View 2 Replies View RelatedCurrently I am using a Dell laptop with XP which is connected to my house's wireless connection. SSID itself is an open WEP. I had no problem connecting with the XP laptop; it asked me for a password, I put it in and it worked. When I try connecting with my other Dell laptop with Windows 7, it won't ask me for a password and say, "Windows was unable to connect to _____."
I then tried manually connecting to the wireless connection under the network settings. I've tried all WEP options and made sure the password was correct countless times and still I'm unable to connect to the wifi.
I spoke with a Dell representative, but all they suggested was to pay for another help service.
I have two operating systems installed on my Sony Vaio VPCF115FG, Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
Wi-Fi is working fine on both, however, LAN connections are only working on Windows 8 but not Windows 7. It reads the LAN connection in Windows 7 but it does not actually connect to the internet. I honestly tried everything, including uninstalling the LAN driver and reinstalling it, no use.
This is an error I received before: [URL]
1st, sorry for my English, I'm french and I'm not really good in IT.I have an ASUS with an Athros Wireless R9285.Since the last update, I can't connect in wifi anymore (but it's ok with the cable, and ok with my other computer).I first though it was the on/off wifi button, or the Fn/F2 command, but no. Then, I tried to connect/unconnect the card, change the power specification, try all the anti viruses I've got and make a "restauration" at a date before the update and so the issue.

Can this be done on windows 7? If not will it work if I do it on windows server 2008 r2 via creating a dhcp server?
I have just bought a new laptop and cannot connect to my wireless network. The wired one works fine. However, I need the wireless to work at home.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI seem to have a problem with my WiFi. Left-clicking the wireless icon in system tray doesn't work as in literally nothing happens. When I open the network and sharing center and click on "connect to a network" then also nothing happens. Right now it's only a minor problem, because my laptop auto-connects to networks it already knows but when I want to connect to a public WiFi in a cafe for example I can't look up any networks. Also I'd like to point out that setting up a new connection to connect to a WiFi works but for that I need to already know the network name and security type. Windows can't find any problems either and I've reinstalled all network adapter drivers.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 home and have run into a bit of an issue. I have a program on my computer that runs through the internet. At my home, it connects fine and I am able to run it without any issues, but I go to school and connect to their WiFi and it stalls on the connecting prompt. Everything else I run and the internet works fine, I have re-installed the program and made sure it wasn't blocked from public access on firewall.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was on my laptop, connected to the Internet, going about as normal. My Wifi Internet went out completely and then would not reconnect. When I tried plugging directly in to our modem, it came up with error 633. It seems like one of my programs is interfering with it being able to connect. I haven't added or changed any programs recently, I've only uninstalled a few games/programs that weren't in any way related to the modem.
What programs could be the cause of error 633? Is there a list? Or is there another way to fix it? I can add more detail if needed. Well, I went out today and left my computer on while I was gone. When I came back, it was connected to the Wifi again. I've been using it for a bit, but now it's going on and off again. It's on for the moment though...
I am looking for a 64bit driver for this scanner. Fujitsu tech support has been way less than useless, telling me that they have no plans to do a 64bit driver. Does anybody else have this flatbed scanner? Is there a work around?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy goal is to forge a setup where I am able to conveniently stream media from my home media PC to my Android smartphone (Galaxy 3S). I am currently able to stream video to my phone while I'm at home on my Wi-Fi connection using the "Nearby Devices" option in the phone that appears to engage DLNA. When I do this, I get the option to stream from Windows Media Player's streaming system. My question then is how do I access my home PC information while mobile-browsing? I've got 4G service (big deal....) and would like the ability to access my home content while on the go. From my limited understanding of this goal, I see the option of using a VPN or something of that nature to create a secure connection through the computer's firewall so I can access the media server; is this going to work? Would this essentially be considered a "remote desktop" scenario? Asked another way: is a remote desktop connection a VPN?I'm looking for some suggestions on how to pull this off. If you have suggestions, like "use this VPN and open these ports and blah blah blah", I'd need some how-to because I've never tried to do this. I know a person can buy some programs that say they will take care of doing this, but how hard can it be? It's just a client-server relationship between the phone and the PC, right? Open a port, run a secure connection, log-in, etc?
View 2 Replies View RelatedLately I've been getting a sound prompt telling me a device is not connecting. Everything I need seems to be so I can't figure it out.
It's just a bit of a nuisance but I'd like to find out. Is there a command prompt to ask the computer what isn't connecting?
I noticed couple of times that i don't see one of my drives in the Computer window. It also not showing up in the Disk Management window. I didn't know the cause till now. I tried reseating the cables and some other suggestions online with no luck.
Today i noticed the cause: If i am connecting a USB memory or external HDD to the front USB panel it disappears. Disconnecting it (the USB component) won't show the drive back in the list.
I have:
120GB SSD as my C drive.
1TB HDD as D drive.
2TB HDD as E drive.
All are SATA.
The D drive is the one that gets disappear.
I have a big problem with a MP3 Player which I use it as a storage device. It has only 512 MB and I decided to use it as a stick. A long time ago i had encountered the problem shown in the "TITLE". So when i connect the device in ANY usb port it connects and disconnects every 3 seconds continously. Don't forget that this is only a MP3 player and on the box it is mentioned that is driverless. Until this problem the device was working well and i could use it as a little stick. I tried to uninstall the driver in Device Manager and to desable it but every time the same thing. The most important thing is now.....I connected it on a laptop and it works and i saw that the laptop has the same driver...I mean when i connect it it installs a driver. Also i can connect to my PC (where this problem occurs to my MP3 player) other usb devices such as hard disks printers webcams and everything works fine. So this means that the problem is not to the USB or the PM3 Player or driver...

I will soon be buying a few new computers for the small business I work for. We are looking to get top-of-the-line computers that will last us another 10 years or so, so I'd like to go with Windows 7 64-bit Professional.
We were at first a bit concerned, though, that the main program we use, DataEase for DOS (yes, I know it's antiquated, lol) wouldn't work, but we've been told it should work fine through a Virtual PC emulated environment running WinXP.
What concerns us now, though, is whether or not we will be able to continue using our old Fujitsu DL4600 dot-matrix printers. We need these printers for printing on three-part paper to get signatures and such.
I'm quite sure there is no 64-bit driver available for these printers, but since we are going to be running XP through Virtual PC - will we be able to print to these printers through that emulated environment?
I need the Network Card driver for Scaleo T so i can at least connect through an Ethernet Cable. Any advice?

I have set the screen resolution to SXGA 1400 × 1050. However, when I flip the screen to tablet mode or when I login after suspend, the screen flickers (goes black for a second) and the resolution switches to 1024x768. I have looked in many places for a solution. Problem still persists.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there any way I can force 1920 * 1200 (or 1080) resolution, using this hardware: Fujitsu Scaleo L22-1W display and GeForce 9600M GT GPU. Native resolution for this display is 1680 * 1050 at 59 Hz.
I am building a HTPC system using a spare HP Pavilion dv7 laptop, basically the same specs than those I've listed in my system specs. I would like to use it with two displays, the mentioned L22-1W and and a full HD plasma TV from laptops HDMI out, desktop duplicated not extended, laptops own display disconnected because this GPU allows max two displays at the same time.
Problem is this duplicated desktop. This GPU allows a FullHD resolution ONLY when a HDMI device is the only display connected, or when multi display settings are on extended desktop. If I choose duplicate desktop, it allows the HDMI device resolutions only up to the max of that second display, in this case 1680*1050.
If this is not possible, I'll buy a new display with FullHD resolution. I just want first to test if I could make this system from spares I already have.
i have installed Windows 7 on this machine to test and it works perfectly except for the sound, Intel(R) 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC Interface Controller - 27B9 is the only thing wrong when i go into device manager driver upto date, and don't know if this is the problem but, have done some googling for additional drivers but to no avail and fujitsi have no solution, tried the vista solutions still no go. anyone who can point me in right direction which is probably staring me in the face.
