Something happened to my computer, all my text became Italicized, tried the registry value fixed, but all that happened is change that fonts to sans serif or something similar, some texts are still italicized, and I cant use/see the arial font anymore.

Attempts to remove the extra copies are refused with a "cannot remove protected system font" message. I'm afraid the duplicates are messing up font management on my system, since saving an .svg file in Adobe Illustrator causes that image to show Times, not Arial, in a browser.How can I be sure my Windows 7 Fonts folder is correct?

Since I find it much faster to move the "beam" cursor around with the arrow keys (and CTRL+Arrow key to jump over whole words), I frequently use that instead of the mouse to reposition the cursor, handy if I want to go back a few words and add or change something.
However on many sites, using the arrow keys fails to move the beam, yet the actual input position does change.
For example, I'll press "CRTL+Left Arrow" a few times to jump back three words. On the screen the beam stops flashing but stays put, yet if I start to type the typing starts where the beam should have ended up if it moved properly.
still using IE 8 because Zonealarm toolbar doesn't work on IE 9 as yet. Her Homepage msnine is suddenly, in the last 3 days, showing "italicized" writing in the news headlines. My msn9 homepage with IE 9 has the normal font. Can anyone inform me what has occurred and how to fix it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI suddenly started seeing this ugly font (see images below) on many webpages.I think this issue began right around the time I installed some other fonts, but I am not sure. Initially, I figured it was a Chrome thing but have since confirmed the issue extends to IE and Firefox, leading me to believe this is a Windows issue. By the time I tried to revert the changes via System Restore, it was too late (restore only went back a few days; maybe I need to adjust settings there?).I tried to reset the default font but Windows does not seem to respond to that. When I click "Restore to default font settings" the button greys out but nothing else happens. No dialog box and no change in the issue.

I think the cause may be that somehow my Arial.ttf got removed from my fonts folder? Attached is a screenshot of my install Arial fonts. Are these all I should have or am I missing one? View 4 Replies View RelatedOk this is wierd I have a client using Office 2007 pro and some of her docs that she recently updated and the problem is when she prints the docs text that she deleted is printing over the top of new text she inserted into the doc.
Now when you have said doc open in WORD the deleted text is not there in any view and does NOT show in "print preview".
I opened said doc with WORDPAD and the deleted text shows up at the bottom so its still in the word doc somewhere imbedded so it prints over the top of the actual text in the doc.

For instance, if I wanted to copy the following bolded word word and then paste it anywhere else in the document, I now get this: word (without the bold). Iv'e been using it with the cpu the same time I bought the monitor.But after some time, the flickering got worse. It went from 1-2 second interval flickers to a whole 10 seconds of blackness before it showed anything.Now,Iv'e got a new cpu but still using the old monitor. After a day or so, the monitor exhibited the first symptoms of my first cpu, so I just dismissed it. But after a week, It got a hell worse, before I even start-up my computer, the monitor doesn't show Analog/Digital at the top-left corner of the screen. PLUS my cpu keeps restarting after I pushed the ON button after 10 seconds or so. Is the monitor responsible for the restart and what could be the reason for the flickering?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe other day I went to restart my computer, on restart it showed the motherboard info for longer than usual maybe 10-20 secs then proceeded to boot windows. About 2-3 days later I was doing a few things, computer froze so I manually had to shut off and turn back on the computer and it would show the motherboard information and not do anything from there just sit there. Tried to boot again maybe 3 times and nothing changed. Everything powered up fine ect ect. Took the case off looked at a few things, everything looked fine. Turned it back on and it booted right away like normal. Didn't have the keyboard plugged in so I had to restart again and was going to anyways to see what it would do and it booted just fine again.

Yesterday I was using my laptop as normal and suddenly the internet disconnected, and then refused to reconnect. I tried to troubleshoot in Network and Sharing Centre but nothing came up, so I restarted to see if this helped. After restarting the internet still wasn't working (I have a wireless connection) so I thought the problem may have been due to a system update that was installed that morning, so I did a system restore to that point. However, upon restarting, the computer stopped on a black screen.I then turned the laptop off at the switch and back on again, however the computer got to the stage that the log-in screen should come up and remained black. Now, whenever I try to turn the computer on, it gets to just before the log-in screen and remains black (however the mouse remains on screen and can be moved) - also, Safe Mode doesn't start either and stops at a black screen shortly after I choose to start it.
