View 6 RepliesI bought an Nvidia 570gtx and I am able to have both audio and sound to play on my TV as a second monitor. However to do this I have to go into windows 7 screen resolution screen and duplicate the displays though ones 1900x1200 and the Tv is 1920x1080 causing the PC screen to look funky but I can live with it to launch the games.I than have to go into the sound properties and set the default for the system to the HDMI cable and I can play my games on the TV like I want. (about 30 feet away)When done I have to come back and undue each setting to get control back to my PC.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently had to purchase a brand new motherboard because my last one died on me and now I am having a strange problem. I can not seem to play any video games without the sound from the game turning off and pausing any music I happen to be listening to. I can turn back on the Music by skipping ahead in the song track but the game sound stays off until it resolves itself after a few minutes.

I have found a number of cards that would take care of my graphics needs but all seem to require a much larger power supply. Really having a tough time getting advice on upgrading the power. How important is it to have more power?I have 200w; most upgrade video cards require 350w- 600w. Can I get away with what I have? If not, what are the options?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn the upgrade of an old Dell 4500S for a friend (whose monitor died, so we started from there) I upgraded the 256MB of memory with 2GB, and upgraded the 20GB hard drive with a 60GB version. The old dead monitor was replaced by a Samsung S20B300B 20" 16x9 LCD whose native resolution is 1600x900. However the old onboard Intel i845g GPU graphics chip in the 4500S (82845G) is supported by old drivers that do not have a 1600x900 resolution option. There is one pretty close rectangular resolution available, 1280x768 but it's a bit cartoonish.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI very recently graduated and as a congratulations, my brother-in-law gave me a brand new Nvidia 9800GTX for my computer. I was running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit when I installed it and I immediately saw a drastic increase in performance. However, when I turned my computer off for the night, I noticed that it would hang at the shut down screen and never actually turn off.Refusing to believe that the new card was at fault, and having next to nothing on my C partition after my most recent formatting, I decided to go ahead and reinstall Windows to hopefully fix the issue. This is where my other problems started in. Suddenly Windows Explorer was crashing whenever I tried to use my disk drive and my system would randomly lock up. After assuming my install went wrong, I tried reinstalling twice more and neither worked. Finally, I got fed up and reinstalled my 32-bit copy of Windows 7 Professional and it still didn't work. As of now I've removed the new card and put my old 9500GT back in to find that I'm not having a single problem with the 9500.
View 6 Replies View Relatedhow can I play a video in jet audio (or any other media program) on one monitor while I play a fullscreen game on the other. I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 for about a year now and I really didn't have any problems up until a few months ago. My mouse pointer would start refreshing/flickering every 5 minutes or so and it would slow down anything I was watching or playing at the time. It doesn't really bother me when I watch movies because I can just shake the mouse and it would stop but when I play games I can't do anything about it and so I can't really play any games. I asked my repair man, he also has Windows 7 but he didn't know how to fix it.

I am trying to play some games, but I can't because of this problem. I only have 64mb dedicated video memory, when in fact, I have 1696mb graphics memory. Also, there is a combined graphics card, one worse than the other, and I always seem to be suing the worse one, whne i want to use the better one. BTW, I am using an ASUS.
