After Bios screen windows7 dose not show it's Original Booting screen("starting windows" ) . It bacome a black screen & then show it's logOn screen.There are no problem in Desktop.So i Format & reinstall windows but after 1 day this problem returned!

Windows 7 is installed, however, I woke up this morning, turned on the laptop to find nothing but a black screen. No F keys will work nor escape key. Computer does not recognize a bootable disk. Can any one tell me what the problem is and how it can be resolved? I don't know if it is the hard drive or the motherboard. I don't know where to start looking since I have never encountered this problem.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust since yesterday my laptop was attacked by some kind of malware that tries to scare me into buying their products and hiding all my files. I managed to unhide all my files but somehow the virus still remains. I tried every solution on the web to get rid of this virus but to no avail **** does not work at all.And to top it all this particular virus shuts down all my usb ports and disabling me to connect to another computer to share files even. So I decided to reformat my laptop. But the thing is when after I clicked system restore, the thing shut down. Ok fine everything was normal and it started up as usual, but the next thing that happened was that it was stuck on a black screen. I thought the program was processing but I was wrong ( I've never reformatted a computer so please bare with my sillyness ) I've tried many many times by shutting down and trying to click on system restore but still same result, stuck on a black screen. And pressing F11 doesn't really help either, it will still result in a black screen. I've tried to use the system recovery disc but it didn't work at all.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is a Acer aspire 5738z running windows 7 home premium 64 bit and my problem is my laptop will not start. When I turn my laptop on it starts to run like normal: GPU fan starts, Disk drive kicks in, and the LED for the on button is working but nothing on the screen. I've tried too do alt + f10 for a restore, nothing happened. I've also tried to plug it into a monitor and my tv. Before this occurred it had been turned off during boot (don't ask why, I cannot answer that) and I preceded to take it apart(to fix the overheating issue due to acer not putting fan holes on the bottom of the laptop and I didn't realise something was wrong with it until I reassembled it and tried to turn it on. So I'm not sure whether is corrupt BIOS, a hardware problem, or corrupt MBR (my own personal diagnosis, don't know whether it's right or not). Also I have tried turning the laptop off taking the battery out letting the motherboard discharge then pressing the power button for a minute, leaving it for a minute, putting the charger in then turning it on.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm loading a new system and encountering a problem I haven't seen before. I have a Gigabyte Z77MXD3H motherboard with an Intel i5 3570 proc. When I boot to the Windows 7 install disk I get the BIOS splash screen, then the monitor goes so dim I can't read any text during the boot process but I can tell there is text on the screen. The monitor's menu also appears so dark its unusable. After some time the text mode finishes and the Windows install menu pops up and everything returns to normal. I can find loads of posts about black screens after windows boots, but not before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavilion G6-1d40ca. It crashed the other day while I was using it, and when I restarted it, it went to BIOS update. It froze while updating, and died in itself (I think the battery died, it wasn't plugged in. I never knew about BIOS update, so I wasn't expecting for the battery to die during the update, so I didn't plug it in.) Second time, booted it up (it was plugged in this time), and went into BIOS update once again. All's good, was able to use the laptop for about five minutes, then it crashed once again. Now, when I boot it up, nothing comes up on the screen. No nothing. The power button is on, the wi-fi is on, the LED light is blinking non-stop, more than 6 times than what is referred to the HP website.
I tried doing the remove battery and adapter, press power button for 30 seconds, plug it in without the battery, but to no avail. I also did the whole win+B, but doesn't work either. I tried pressing f11, but nothing comes up on the screen. I don't remember where I put the recovery discs that came with the laptop. I thought I put it on the box together with recovery discs for our other computers at home, but I guess I didn't. The thing is, I don't know where to begin, since I don't have anything on the screen itself. Not even a start-up logo or something.
I had updated my bios and I had a hard time waiting until it stops responding. When I try to restart it nothing is possible so I removed the battery and put it again then try to start it and nothing happens.

I have had issues with system crashes (lockups, no blue screen, and no alt-tabbing out of them) almost from the beginning. Since I am impressed with some of the technical responses I have seen on threads in this forum, thought I'd reach out for help before I pull what hair I have left out.....
I tried literally every different bios update available, every single driver release Nvidia has released, too many clean windows installs to count, MSI Afterburner/EVGA Precision (video voltage increases, clock decreases (removing EVGA superclocking), replaced the SLI bridge, different ram, different powersupply cables, different fan speeds, and so many other things over the past 1.5 years it's rediculous.
In preparation for trashing the cards, I pulled them out and put my old cards back in. These are also EVGA brand, 8800's, also can run them in SLI with the same bridge, and not a single problem. This is while running the same driver release (clean install though) as the 580's.
So I put one 580 back in, both slots 1 & 3, and to my surprise it worked just fine in either PCI slot. Tried the other 580, also works fine when alone. Put them both in, put the bridge on, and it crashes right after Bios loads, before it even makes it to the windows logo/login screen.
Seems to have gotten worse over time (was just during intense gaming, next it's when in windows but not gaiming, sometimes at the Windows loading Logo, and sometimes even at bios load.)
Overheating? Temps are fine..even when stress testing with Kombuster/Furmark/Prime95/MEMTest/etc. temps get warm, up to 85 on CPU cores, and 75 on video card, but all tests are fine.
Okay so lately I've noticed that my PC isn't displaying the BIOS splash screen anymore and skips straight to the Windows login screen.It didn't really bother me until today when I wanted to boot into Ubuntu and I couldn't select which OS I wanted to use.I'm pretty sure the problem isn't the BIOS itself since I unplugged all the peripherals except the speakers, removed all the RAM and the BIOS did beep repeatedly. And given enough time, I can boot into windows (and only windows ).Apparently people have had this problem before and all the solutions I've read such as "Press 'del' to go into your BIOS!" really doesn't help since I can't see anything in my BIOS menu.The only solution that made sense to me was that my CMOS battery could be dying. I haven't changed my rig since I built it in 2009. The only significant event that happened recently might be that Windows updated itself.

My wife did something on her PC (she doesn't know exactly for sure what & can't explain it completely me), and now she can't boot up her PC. She says it had something to do with changing the security settings for a program she uses a lot so it wouldn't keep asking her if she wanted to launch it, and that's when it told her to restart the PC, then it wouldn't boot up anymore.When you reboot, the screen eventually goes to a black screen saying "Windows failed to start. A software or hardware error may be the cause" or something to that effect. It offers me the option to "Launch Startup Repair" or "Start Windows Normally".If I Launch Startup Repair, nothing much happens --- it says it's adding files, then it looks like Windows is about to boot up, then it goes to a black screen for a long time & nothing happens.
If I choose Start Windows Normally, it simply reboots & eventually brings me back to the same screen again.I've tried using rebooting and selecting ESC to get to the boot menu, then installing the Win 7 installation disc & selecting the DVD drive, then I select thelanguage, then I click Repair, but it sits there forever with nothing happening.I also tried an outside boot disc I found on the web & it doesn't launch.
i have a Dell Vostro 1520 and im running Windows 7 with a 32bit. It is only 2 years only. It started about a month ago. I was on my laptop viewing and deleting some unwanted photos i had. A few minutes later i realized that i deleted a photo that i wanted. So i went to the recycling bin and restored that photo. When i went back to my photos and went into the album, it said something like i do no have permission to access this folder. Please press continue to get full permission. I clicked continue and i got the access i should have. Now i tried many more random folders and the same thing happened. Also when i came out of the folders, the folders had a big pad lock sign on the front of it. After that i shut down the laptop and went to turn it back on. The laptop will power on like normal. I can press f12 for the boot options. which i have already tried many times. I also tried it in safe mode and what-not, but still nothing. I can hear the fan and stuff spinning up like normal. I have also put and CD into the CD ROM and that spins up fine. So after the Dell logo on the screen, it goes black and stays that way with the cursor. You can move the cursor around no problem. I should also add that the battery light is and has been flashing for a good wile. Its flashing orange and blue. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the battery. Because my laptop will not charge with the AC adapter in it for many months now. It will only stay powered on with the AC adapter plugged in. One more thing. The LED lights over the buttons. None of the are flashing, besides one, on the far left. And i cant find out anywhere what this LED light stands for.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy son has a Toshiba Satelite P205 that he just upgraded from Windows XP Home Premium to Windows 7 32-bit. After the upgrade completed the computer booted fine. The within 20 minutes he got the BSOD and the system rebooted. Now he can't get Windows to fully start. We've tried all of the options from F8 with no success. We have the Toshiba System Recovery Disk but it won't launch. (The Boot sequence has been changed to boot from CD/DVD and then the Hard Drive.)The Memory Diagnostic from the Windows 7 disk ran fine with no errors. I'm thinking I might need to re-format/wipe the drive to start fresh but don't know where to obtain a boot CD(no floppy drive on this laptop). Does anyone recommend a software that I can purchase to clear everything without destroying the CD/DVD accessibility so I can then use the System Recovery Disk to put it back to the original factory Settings?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer has a problem with crashing while playing a video in full screen. When it crashes the screen turns black while the speakers give out a buzzing noise. Everything is unresposive the only solution is to turn it off with the power button. It happens in any full screen video online or offline and even visualizations from windows media player and iTunes, but only in full screen. I don't think it's overheating either because sometimes it takes 30 mins to crash and other times it will crash immediately when put in full screen. *I've tried setting it back to factory settings thus reinstalling windows. *All the directx features are working with no reported problem there.* I don't think it's a memory issue in the computer, as my specs are:

I have an Acer aspire 5732Z. I turn my laptop on and it shows the starting windows screen then just goes to a black screen with a cursor. I tried to do systems restore but it said that I did not have a system restore point. I cannot start in any safe mode. I have all my pictures, uni work etc., and I am terrified I've lost it all. I've only had the laptop a year.

I've tried restarting the computer, unplugging everything and restarting it. Nothing is working. When it first starts a pop up shows and says "This Application has failed to start because SAMLIB.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem."I'm not sure what it's talking about and what to re install and I can't reinstall whatever it is because I can't get to the start menu.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Windows 7 on my Toshiba Satellite Special Edition laptop that came with Vista 64bit and the other night i downloaded iTunes 10 and told me to restart my machine so I clicked ok and then my laptop shut off and when it came back on the Toshiba screen came up as usual but seemed to stay on longer than normal then it goes to a black screen with a underscore that blinks for a few moments then becomes solid. Ive tried to use the "F" keys to get different boot options because i have the windows 7 ISO disc and a ubuntu disc that I could use but whatever i try my laptop wont process it just does the same thing over and over again and bever proceeds to the actually boot up windows.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhile attempting to restore a previous backup of my system (with Norton Ghost 15), I got an error, and the system rebooted. Upon reboot, I get the black screen of death with just the cursor instead of the usual login screen. I have tried the following thus far: These all give me the black screen of death with movable cursor:boot in safe mode boot in safe mode with networking boot in safe mode with command prompt last known good configuration I did an initial system startup repair which went through and said it repaired it, rebooted, but no change. I did a pre-boot diagnostic test - nothing memory test - nothing tried restoring from restore point, but it says I don't have any (LIES! BLASPHEMY!) tried restoring from restore point on external disk - seemed okay, then failed. chkdsk - found some stuff, fixed it, no change. tried ctrl+alt+del on black screen of death - nothing
Now, I know that the hard drive itself is alright, that is, the information is still all there still. While I can't give you exact specs, I can tell you that I am on a Dell Studio XPS running Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I'm at a loss as to what else to do. Despite being a black screen, with just a movable cursor, the system still appears to be running, as every few minutes, it will show the "thinking" cursor, where it shows the little circle next to the arrow.
Recently, my computer starts up windows and after the loading screen it just sits at a black screen forever with a cursor and it doesn't even make it to the log in screen. I have tried safe mode with the same results. What I've Done So FarTried to Repair Startup with Windows DVD Tried to use sfc /scannow at boot (Says pending changes and needs to restart) Tried logging into my Ubuntu partition and virus scanning (None found) Tried copying Reg Files from Regback into config while I was in Linux Tried to Repair Install (But I can't log into Windows ) Tried to bootrec /fixmbr /fixbot /RebuildBcd (Which destroyed my dual boot linux grub, but I was desperate. And still nothing) Interestingly though, after I do /RebuildBcd command it says something like "Found Windows Installations: 0" Tried to System Restore (Gave me an Error, wouldn't you know) At this point I'm not to confident that this can be fixed. If anyone has any ideas I'm willing to try. Or if you have any snazzy suggestions on how I could fix it using another computer, I have a different Windows Pro x64 computer that I can put the HD in if there's someway I can save my data/fix it/repair install from there. I just don't know how.
Edit: I finished the chkdsk and there were no bad sectors, though it did give me a message "Failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 50."I did a Windows Defender Offline scan with no viruses and I'm currently scanning with Kaspersky Rescue disk. I don't believe it is a virus, I think it's a corruptregistry at this point. I had just cleaned my registry with CCleaner before the shutdown that led to this >.<
i recently just installed a clean install of windows 7(instead of a upgrade from my vista.i got the free upgrade),now everything works fine expect when after the windows 7 splash occurs there is about a 10 second delay were the screen is just black with a cursor.

Problem- Yesterday the screen went black while i was watching a video, but the sound kept going. so i restarted the computer, and the screen works until you get to the login screen it goes black again. SO i called customer service at hp, and we worked on it for an hour.THe one thing that seems to work is when i go to the device manager, uninstall the display adapters, and restsart in normal mode, then i go and reinstall the ATI device thing in the recovery manager, but everytime after i reinstall the ATI display device thing, it ends up going black a little while later again. lol

I have had this happen before and fixed it with bootrec.exe but I can't seem to get that to work this time. Safe mode has the exact same black screen problem.I have done chkdsk and sfc scannow - Didn't fix it.When I boot into Kaspersky Rescue from a USB drive it mentions that I need to shut down windows properly before continuing. I would like to do this but I can't.I have tried changing the active partition on information in some of these other threads - It didn't seem to work.All disks are healthy according to the DISKPART and Partition Wizard. I have done the HP hardware diagnostic scans and everything comes up fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust purchased 2 new (refurb) PC's for my wife and I. It's all I could find with Windows 7 still available. They are both HP Pavilion p7-1233w 64 bit Desktops running Win 7 Home Premium SP1.During Windows setup of PC #1, it asked for a restart. When the PC powered back up, it had a black screen from the start (before the Post screen). I power cycled it several times with no luck. Even switched monitors and video cables. The next morning it started normally with perfect video.I assumed the Refurb PC had a problem and set it aside for return.Been setting up PC #2 for a few days now with lots of restarts. All was well, until I did a restart just now. There was the identical problem. Power cycled the unit twice, and still had the black screen.Then I unplugged the PC, and pressed the power button to discharge the capacitors (fans ran for a few seconds). When I returned power and started the PC again, it functioned normally. I've done 10 quick restarts since to try and replicate the problem, but it only happened that once.
I love these PC's, and I love Win 7, so I hate to give them up. But I don't want the video freezing up on me every time I do a restart. I assume now, that PC #1 is not necessarily defective.Since this is occurring before the post screen, I wasn't sure if it could be windows related.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a bad virus on my computer about a week ago. I decided to use my windows 7 installation disc to reformat my disk drives and reinstall windows 7. The installation goes smoothly and I am able to login to windows. But after I install drivers and updates, then restart the computer, I get the "starting windows" screen with the swirling logo. I can hear the chimes that sound when I get to the login screen, but the screen is black. I can make the cursor appear by moving the mouse, but I cant do anything else. I never created a system restore disc, so I dont have that to help me.I have done some tinkering and will tell you what did not work so far.First, like I said, I used the windows 7 install disc to reformat my disk drives. Then, I reinstalled windows. I installed the updates for my graphics card and motherboard. When I restarted, I got the black screen. I restarted the computer and used F8 to do a system repair. This detects no problems. I tried to use the "startup repair" on the windows installation disc. This does not recognize a problem. I have tried it several times. Same result. Next, I tried to use the repair options on the windows install disc. I went to command prompt and typed in: bootrec.exe /fixmbr, bootrec.exe /fixboot, and bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd. (An interesing note: When I used the RebuildBcd command, it said that it detected 0 windows installations.) After the first time I did that, I tried the startup repair and got my first and only error message: "Startup repair cannot repair this computer automaticaly". I checked the details and it said "Problem event name: StartupRepairOffline". If you need the rest of the details, I can provide them. But I tried the repair again, and there was apparently no problem. Yet, still got the black screen.I then reformatted again, deleted both drives, and made new ones. I tried to install windows again, and I can get to my desktop.(One thing I noticed is that before I install updates, the computer is saying that my monitor is a "Generic PnP monitor on standard VGA graphics adapter". I dont know much about computers so this may be normal before installing the graphics card updates.)This time, I was connected to the internet and tried to install the system updates first. After all 120+ updates installed, I restarted and got the black screen again.I decided to use the install disc again to reformat, delete, and recreate the hard drives. This time I tried to install windows on the second hard drive (Disk 1) Again, the install went smoothly. I started installing the graphics card and motherboard drivers, but this time it told me that my disk drive D needed to be formatted before use. I reformatted it (this took MUCH longer than the format option on the install disc), installed the drivers, and restarted. I still cant get into the login screen. Finally, I used the install disc to reformat, delete, and recreate the disk drives. This time I installed windows on the first hard drive (drive 0) again and got to the desktop. Now I tried to install the motherboard drivers first, then restart. I did this and was able to restart and get back to the desktop. Next, I installed the graphics card dirvers, and then restarted. Black screen again.

his problem started with XP and I decided to upgrade to win 7 pro.
My PC has a black screen on wake up more times than not. Wake up is set for a login screen normally. My settings are screen saver after 10 mins then send screen to sleep in 20 mins, no hibernation mode, rest machine remains alive, runs 24/7 normally.
I have swapped the power supply and graphics card with ones that work in the same model PC and no joy.
So, I am now successfully dual booting vista and windows 7. No problems whatsoever with the installs or dual boot process.
However, randomly one day after just shutting my computer down and starting it back up again everything about the bios and subsequent loading of the bios and the windows loader screen (where you choose your OS to boot) is PAINFULLY chuggy and slow in response. I have never seen anything like it in all my years of computer experience.
The weird thing is, once it boots into an OS, be it vista or windows 7...I notice absolutely zero slowdown or chuggy issues within the OS. I have ran benchmarks and they are all equal to any other time I've ran them. Indicating that whatever this issue is, it's not affecting the OS itself.
I have hard reset the cmos and completely wiped the bios settings and this chuggy and slow issue still plagues me. I went in and was resetting all my bios settings and every single keytroke took 2 seconds + to activate anything.
Any idea as to what is causing this? Or has anyone even HEARD of this kind of thing happening before? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I was working in Outlook 2010 this morning.I clicked on an e-mail and the mouse was disabled.I was unable to do anything and then the BIOS setup screen came up.I escaped and did a normal startup from the Windows screen that came up and was able to work normally and shut down normally. How should I diagnose and address the problem? I was using a Pentium 5 Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 Home Professional.
