF22M0E/B Windows 7 laptop. First of all, when I try to open Corel WinDVD currently version 10.0.5.800 I receive the message from LogicLayer� with WinDVD information service is not yet ready. Please try again lateSo I went on the Sony website to download the latest drivers, WinDVD BD - 10.0.6.162 here-ony : VPCF22M0E/B updates | Download updates for VPCF22M0E/BThen when I try to install the upgrade I get the following message from 'Update Module' - InstallShield Wizard-This upgrade patch can't apply to your version of WinDVD. Setup will now abort
I have been using CorelPrint HousePhoto House Ver.5.0, which is great for editing photos and any kind of picture under Windows XP. It does not work with Windows7.There is something like it from Corel at a reasonable price $ 39.99, called Paint Shop Photo Express 2010; tried the free evaluation, but it has a limited set of tools for editing, far less than Corel Photo House or Corel Photo-Paint. As an example, the clone tool is very ackward to use.
my dvd / blueray writers disappear from my system after the computer has been on for a while or i startup and try to burn a dvd/blueray...now here is a hint i recently removed the dvd and installed a Hot Swap drivebay..that hard drive dissappears when when the blue ray dissappears... thaey ar on the same sata chipset the mobo has 6 ea 6gb/s sata connectors and 2 3gb/s sata connectors..the blue ray and the hotswap bay are on the 3gb/s chipset...the mobo has the latest bios and it makes no differance what bios version is installed and when i reboot the computer they are back...

I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, at home desktop, upgraded all my drivers (including bios, monitor drivers...)...
Then I bought, Dragon Age in Steam, and started playing, after 5 minutes the game became the most laggy thing in the world. Ok, I thought it was something with dragon age. Installed GTA IV, installed the patch, same thing, after about 5 -10 minutes the game starts to lag.
After searching a lot of foruns in the net, i realized that everybody seems to have problems with gaming in Windows 7, or the game crashes, or graphics problems.
I tried compatibility mode - same
Tried tweaking nvidia options - same
Tried tweaking games options - same
Installed more three games to test, all have the same problem.
I cannot load Corel Ulead Movie Factory 6 plus on Windows 7 to my brand new laptop (ASUS n53sn, core i7 2.9 ghz,8 g ram, windows 7 home premium, 64 bit, usb 3, full hd etc). The computer does not even recognize the disc. Other computers wwith XP etc will open it but not windows 7. I don't want to particularly want to buy another movie editing system (unless you have a good alternative that will work on W7)
I have been using Windows 7 Home & Corel Draw 9 for months with out any problems. Now the Windows help and support pop up won't go away so I can't use CD 9. I installed a Realtek driver and now Windows Media Player doesn't work, I'm currently on a Packard Bell machine that I hadn't updated the Realtek drivers on before.
Hey guys, need help here. sorry if i post this in a wrong section I'm using ASUS A43S with NVidia GEFORCEGT 540m CUDA.I'm messing around by installing Windows 8 but then I accidentally click personal files only when installing. So I lost all my programs, its fine for me though, I can reinstall all of them but it seems now my graphic card is not detected as Nvidia but some kind of windows basic graphic card driver ? now I can't play FIFA12 but others just work out fine. I can't restore to factory state because apparently its gone (i dont know why, maybe accidentally deleted it).
I've purchased a Windows 7 Pro Upgrade 64 bit couple of months back, and I'm about ready to install it. However, I can't seem to be able to install XP on my new PC, and I only have a copy of Vista 32bit.
I do not have a second PC to test it on. Would I be able to use a copy of Win7 64bit Upgrade on top of a Vista 32bit?
I've a customer who simply cannot install all updates. In in the end, he decided to try the upgrade route in an attempt to fix the updates not installing. He got hold of an ISO (without SP1) and started the process. At about 70% completion (I believe the OS components have successfully been installed) it stops. The error message states something about lack of disk space to install the applications (????).There's plenty of disk space of coursePrevious to the upgrade try, we've run various MS FixIt tools, SFC, disk check, disabling A/V, checking for malware, etc. Commonly, upon unsuccessful updates, the error codes are either 8007371b or 80073712.
I'm installing Windows 7 upgrade for vista and it finds Kaspersky anti virus on my computer and tells me to uninstall. I have no knowledge of this programme and can't find it anywhere on my computer so I can't uninstall.
I searched for a solution to my issue and could not quite find anything exactly like it. Here is what I have and what I am looking to do:
I currently have a HDD in an HP system, with OEM Vista loaded on it. I just purchased a retail copy of Windows 7 Home premium upgrade and a SSD. I plan to use the SSD for boot, windows, and World of Warcraft.
What I want: To do a clean install of Windows 7 on the SSD. I plan to wipeout the HDD afterward and use it as a storage drive, as I have no use for Vista.
Question: What is the easiest way to do this? I was planning to just hook it all up, pop the Windows 7 disk in, start it up, and do a custom install to the SSD. Load up windows, activate the thing, then wipe the HDD. However, someone said that might not work and I might have to call Microsoft with my Vista key.
I'm running 32-bit build 7231 and want to upgrade to 7260. Yeah, I know that a clean install is preferred, but I want to test out the upgrade instead.
When I go to install it from the existing build, it complains about the version. So, I went into the cversion.ini file and change MinClient to 7000, thinking that would fix it. But it still complains.
So, is there more to it than that? OR is it that this build simply can't be installed as an upgrade?
Is it possible to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 Upgrade (Genuine Retail Copy) onto a completely new hardrive without having any previous Operating Systems?
I currently have Win 7 Home 32 bit installed. I will be upgrading my system and using a new Sata hard drive.I would like to install my Win 7 retail upgrade disk [ the 64 bit version ] on the new drive.Can I do this? If so what would be the easiest way to retain all information from my current 32 bit drive?
My computer went through some problems and I will be getting a new hard drive. Once I get the new HDD I will have to reinstall Vista, which will only have up to service pack 1 included. Do I need to then upgrade to Vista Service Pack 2 before installing my Windows 7 Professional Upgrade, or will it still work on top of service pack 1?
I have a bit of a strange question about installing the Windows 7 upgrade. I'll try to keep it as simple as I can. Firstly
1: I currently have Windows XP SP3 Home Edition installed (and activated) on my 160GB WD Caviar Blue hard drive, which has 8MB cache. It's getting a bit full now.
2. This hard drive is one of the few remnants of a Dell machine I bought a few years ago.
Surprisingly, the restore disk still works and activates, even though I've changed the motherboard and a number of other things over the years. My last reinstall was about a year ago, and I had no problems reactivating whatsoever - I didn't even need to phone Microsoft.
However I doubt it'll install and activate on a new hard drive - particularly as I've also changed the DVD drive since my last activation (as the old one broke), literally the only things remaining from the old system would be the RAM and the processor.
2: I have purchased a 500GB WD Caviar Blue with 16MB Cache
3: I intend to buy Windows 7 Pro Upgrade from TheUltimateSteal for £30. I'm a student, but will be graduating soon, so it seems sensible to take advantage of this offer while I can.
4. Clearly I can install Windows 7 in the normal way onto my current drive and use the 500GB drive for backing up my files, which I'll do if that's the only option.
5. However, if I did that I would not be taking full advantage of the extra cache of the new drive. It would be nice if I could use that for my primary installation to speed things up a bit.
So here's my question:
If I start the upgrade process having booted from the 160GB drive, but during installation select my 500GB drive as the target for the installation, will Windows 7 install and activate correctly? Will it recognise the pre-existing installation, even though it was on a different drive?
If not, then:
If I install my Dell restore disk on the new drive, and don't activate Windows (which presumably I won't be able to), and then run the Windows 7 upgrade on THAT drive, will Windows 7 install and activate correctly?
Basically, is there a legitimate way of installing a Windows 7 Upgrade onto the 500GB drive, on the basis of there currently being a valid XP installation on the 160GB drive?
I have no intention of continuing to use XP after the upgrade, if I am able to install and activate Windows 7 to the new drive, then this will serve only as a backup for my files.
Has anybody tried something similar and succeeded/failed?
I've already read the tutorials on here about doing a clean install of Windows 7. I'd like to avoid dodgy workarounds, as I'd rather not run into problems further down the line when it comes to updates and that sort of thing.
I have an old XP system that has died and i am building a new system to replace it. I'd like to use Win 7 on the new system meaning that the current XP software will be retired. I am purchasing new SATA HDDs and will not be using the ATA133 that has the XP installed.
If I understand correctly I can use an upgrade version of the Win 7 to perform a clean install on my new system. Correct? Any tutorials available on the process?
Just to be sure I am understanding the sticky above correctly, I wanted to ask a question. My current PC has an OEM copy of windows XP. So I can go ahead and buy an upgrade version of Windows 7 for 119 instead of 200 for the full retail version and install it on my computer right? Then, when I buy a new motherboard soon, I can upgrade my computer and use the same windows upgrade version CD's to reinstall Windows on the upgraded computer right?
I have FP up and running on a desktop with a Vista OS and Office 2003 but I want the mobility that my laptop offers. When I originally tried to install this same software on my WIN 7 Home Premium laptop it was unable to find a qualifying program. It wasn't seeing the Office 2003 - even with the actual install disk in the CD drive.So, I purchased the upgrade to WIN 7 Ultimate and have installed the Virtual PC with XP Mode thinking I could circumvent the WIN 7 and get FP installed through the virtual OS. I have access to both Office XP for Students and an Enterprise Version of Office Professional 2003.
I am doing a clean install using the upgrade DVD but on a virtual machine (on a Mac using VMWare Mac Fusion). Everything goes smooth and as per the tutorial except that once I arrive to the "Windows product key", it does not recognize the product key. I skipped that step and completed all other steps as indicated. However, I was unable to activate my windows 7 (last step) as it mentioned that the product is only for upgrade from older version and not for a clean install.
I do have windows XP copy but I would rather do a clean install.
how can I play a video in jet audio (or any other media program) on one monitor while I play a fullscreen game on the other. I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.
