Lately I've been getting a sound prompt telling me a device is not connecting. Everything I need seems to be so I can't figure it out.
It's just a bit of a nuisance but I'd like to find out. Is there a command prompt to ask the computer what isn't connecting?
I have 2 8600 GT 512 video cards, 4GB installed RAM, etc... in device manager one of the cards is enabled, one says
"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."
It worked fine in XP. I have 2 additional displays I'd like to control with the second video card. I do not have them connected in Sli. I uploaded a pic of the error message.
I'm having a strange issue with my Windows 7 Lenovo S10 netbook and a friends WEP enabled router. I am able to connect to my home network wr54g linksys on WPA and at the office there's a guest network running (oddly) a 104bit WEP that I can use. However at my friends house I was trying to connect to his DI-524 Dlink router and recevied some very strange (to me) messages.
I'm wondering if Windows 7 has some kind of issue with older versions of WEP and possibly lower encryption? Potentially could it be simply that if we kick up the encryption it will work? I'm fairly confident that if I convince him to kick it to WPA it will work - but where's the fun in that.
I'm using windows 7 ultimate edition. no McAfee, No Anti-Virus.
Couldn't find either the WMnet1 nor WMnet8 to Disable.
I got a new hard drive for my HP Pavilion DV6T-6000. Installed windows 7 ultimate and a bunch of drivers from HP's drivers section for my computer and I still have this unkown device. It wasn't there on my old drive so something isn't right here.

I am currently able to stream video to my phone while I'm at home on my Wi-Fi connection using the "Nearby Devices" option in the phone that appears to engage DLNA. When I do this, I get the option to stream from Windows Media Player's streaming system.My question then is how do I access my home PC information while mobile-browsing? I've got 4G service (big deal....) and would like the ability to access my home content while on the go. From my limited understanding of this goal, I see the option of using a VPN or something of that nature to create a secure connection through the computer's firewall so I can access the media server; is this going to work? Would this essentially be considered a "remote desktop" scenario? Asked another way: is a remote desktop connection a VPN?I'm looking for some suggestions on how to pull this off. If you have suggestions, like "use this VPN and open these ports and blah blah blah", I'd need some how-to because I've never tried to do this. I know a person can buy some programs that say they will take care of doing this, but how hard can it be? It's just a client-server relationship between the phone and the PC, right? Open a port, run a secure connection, log-in, etc?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed couple of times that i don't see one of my drives in the Computer window. It also not showing up in the Disk Management window. I didn't know the cause till now. I tried reseating the cables and some other suggestions online with no luck.
Today i noticed the cause: If i am connecting a USB memory or external HDD to the front USB panel it disappears. Disconnecting it (the USB component) won't show the drive back in the list.
I have:
120GB SSD as my C drive.
1TB HDD as D drive.
2TB HDD as E drive.
All are SATA.
The D drive is the one that gets disappear.
I have a big problem with a MP3 Player which I use it as a storage device. It has only 512 MB and I decided to use it as a stick. A long time ago i had encountered the problem shown in the "TITLE". So when i connect the device in ANY usb port it connects and disconnects every 3 seconds continously. Don't forget that this is only a MP3 player and on the box it is mentioned that is driverless. Until this problem the device was working well and i could use it as a little stick. I tried to uninstall the driver in Device Manager and to desable it but every time the same thing. The most important thing is now.....I connected it on a laptop and it works and i saw that the laptop has the same driver...I mean when i connect it it installs a driver. Also i can connect to my PC (where this problem occurs to my MP3 player) other usb devices such as hard disks printers webcams and everything works fine. So this means that the problem is not to the USB or the PM3 Player or driver...

I've done a fresh install of Windows 7 yesterday on my desktop PC and I want to use the virtual PC for some USB hardware that doesn't have any x64 drivers.
I can choose the USB devices fine in the virtual machine, they are detected and XP starts the usual hardware install wizard.
However one of my devices gets the yellow exclamation mark in the device manager with a code 10 (device cannot start).
The virtual machine runs XP SP3, my laptop runs XP SP3 as well and there is no problem on there with this hardware. This leads me to believe that it might be a windows 7 Vmachine issue that is causing this.
I've tried removing the hardware and installing it again, but that didn't solve the problem.
Any ideas for a possible solution?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSomehow I messed up install of a PCI wireless adapter. Device Manager says 'device not working properly because it can't load drivers: code 31.
I've pulled the adapter card out. ran the computer awhile without it, reinstalled it and same problem.
Then I did the registry thing about upper and lower filter deletion but the filters are not listed. Yeah I went to the right place in the registry to look.
Windows 7 ultimate 64, my Atapi iHAS124 B ata CD/DVD device keeps "disappearing" try running the Microsoft "fis it now"...and get A driver service for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. Code 32 Tried uninstalling the device and installing new drivewr....same result. This is the 2nd time it has happened...last time I ended up having to rebuild the system from scratch.
