View 11 Replies View Relatedone day it suddenly crashed while i was watching a movie. it displayed random patterns on screen. kinda like part of the image from the video is on the screen then a black strip and random colors. I restarted the unit to safe mode and left it on and browsed the net and downloaded some big files for how many hours and nothing happened.. there are also times when windows is still loading with the windows logo on screen, it crashes. there are also times when the login screen is displayed and it crashes. it just crashes randomly! so i tried to reformat it. i deleted the partitions and created a new one, formatted it then fresh installed windows 7 ( my previous OS is windows 7 by the way) and started installing the basic drivers and after a few hours, it crashed again...thinking that the driver installed might not be compatible, i tried another fresh install of windows (same execution, delete partition, create, install OS) and this time, without installing the drivers, it crashed again after a few hours... sometimes it crashes immediately after turning it on from cold start!

View 4 Replies View Relatedi believe updates were installed on friday night. yesterday, i went to go to system restore, and pick the may 19th backup to restore to, but it froze before i could pick it -_- and i just gave up and waited until today. but as i went to go restore a while ago, the back ups that were shown yesterday no longer appear. the hard drive failed and was replaced about a month and a half ago (SMART error i believe) and it has been working fine until saturday. the freezing has only gotten worse today, currently i am trying to watch a film for history class and my laptop freezes every 10 or 15 minutes, requiring me to restart the computer manually.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently received a laptop which has Windows 7 preloaded. About a week after starting to use it, I started experiencing random crashes while CPU intensive operations are occurring. I don't even get a BSOD, the screen just goes black for about .5 of a second and then the entire computer just shuts off. Furthermore, I've scanned for any malicious software, bad packets, etc etc. and those scans returned nothing.

I just today managed to get a program to read .dmp files, and have my two most recent .dmp files for you to view. I had a blue screen from avast's self-protection driver so I removed avast and put on a different antivirus(I used avast's official uninstaller). I still am getting blue screens, but now they are staying the same (IRQL ones).
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis is the 3rd time that Windows 7 crashes in such a way that recovering/repairing is impossible. A fresh installation I put on a second partition finally seem to work smoothly and without errors when it crashes after a few days. The current installation is still working, but lags and gives errors (both came from the same source DVD) from the beginning. We're talking each time about the same machine, of course, a Acer Travelmate 5520 (dualCore 1,9 Turion with Radeon Xpress 1250). First I thought it was due to an incompatible update or some kind, but I have performed all upgrades on this copy of Windows and it is still running...
So, can I acces the log files from my other (newer) installation ?
i m on a amd dual core 5200, abit k9n with latest bios, ati 4830, 2gb ram 800mhz (2x1)
i have downloaded from my university Windows 7 x64 version (the free copy for students build 7600) but i have also tryed 2 other versions (rc i think, both 64 and 32) with no success.
first of all, the starting installation page is very slow, after 4-5 minuts on "setup is starting" (advance mode, not upgrade), and at the second step (expanding windows files 0%)
installation crashes with blue screen:
first time i get: bad pool header error
second time i m on another blue screen: "a device driver attemptingto corrupt the system has been caught. the faulty driver currently on the kernel stack must be replaced.."
now i will try the 3rd time to install in "safe mode" and i post new info here.
if u need something more to know for helping me ill provide them as fast as possible.
Running a Dell Inspiron Zino HD. Constantly crashes, get either a blue screen, black screen or stripes. Usually says something about a crash dump but goes blank before I can read.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit on my HP Pavilion dv6233se notebook pc as a response to frequent system crashing and being unable to restart. I've updated all the drivers as far as I can determine, but I still get occasional BSOD. The blue screen is too blurry for me to read so I have no information to go on as far as codes or causes.
The most recent BSOD occurred while running IOLO System Mechanics, when I started the defrag tool, but I have since run the tool without incident.

When starting up get blue screen and says it is trying to repair problems. Was working fine when turned off a few days ago.
View 3 Replies View Relatedrecently I found that my computer running Windows 7 Home Premium is becoming slower. And the annoying thing is that, when my computer plays music or video, the audio occasionally becomes the BUZZ sound, with the discrete "jumping" of mouse cursor if it's moving.Once when the issue was bad, a Bluescreen occured with an infinitely repeating noise (buzzing again and again), and the screenshot of the Bluescreen is uploaded.
Some specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium on Laptop Dell V130
2G RAM, (usually 85% is used);
CPU: i3 @ 1.30GHz
Processes: 81 (as currently - too many?)
Services started: ~80
My laptop keeps going to a blue screen and then will go quickly to the black screen in which I can start windows in safe mode or start normally. It does this several times a day. Then when windows starts again it get a window stating that windows experienced a unexpected shutdown.

Some more information: I run AVG bought and paid for as my Anti Virus system and have preformed numerous full scans with no problems at all. I also have AVG PC Tune up which i check often and scan for to optimize my Laptops performance once again besides the usual defrag nothing serious has ever been captured. I Have the free version of Malware Bytes, didn't start the trial so its always on my computer. Again Scans come up impeccably clean. I downloaded and used Memtest86+ ran 10 passes completely clean nothing was reported in need of fixing.
Sfc /scannow came back as no integrity errors. An Extended Version of Windows Memory Diagnostics with 5 passes came back clean also. There is no overheating of any sort. I do However use an external Hard drive to Store most of my video games in (WoW, LoL, SWtoR, Diablo 3, Warcraft 3). And after multiple crashes the Software needed to access my Hard Drive "Stops Working" and ill need to uninstall and re install it. Its a WD Smartware product. I feel like I'm flipping a coin when I turn on my laptop because it will crash numerous times and then finally that one time my laptop runs smooth w/o a problem.
My laptop is crashing quite frequently and has been happening several times a day for a few months now. After doing a virus check and removing programs and updating drivers, it did not solve the problem, so I decided to back up all my files and reinstall windows hoping that it would resolve the problem, but it hasn't.

I have the HP DV 2610US and recently upgraded to Windows 7. I have noticed that if i leave my computer with my lid closed for like 30-40 minutes it would shut down & restart and show an error message with Blue Screen as the error. It has also happened with the lid open while the computer wasn't being used.
