View 2 RepliesI have an HP Pavilion laptop and when I boot it up once it gets past the windows logo the screen turns black and only the cursor is visible. I think it was caused by a faulty USB port because I plugged my printer in, got the blue screen, and it hasnt worked properly since. I tried doing startup repair, and tried everything on this page[url]...

Today I have been experiencing some problems with my computer with trying to turn it on and I am noticing 3 things that are unusual
First of all, I am noticing that when it turns on, there is no where for me to log-in. The blue background shows up like normal and I have a cursor to move around so it is not frozen-just no user image and nowhere to put in my password. Also, I am noticing that the size of everything on my screen (what actually shows up), is larger than usual, including the cursor which is much larger than normal. The last thing that I am noticing when turning on my computer is that if I leave my blank screen sit for a minute or two, it will automatically start to restore the system, so I don't know why it would be doing this if i never made a command for it.
well my screen keeps going black, i restarted, then it stopped bt wanted to make sure the monitor is working fine, well, i installed skimcleaner, a few days ago or maybe earlier, computer hasn't speed up.

Ok last night i was bored so decided to re-paste my G7 so i opened her up and cleaned the Cpu and Gpu nicely. Did my thing re-pasted her up and put everything back in order.I downloaded some benchmark tools such as Hwinfo, Amd gpu clock tools, cpu-z, gpu-z and aida64.I also have ccleaner installed so far that is all i have as of now besides the bench mark and anti virus tools.
I was running hwinfo and checking my temp's earlier today everything seemed normal as i was curing my tim and making sure the temp's where ok.While i was checking the temps on my g7 i went ahead and downloaded some files on my other pc transferring it to my usb so i could plug my usb and download the files from there. All of a sudden my monitor goes blank and everything seem to be fine all the light's where on except the monitor. So i went ahead and dissembled the g7 to make sure that i wasn't pinching any wires that run to my monitor nothing was wrong there i double checked took a look at all my wires and they where fine.I restarted the pc up 3 times before the picture came back so i decided to run a chkdsk scan and this is what i pulled up.

I know there are battery issues, but when the screen started being blank, I doubted it.Should I just open it and replace the motherboard or check the wires being connected to the screen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having some serious troubles with my main PC, my gaming PC, and it's really messing things up for me. I was just parusing around like usual on my computer, it runs Windows 7, and I allowed it to download the usual updates and restart itself. When it shut down and began restarting, I notice that it loads up the logo, briefly flashes what I think is called a Bios Post page, and then goes to a page that is nothing but a blinking "__" sign. It does nothing here, won't continue, and I can't enter or do anything. It just endlessly blinks, before disappearing and the computer screen shows nothing but black.

View 14 Replies View RelatedHave an MSI laptop that runs Windows 7 32 bit version. Recently it has a tendency to reboot when I come back to use it after the screen has switched off. When I get back, there is the blue screen and then it asks whether I want to reboot as normal. Upon restart it says that Windows closed down unexpectadly etc.I have tried to look at the crash dump files, but I must admit I am not that much closer to understand what the problem is. It happens a few times a day. Could it be related to the HDMI cable that I have recently purchased and occasionally plug in/out during the day in order to watch movies over the TV? However, it crashes also when the cable is not in.

my computer start giving me blue screen error. It's a recurrent problem, but it happens only when I'm playing games, altough it seens to happen with all games, it happens more often when I'm playing World of Warcraft and Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, since they're the ones I play most. When the system crashes, the blue screen shows no file names but the log when the PC resets shows that BCCode: 7f / BCP1: 0000000D, don't know what it means. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. I ran out of ideas for solutions, tried an OS reset (I was on XP and formated it to install 7), reinstalled all my drivers and tried all kinds of forums, looking for a solution, but nothing happened.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI turn on my computer and it will take me to the log in screen but the mouse is stuck in the middle of the screen and my keypad wont work. So I can't log in and get to my desktop. I've turned my computer off and retried several times. It was doing this yesterday too. I've tried restarting it in all the different types of safe modes, and still nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt boots fine but when it gets to the windows 7 splash screen the log in box takes up to 20 mins to display. When it does display I can log in and the computer runs fine.I have tried:
- virus scan which is clean
- malwarebytes comes up with nothing
- restoring to before the problem started
But, the problems remains - up to 20 mins for the log in to appear. It is almost as if it forgets to put it up.
Turns out all my problems were an aged battery, according to the tech shop who reinstalled windows after some deeprooted viruses. But now my laptop won't shut down all the way, but the screen turns off. The keyboard's LEDs stay on, and the fan keeps blowing. It stayed that way for at least five minutes, between me getting a snack and coming back. I don't know if they reinstalled from the disc that shipped with the laptop or gave me a knew windows 7, but this particular issue only started when they reinstalled the OS.
View 9 Replies View RelatedComputer threw out a bunch of weird language and then said crash and shut down. Now it doesn't really boot or reboot. I have to pull the battery to get it to restart and I get the HP logo when I put the battery back in and it takes me to a Windows Errory Recovery screen with two options: Launch Repair or Launch normally. Neither one of them does anything. I just get the blue screen.
I've tried the f8 key and the f10 key and can't seem to get to any other screen. I put the restore disk into the CD rom drive and I don't think it's accessing it at all.
It is an HP Pavilion dv7-4087cl with an Intel Core i5-430M processor and its running Windows 7 Home Premium OA 64 bit.
I have been having a problem with my laptop. It will run fine, but then will freeze and the entire screen will be filled with some colored pattern. I have included the two most recent dump files.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIm having a really strange issue on my computer, im running windows 7 x64
basically what happens is im using my computer and suddenly it freezes. At first I thought the whole computer freezes but I soon realized this is not the case. My mouse pointer remains free and i can move it while everything else freezes. The strange part is that the actual computer doesnt freeze, I know this because of some things I observed in this "frozen" state:
- if i have itunes running before it freezes , I can still hit the pause/play buttons and switch songs after it freezes by clicking on them in the itunes interface. The selected song plays, and hitting the pause/play buttons do what they should, but nothing changes on the screen, it remains "frozen"
- if i double click a program from a desktop icon I get the loading mouse pointer as if the program is loading but the screen remains frozen so i dont actually see the program pop up.
so basically what I thought was my computer freezing is really just my screen freezing, the computer is running fine in the "background" as I can still do certain tasks, but the screen doesnt update to reflect these tasks.
What could be the problem? I had this same exact issue like half a year back and it one day just went away so I never bothered with it but here it is, its back and its really annoying because i have to hard restart my computer every time it happens.
Sometimes it happens out of nowhere, but I noticed it happens most of the time when my computer "shakes". Like when i get up and bang my knee on the desk, it freezes. or when i walk like an elephant in my room, it freezes.. etc. But sometimes it happens when im sitting perfectly still also so I dont even know if the shaking is really what causes it
I just got a new computer, custom built nothing on either hard drives, i have a 1tb hard drive and a 64 gb SSD drive. I have a brand new windows 7 oem version, I start my computer up and it gets stuck on a screen.

I have carried out a clean install of Win 7 Home Rremium (retail full version) on a new hard drive. The problem that I have noticed is that when you are in Computer Management, you can view everything OK apart from Disk Management when you view this it works OK but when you then try to view any other menu (Event Viewer, Device Manager etc.),
the text on the screen flashes like it was refreshing, however it continues to do so until you exit. If you then go back in again and select anything other than Disk Management it works OK until you select Disk Management (which works OK), but on selecting another menu, the screen starts flashing again.
This only happens when you go from Disk Management to something else.
I have reinstalled my old Vista hard drive and everything works OK, so I dont think that it is a hardware issue, but something with Windows 7.
is it possible to increase your resolution to a custom level because my friend has a similar laptop with same size screen but his task bar is A LOT smaller and icons are smaller and you can fit more on screen.

When I try to start up, the computer starts, then turns off for about 2 seconds, then starts up again, and stays on until i turn it off. Theres only 1 short beep when I start it up. I am using a HDMI cable from my monitor to my graphics card, and it just says " no signal "
