I mean that what should appear as white didn't appear white, instead it appeared creamy (i.e. according to RGB scheme, the red content in the display was more than what is required.)To fix this, I did thisRight Click Desktop > Personalize > Display > Calibrate Color and then adjusted the red and green bars to make the color settings proper. Now, the display is as I want it to be.The problem is that when the PC reboots or when an UAC window pops up, the settings are lost and again my display becomes 'warm'/creamy. I've tried going to Control Panel > Color Management and doing what this says:

Oct 12, 2010I am trying to set my monitor's screen give accurate renditions of my pictures. I use Quick Gamma to set gamma. When doing this I can use either Nvidia's controls or windows controls (right click desktop>Nvidia Control Panel. When using Nvidia's Control Panel, there are two choices: Use other applications control color settings or Use Nvidia settings. Am I correct in assuming that the former setting is Windows? I always check the button to use Nvidia settings (and then Apply>OK), but when I go back to this screen at a later time, the Other applications control color settings is always selected. I'd like to default to Nvidia.

Dec 7, 2011I got a new monitor recently - a Viewsonic VA2333-LED. I found that I didn't like the color settings and was not able to get the right color/gamma/brightness and contrast settings by using the monitor's menu. I have an Nvidia card, so next thing I did was to edit the color settings through the Nvidia control panel to just how I like them, I selected "Use NVIDIA settings", hit apply and saved the new settings. Looked great until I had to reboot my computer or it went into stand by at which point mysteriously the "Use NVIDIA settings" would become unchecked and my color was back to being an overexposed, bright white mess.
Next I tried the WIndows Color calibration. I went through the process saved the new color profile and set it as the default. Then, lo and behold, after my computer went to stand by, the color was right back to being crap. I even went so far as to delete the default profiles completely, leaving only my adjusted profile set as default. But again, when the monitor goes to stand by, the color settings that I created are lost. Here's the strangest part, when I enter the WIndows 7 color management screen, it still shows my profile as selected (even though clearly my settings are not applied). I have to uncheck the "Use my settings on this device" box and then recheck it and voila, my settings are back. And on top of that, my settings are only lost about 50% of the time that my computer goes to stand-by. On reboot, they work properly, but get lost half the time when the computer enters stand-by.

Sep 27, 2012I just bought a new laptop. Samsung brand. It has Windows 7 Home Premium on it. I know this is a known issue with Win 7. I calibrated my monitor and saved the settings but when the computer hibernates, goes to sleep, or shuts down the display settings revert back to the factory settings. I've heard that the "Intel Common User Interface Module" aka "igfxpers.exe" is the culprit. However, most users have found that if they disable it in the startup tab of "msconfig" this solves the issue. But, this program is not listed under my startup tab. Does anyone know anything about this issue and how the heck I can find this program and get rid of it?

When I look under windows display settings or NVIDEA settings there is not an option for a second monitor any more. There used to be. Now that I got a VGA spliter, there is not. I have tried a combination of everything from direct computer to 3 different monitors, all work perfectly, but when I attached 2 monitors with the spliter, all I get is the same image on each monitor.
When I hit detect, nothing happens, both monitors are identified as #1. Have rebooted, have updated, have done just about anything I can think of. Why would windows not show a second monitor option now?? Spliter and monitors work perfectly with the laptop and second older/slower computer. But on this better computer, faster and just should be a hell of a lot better computer, I am not getting the option for a second monitor.

Aug 8, 2011I have a new Dell laptop running W7. The screen tint is far too blue and I have found the controls in the display section where I can modify the colours (and gamma etc).
I can adjust everything with no problems, but much to my annoyance, when I boot up again, all the settings have reverted back to the factory, too blue settings.
(I think that the settings even get lost if the laptop powers itself down through the various hibernate/sleeps etc; although I'm not that familiar with all of those options so am not sure.)
So, my question is how can I get W7 to remember these settings?
Resolution Settings Dual Display Problem
Aug 10, 2009I have a dual head setup that works ok. My issue though is that whenever I do a reboot, I have to go into display resolution settings and re-enable "extend" displays.
Is there a way to make this persistent? It's just annoying doing a reboot and having to spend time re-organizing your desktop every time.

We've tried rebooting and disabling the secondary, external monitor, as well as disconnecting that monitor. She reset the computer from a restore point and that seemed to fix the display, but the computer still thinks it's in extended display mode and won't let that change. The Win + P hotkey also didn't seem to work.

Unicode Characters Failing To Display Properly (Font Settings May Be Repeatedly Corrupted Upon Restart)
Nov 13, 2011For some reason Windows 7 (Home Premium, 64-bit) has recently stopped displaying Unicode characters correctly. I know its a Windows issue, not specific to a certain program, because the problem appears on Asian characters and symbols like the stars in my song ratings across various programs like foobar2000, Mp3Tag, and iTunes. I don't think they work anywhere; I just happen to notice their absences (replaced by ugly square placeholders) in my media-related programs. One interesting thing is that restoring my default font settings via Control Panel appears to fix the problem every other time I restart (ie, I might be able to get Unicode working correctly if I always restore the default font settings before restarting or rebooting my PC - but that is heinously annoying).
The only possible cause I can think of is that I have had some programs to modify the Windows UI such as GDI++ to make the fonts Mac-like (decided ClearType was better rather quickly :P) and pieces of Stardock's suite including programs like WindowsBlinds, IconPackager, etc. I somewhat recently uninstalled all of them, but I didn't notice the problem right away, so I am not sure if they have anything to do with it.

Sep 23, 2012Now, just 3 days ago It started the BSOD issue.I realize that my GPU was the cause of this issue. When playing games or open 3d applications the temp goes 30C to 72C (In 15 seconds) then 82C - 85C constant (in about 30 seconds).Now I've been using MSI afterburner to check my temps and at fulload my GPU will be at 62-72C max temperature but now it's 10C even higher then before. No, I haven't fiddled with the voltage I set the GPU voltage to 1.037v which is the safest (been running this almost 8 months!). The GPU is the GTX 560ti.Is there a way to set the GPU on default settings or reset GPU settings in cmd or other professional way. I have uninstalled the drivers, uninstalling GPU, disabled GPU, disabled PCI-E slot and so on by using device manager and the issue still persist. Yes, I also have clean the GPU perfectly and still the temperature goes up to 82 seconds at 30seconds-45seconds. Yes, I have checked everything is set correctly and so on, I am a PC Tech.
Is the GPU damaged? Yes I have looked at this thread: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Mainly, I know its the GPU straight away, I tried checking old drivers, new drivers, another GPU overclocked software such as GPU tweak and EVGA Precision. I am thinking it's the GPU is damaged or the PCI-E is damaged (I have another PCI-E slot on my system and the issue still there). It might be the PCI-E frequency? but it's set to 100 which it meant to be, I just hope is software related because I don't have the money to buy a new card. Did the dump files help?

Sep 22, 2012Windows 7 64 turns off the monitor 1 signal after startup. At login, it powers off monitor 1 and powers on monitor 2. Windows 7 behaves as though dual display is working even though monitor 1 does not display. It's the same for single display, the monitor will not work on cable 1 except at startup.Both 'Extend these displays' in Windows Screen Resolution and 'Extend' in the Nvidia Control Panel is selected. And changing which one is primary does not turn on monitor 1. Nor does switching the position of display 1 in either (ex.left/right/top/bottom).GeForce 8400 GS; Dual Monitor Solution 59 pin (DMS-59) to 2 VGA adapter -tried two of these adapter cables.atest Driver: 306.23 - installed a clean reset install of the latest Nvidia driver released last week.Same Resolution: 2 of the 4 monitors I have tried have the exact same 'recommended' resolution (1280X 1024), both 60Hz, and even chose 16 bit color for both instead of 32 to reduce resources.
Linux worked: Dual display worked immediately when I tried it in Ubuntu 10. So, it's not the hardware. It works in Ubuntu 12 too but not properly -it won't transfer windows across displays. My Windows 7 64 is an upgrade from Vista 64. One person in another forum with the same problem resolved theirs by reinstalling Windows 7. But another got the same problem only after a fresh clean install of Windows 7 64 with the same GeForce 8400 GS and DMS-59 when it had previously worked in Vista.
