You will need to have cookies enabled, check the accept box, and click Next before it will take you to the actual Realtek HD audio driver download page. If needed, see: How to Allow or Block Cookies in Internet Explorer in Vista You can download a ZIP version or the EXE version of the driver. You may need to install the Setup program twice. Install once and restart to uninstall the previous driver version, then a install and restart a second time to install the new driver version.
After the first install, verify the driver version in Device Manager after the restart to see if the current driver installed or not. If it is, then you will not need to install the driver a second time. When the driver installation is complete, you will need to set your audio settings again in the Realtek HD Audio Manager in the Control Panel (Classic View).
WARNING Some OEM computers will have a custom version of the Realtek HD Audio Manager with the OEM manufacturer's name included instead. For example it may be named "Acer [Realtek] HD Audio Manager" instead for the OEM Acer.
I've looked almost everywhere and I couldn't find my exact problem. Well, technically I did but there wasn't a solution anywhere, so I decided to go ahead and ask myself.
Now, I installed Windows 7 (32 bit) on my computer the other day, and I've been driver hunting since then. Looking for video card drivers, printer drivers, it's a real nightmare. Though I can say I've pretty much managed with everything, except with this.
I downloaded the latest Realtek HD audio driver for Windows 7 twice, from different sources. I also downloaded a bunch of codecs (made for Windows 7 as well) but what really bothers me is that the sound quality is horrifying.
I used to have XP on my system until last week with the appropriate Realtek audio driver and the sound was awesome. The equalizers available really did the trick.
Now, however, the sound is so freaking bad, even Winamp's equalizer can't make my music sound as good as it did. The treble is raspy, there's hardly any bass. I've tried all the available settings in the Realtek Control Center (or whatever it's called) to no avail. All the additional equalizing and adjusting of the environment make it sound even worse.
when I am downloading the latest Realtek drivers, I am having serious problems. For example, when I open the file, it says along the lines of "Invalid file, please download again" . I've downloaded it twice, using both .zip files and .exe file. I am using Google Chrome. Anyone else having this problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was running both x64 & x86 version of Windows 7 RC1 build 7100 quite well till now.
I downloaded the images from MS.
Today suddenly my x64 gave the BSOD..
At the end of BSOD some ACPI error is mentioned
I downloaded the new updates & system was installing them when BSOD occured...
The strange thing is that I tried to repair thru every possible means from safe mode to EMS & by starting from the DVD but it failed.(Every try ends at BSOD)
Now the problem is When I try to boot from the x64 DVD(from which I installed) after "Loading files" the BSOD comes when screen says Windows Starting. Even before the glowing animation!
I disconnected my all HDD drives but still no success.
This combination of drivers works fine in windows vista 32 bit.. boots up fine and everything. Today I finally got my SSDD for my OS and a copy of Windows 7 64 bit. I installed it fine without error. Then installed my chipset drivers that I downloaded off of Nvidia's website (64 bit, worked fine, rebooted), installed my nvidia display drivers, rebooted.. now whenever I start windows up. I get the flowery blue background windows logo. It just hangs there and never boots. However it will boot fine into safe mode and after I uninstall the display drivers... though my gaming computer is going to be pretty useless if I can't game with it!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've spent a couple days trying to install the Realtek audio drivers onto my machine, but I can't get the installer to work properly. It looks like it's copied a lot of files to C:Program Files (x86)Realtek, but after I restart there are only four files copied there and the drivers haven't been successfully installed.
These are the only drivers I've had trouble with, and I was wondering if someone could give me directions on exactly how to install the drivers. No one else seems to have had trouble installing them, so I must be doing something wrong.
So i installed windows 7 late last night (from xp Pro) and everything seemed to work fine but these audio drivers (seems to be a common enough issue as far as i can tell)
I've downloaded or installed 3 versions of the drivers. The ones that came with the MotherBoard(Abit IL9 Pro) disc, but it gives me an "error -001"
Second I located these "Windows 7 and vista drivers" from their site showing versions 6505 and 6503 - Both of these gets stuck on a screen that says "These drivers cannot be installed because they are no digitally signed" And it just loops when i try clicking on "install anyway."
Last i tried running them from the run menu with string attached to the end (silent install i think it was called) same digitally signed message again.
Any ideas?
So, I've had my computer for a few years. But I didn't have the Realtek drivers installed for my onboard soundcard (I'm unsure if they were never there or they'd disappeared) and therefore none of the Realtek software installed, and I needed them, so I found, downloaded, and installed the right one for my Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 motherboard. (I installed from The installation went through fine. Now, no sound is coming out, at least out of any of the three rear 3.5mm jacks for 5.1-surround-sound. Interestingly, the microphone input still works, though.I tested a USB headset I have and it works fine (Realtek doesn't recognize the input or output of the USB headset), and I tested two different 3.5mm headsets and neither of them work (but the 3.5 microphone jack did work and *was* recognized by Realtek). When I go to the "Windows Playback Devices" manager it shows my computer playing sound on the correct device but no sound is actually going through the jacks. I've gone to the device manager and tried disabling the only other sound *device* showing up, which was "ATI HDMI Audio". I've tried restarting multiple times, replugging the jacks, trying both setero and 5.1 configs, playing with a few enhancements and settings like the bitrate and exclusivity options.[CODE]

You can try to permanently disable this "feature" of Windows 7 x64 by searching Google. Please do not ask me how as I do not use x64 and
don't know. But there is a way. If you can't find it, for x64, you will have to use f8 or similar key to start the machine each time.
1) Download the latest desktop driver for Windows 7 and the card that is closest to yours from NVIDIA's website.
2) Extract the installer to C:NVIDIA - Close installer after extraction. It is not needed now any longer.
3) Find NV_DISP.inf and open it in notepad.
4) Look at the models of cards listed. Choose to edit one that is closest to yours.
5) Open device manager. Right click on standard vga or your video card and choose properties. Details tab. Change drop down to hardware ids. The second line down is of interest here.
6) In the .inf, scroll to the bottom [Strings] section. Again, look for most similar desktop model. Change the beginning part to match what you found in last step 5. For example:
NVIDIA_DEV.0421.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT"
and you have 8400M GT, change it to
NVIDIA_DEV.0426.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT"
7) Now look up higher in the .inf and search for the number you edited. In this case, "0421" will lead you to this line:
%NVIDIA_DEV.0421.01% = Section010, PCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0421
8) In this line, edit like this and add your particular string from step 5:
%NVIDIA_DEV.0426.01% = Section010, PCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0426&SUBSYS_9016104D
Note the changes made between step 7 and this in red. Do similar for your particular hardware string.
9) Save the .inf (ctrl+s)
10) Right click on standard vga in device manager. Click update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick from a list. Have disk. Browse. Find the .inf you just edited and double click on it. Hit ok so it installs.
11) Reboot and rerun the .exe from step 1 until completion, to install the NVIDIA control panel.

During the installation the screen turns black and flickers (like its supposed to) and then all of a sudden the screen darkens and pixel by pixel start turning white. restarting the computer in normal mode and during the boot screen the same thing happens. it darkens then pixels turn white the only way to get it only way to get it out of this mode is to go into safe mode and uninstall the driver. i have tried re-installing the driver and reformatting the computer and installing windows again. Ive been trying to make sure that all my drivers are up to date, so I've got the program Driver Max to make sure that they are the latest versions. Ok so as I understand it, things like:
'Intel (R) ICH10 Express Root Port 1-5 etc'
'Intel (R) ICH10 SMBus Controller -3A30'
'Intel (R) ICH10 LPC Interface Controller - 3A16'
And all of those related things are what the chip set driver update's? If I'm wrong please explain how I update those things. If I'm right then why would it say they were out of date when I've gone to the Intel site and used the driver detection feature and it says I'm up to date?

After suggestions from Torrentg and BlackRoseMD1 (many thanks again) on this forum I have upgraded my BIOS to version 1801 and attempted to install the nVidia 195.39 beta driver. Unfortunately the result was the same. The install gets to about 40% then both screens go black.
After about 30 secs to a minute the secondary monitor shows a garbled desktop after which it to goes black. After a further minute or so the system reboots and checks the disk for errors - continuing, the screens go black just after the win 7 logo disappears.
I am unable to launch bluetooth even after downloading the latest driver.
