How I can completely uninstall System Mechanic from computer running windows 7? I tried following the instructions at this thread here: [URL] but it seems windows 7 has a different way of handling the uninstall.
I have system mechanic program which supposes to keep pc running well which to a point it does but because I use outlook 2003 as email client it now jams as it wants to clear attachment cache, I presume Outlook will not let it. Any ideas of an easy way to clear cache or can I remove Outlook 2003( part of office 2003) and use another email client.Systme mechanic is ok on laptop with xp, Avast running on both machines.

I installed Playon on my computer. My trial has expired and I want to remove the software completely so I can reinstall it and use another trial period. I am having frequent network connection drop, old & well reported problem with no real cure so I want to update the new Marvell Yukon driver but when I uninstall the present driver windows roll back to the older version, I even tried uninstalling the Ethernet card but on next reboot the windows automatically installs the old driver.
Is there a way that I completely get rid of all the past version drivers installed for this & only the new version should remain there.
I installed Tune Up Utilities, used it for a while, then uninstalled, using Windows 7 Manager instead. Anyway, I uninstalled it, and I even used Your Uninstaller 2010 which deleted all extra reg entries etc, but for some reason my recycle bin still says "TuneUp Undelete", and who knows how much other crap is left over. I restarted and still there.
There is only one user on my computer - me. So is it possible to bypass the user system completely or would that require a full re-write of the filing system? Seems to me that I have little if any control over where files are stored. For instance, every time I download a file, it is stored in downloads by default. I then have to fish it out from this directory to save it where I want it saved.
I been backup my system to second internal hard drive E. But the system image file take almost 160 gb that take up too much space. So I want to change to backup my system to an external hard drive. Now even I did delete all backup files in E: drive. But looks like that 160 gb system image still in my E: drive. Because when I check my E: drive properties I still missing 160 gb space so I think that system image still in there somewhere. How can I completely delete that system image to free up that 160 gb space on my hard drive.

I over clocked my cpu from dual core to quad core but even after complete shut down by the window, cpu fan is working, cabinet LED is still on, motherboard LED is on as there is a current.
Which is totaly unusual as everything switches off automaticaly after complete shutdown in normal cpu condition.
My old computer was getting old, so I went ahead and ordered new parts from Newegg. HAF 912 case, GTX 560 Ti, Phenom II x4 975, 8 gigs G.Skill (2 x 4) 1333 DDR3, and a Biostar A880G+ mATX motherboard, and Windows 7 Home Premium OEM (in case). I planned on using the same HDD from my old system in the new one, so I didn't order a new one. Well, I built it, everything went smooth, it POSTed with one beep and the BIOS was fine. However, when I tried to boot from my drive, it would give a System Error screen, with either Repair Computer (or something similar) and Start Windows Normally. If I click Repair Computer, it stays that way for upwards of 30 minutes, not doing a thing. If I start Windows normally, the logo flashes for a second or two and BSoD's real quick, and shuts down before I can even see anything. Then it restarts and goes to the System Error screen. Then, when I take my HDD and put it in my old system, it boots up same as is always does. That's how I'm typing here.
I've also tried changing the boot order so that the Windows 7 disc is first, but it just goes to Set Up, which is, I'm guessing, not what I want to happen.I'm hoping that it's a really simple mistake on my part, and that I messed up on something super easy, because I don't want to have to send back any parts.
my sound gets knocked out by registry mechanic or just changing my head phones ..has happened several times ..find a fix and then it goes for months and its gone again..? the driver says no files there so they were there yesterday?.
Ever since I removed some malware I cannot run a program that is vital to my job. It tries to do a software update (which it does periodically) and encounters this error: "Message 0x1047 in SUBVMCHK Another application is in the process of updating. Please wait while this update completes." I click ok and the program shuts down. I cannot uninstall the program (I get error 1060). Is there a registry key missing? Earliest system restore does not work.
I have a C-media sound card (CMI8738/C3DX PCI audio device) that was running fine on XP. But since I changed to Windows 7, the sound became choppy and delayed when watching videos. I used the same driver that I used on XP, I tried updating but Windows 7 said its already up-to-date.
The worst part: I tried uninstalling the driver and my PC turned grayish white..one time I even saw pixels of my mouse on the corner screen, much like a distorted screen of some sort. Even disabling the device crashed the screen same as uninstalling it (like a BSoD). Now I can't change the driver.

Also, my MOBO had internal sound cards running previously on realtek that got busted after an internal short circuit...damn. Its undetected at the device manager.
My laptop has been playing random ads and music, literally out of nowhere. I click out of everything turn off the wifi AND logout and it will still be playing. Its been doing that on and off for months. My other protection expired some months ago, so I got the update last week which was $89. But the 1st thing it said was to "Uninstall the previous security system". So i let it run, and it was "uninstalling" for 3 whole days and then it just stopped, So i tried to manually uninstall the other program, but again it would not. I am not sure what to do now.
i want to install another os - ubuntu but i installed it but wen i start up windows 7 appears next to ubuntu is there any way of completely removin win 7 and leaving ubuntu as the default os
My laptop originally had Windows Vista Home Premium x86 on it, but I upgraded it to Windows 7 Ultimate x86. Is there any way to return to Windows Vista Home Premium?
PS: I don't want to do this, I'm just saving it as a last resort because of this registry problem I am having.
I have Windows 7 and openSUSE running on my laptop. Windows 7 was installed first and SUSE later. Now I want to completely remove OPENSUSE and just keep windows 7. How do I do it.? coz Laptop boots viz grub. I heard if I remove Linux partition then windows might not boot because of GRUB. Can I do it with FIXMBR.
My HP desktop with Windows 7 and IE9 has had issues on some websites since I've had it. The issues are that some pages will not load completely or load at all and the back button sometime will work and sometime it will not. All of these issues are random and intermittent on the same sites. Sometimes the refresh button will work and sometimes it will not. It seems that if they work at all they should work all of the time but I don't know enough about computer systems to understand. Some say I should change to another browser. I've tried Google Chrome and Firefox and they have their problems as well. I know I can't be the only one having these type issues. I delete cookies on a regular schedule.
Well i had bough Gta IV for pc. And after some updates required by the game it needed to restart my pc, when it booted back up, it had said some files were corrupted and i couldnt boot the OS. I tried installing, but it kept saying boot Mgr was missing, and said to press ctrl alt and delete and restarted the system. After weeks of trying, i used an actual program on my laptop and burned an iso of windows 7 to a disc. I went thru the install and after using any somewhat demanding task or program like internet explorer it would freeze, mouse, keyboard, etc would freeze. I had to hard reset it. Now most of the time it gets to where it shows the green, blue and red colors or something spinning to form the windows logo and then freezes. Ive tried various methods of switching around hardware like video cards, switchin ram, etc. Still same results. Ran memtest and cant get results due to it freezing.
We just acquired a new laptop with Win7 HP preloaded. One of the first things I did was try to make a System Repair CD (Start/All Programs/Maintenance/Create a System Repair Disc). The CD burning process seemed to go normally. When I tried to run the disc, it seemed to load normally until it got to a screen with the "streaks in the sky" wallpaper and then it stopped. There were no menus, messages, or anything except the wallpaper. I made two discs using a name brand with the same result. I know disc quality used to be an issue but I didn't think this was so these days among the name brands.

I have a old laptop that I installed w7 on. I was getting slow, so I wanted to get it so empty as possible. I have backed up all my files. Now I want everything to go, and start with a virgin windows 7.
When I installed win 7 it saved all my files to windows old (as it should) and all programs are left int c:/programfiles/.
How can I get rid of everything? I tried clean in the diskpart command. But it says it cannot(because of having system files on it).
When I boot my Win 7 machine and logon the desktop loads just fine, but when I click on the start button it freezes and doesn't come back - I can't click on anything. I think I've managed to narrow it down to being a problem with the DHCP service by disabling all services in msconfig and reenabling each one in turn. Everything was fine until I enabled the DHCP service - even starting manually after it has booted caused the issue to come back.

I want to know if there is a way to manually delete the index.dat files completely off my computer in Windows 7. If not, is there a utility that you would recommend that is safe and effective to use? Although I can get around on my computer just fine, I am in no way an advanced user.
So I done a full installation of ubuntu, its been good but I want to go back to windows 7 but I cant find out how to remove my full Ubuntu installation to restore using my Windows 7 Op system disc...
