Thought it was enough uninstalling the two entries in "Programs and Features" but there is still two or more services left behind as well as a folder in: "C:WindowsWindowsMobile", and the WMDC icon in the control panel.

how to completely uninstall/remove WMDC? My guess is that i have to dive into the registry?

How To Remove Ubuntu Entries At The Boot Up Time Of Windows 7

Jun 3, 2011

I have Windows 7 OEM version. Recently my friend installed Ubuntu to work on it. After some time I removed Ubuntu through Add Remove programs but whenever I start my computer at the time of booting, it asks me to choose out of 3 entries :-- Windows 7, Ubuntu, Ubuntu.

Now, I wish to remove these 2 Ubuntu entries and I understand I have to remove some multi disk partition entries for Ubuntu, in bootmgr.dll... right??

How can I remove these two Ubuntu entries??

PS: This is for the moderators--I hope this doesn't come under "black-listed issues". According to my understanding, a simple meddling with bootmgr.dll such as the above doesn't qualify to come under "hacking"..or any other black list issues...

Completely Remove Steam From Computer?

Oct 7, 2012

Steam recently messed up on me last week. Now, I have to wait around five minutes to log in. If I click on anything while logging in, Steam will crash. The same thing happens while launching a game. I've looked all over and have found several ways to fix it, but none of them work. People tell me "Well don't click on anything and it wont crash and you'll be able to log in or play your game." That isn't the case. It never did that before, there is no reason it should do it now. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Steam, that did not fix the problem. I know most of the time when you uninstall something, it doesn't completely get rid of every file that it created or it installed. Most of the time, it just gets rid of the files that it installed in "Program Files" and/or "Program Files x86" and I want to erase everything, so I can try to do a clean installation of Steam. I'm talking about if there is any files left in my Registry or Appdata folder, I want them removed. So does anybody know of files that stay on your computer after it uninstalls? I already deleted a Valve folder that stayed in my Registry after uninstall. It was located at HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareValve

How To Completely Remove A User Account

Dec 12, 2010

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on HP DC7600.I was really surprised that this old Microsoft issue/problem somehow got carried over all the way from the bad old days to new/shiny Windows 7.I have a main User account with Administrator privileges that is my 'daily driver'.I recently created a second User Account for Test purposes.[I'm a tech and need to try things sometimes].A week or so ago I "deleted" the User Account using the proper method...the way MS would have me to, in the UAC settings Control Panel. Today, due to another issue I am now having [never had before] I got to wondering if the old issue of ever-present zombie User Accounts was in this rig. YES it is. Checked into Documents & Settings and Registry and the account is still there in one state or another. How do I COMPLETELY eradicate that Account and all its traces?

How To Completely Remove Pre-installed Software

Aug 25, 2011

I bought a new sony vaio laptop Win 7-64bit that of course came with preinstalled software which I would like to delete. Norton Internet Security and Microsoft Office 2010. The Norton is just a 30 day trial which looks like it got installed somehow the first time we took the laptop online. No idea about the MSoft Office but I'm sure it's just a trial also. Can anyone tell me if just going through the normal windows uninstall will be enough to remove this stuff from my system or will I still need to get special removal tools from their sites?

Remove Ubuntu 12.04 From Netbook?

Jun 10, 2012

The first time...well, was a failure on my part. Got the error screen upon reboot because the MBR was still looking for Ubuntu when it wasn't there. The second time I ran EasyBCD and it said Windows 7 was my only entry in the bootloader. Then I deleted my Ubuntu partition and when rebooting, I got the same GRUB error screen. I have a netbook so I don't have a Windows disk. I do have a USB drive if that helps.

Installed Ubuntu Deleted The Ubuntu Partitions

Jul 4, 2010

I recently installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my HP Mini 110-1116NR, then deleted the partitions that had Ubuntu on them, not knowing that Ubuntu comes with GRUB2, and sets itself as the default boot for that system. Now that GRUB2 is not installed, since it was on my only HDD, it looks for the GRUB2 partition, which does not exist.

Remove Ability To Restore Automatic Updates?

May 31, 2011

With the number of updates that come for Windows 7, there must be a lot of space used up by the files which make it possible to uninstall KB updates and hotfixes, and security updates. Is there any way to get rid of these? It is at least a week since an update was installed, and my system is running fine, so I don't see why I should be able to uninstall the 37 updates to Windows listed in Control Panel - Programs and Features - Installed Updates. Some of them go back nearly a year.Over time, these backups are going to take up a significant space in the Wiondows partition.

Do Disc Cleaning Programs Remove Restore Points

Jul 29, 2011

Seeing as I was having a few problems with recently installed software, I decided to run a system restore, only to find that all of the restore points but one had disappeared (including those I had deliberately created in the past for emergencies). From what I've been reading on the internet, the disappearance of restore points with Windows 7 is a relatively common occurrence, and some forum members have suggested that disc cleaning software like CCleaner and Advanced SystemCare 4 could be responsible.

Windows 7 / IE 9 - Some Pages Will Not Load Completely

Oct 20, 2012

My HP desktop with Windows 7 and IE9 has had issues on some websites since I've had it. The issues are that some pages will not load completely or load at all and the back button sometime will work and sometime it will not. All of these issues are random and intermittent on the same sites. Sometimes the refresh button will work and sometimes it will not. It seems that if they work at all they should work all of the time but I don't know enough about computer systems to understand. Some say I should change to another browser. I've tried Google Chrome and Firefox and they have their problems as well. I know I can't be the only one having these type issues. I delete cookies on a regular schedule.
