BSOD While Using A Firewire Audio Interface?

Sep 15, 2011

Few weeks ago I bought an external audio interface Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP. It's a firewire hardware and while using it I ocasionally get BSOD. Tried using it with both enabled and disabled onboard realtek chip but that does not solve the problem. I installed the newest software/drivers provided by Focusrite but the problem still exists.OS: Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU: Phenom II X4 945Motherboard: ASUS M4A89GTD-PRO/USB3 Memory: 2x2GB GoodRAM 1333MHz Graphics: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 560 Ti Sound Card: Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster BX2240 Resolution: 1920x1080Hard Drives: Western Digital:WD3200YSWD20EARSWD6400AACS PSU: Chieftec GPS-650A Case: Fractal Design Define R3 Mouse: Logitech G700

Firewire Audio Changing Sample Rate = BSOD

Jan 17, 2009

Nice to see that it installs pretty good with Vista drivers, however, when changing the audio bit sample buffers

(@ 44.1K) from 256 samples to 300 samples, it caused a BSOD and rebooted the computer.

No Audio Support? Firewire?

Jan 10, 2009

I like the snippet tool, about time, wish there was a key shortcut, similar to OS X -

Anyway, I see in device driver that FIREWIRE sets up fine (TEXAS INSTRUMENTS) on my INTEL motherboard, but the device, high end Mackie firewire device, does not work.

Installed the MACKIE ASIO driver and nothing, not even a POP UP saying NEW DEVICE found.

This is a shame if this turns out to be true as the lack of Vista driver (more than one year after Vista came out), made me go to a Mac for the past year.

Was hoping the vista driver would work, especially since it's a standard ASIO audio driver for Vista.

Does It Need Digital Audio Interface Besides Alesis Mixer

Jul 17, 2012

I have been giving Voiceovers a go and have been told that I need both my Alesis Miser as well as an Digital Audio Interface. My Mixer has a built in preamp and plugs directly into my computer by the use of an USB cord. My Alesis Mixer also has two XLR ports for my Studio Condensor Mic. But I am told the outcome is not as clear as it would be if I now ran out and purchased an Digital Audio Interface and/or a better sound card. The Sound card I am using is merely the ON-BOARD sound card that came with the machine.

Dec 1, 2011

I have just picked up my custom build computer with windows 7 home premium x64. "An Error Occurred While Releasing Interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The System Cannot Find The File Specified"

Sep 15, 2011

So yesterday in the early AM's I was browsing my internet and all the sudden, bam.i lost my internet.No reason at all, it just happened. This is only my computer, everything else works fine (If internet is out, our TV's don't work)When I go to my little internet icon in the taskbar, it says Unidentified Network and I have no internet access what so ever.When I run CMD and use ipconfig /release I get this:"An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The system cannot find the file specified."I also got this error before:"An error occurred while releasing interface Local Area Connection : An address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint." Tech support kept telling me to use ipconfig /flushdns but whenever I entered it into CMD it gave me an error saying something along the lines of "command unrecognized" I cannot give you guys the full text of what CMD says since it's on a different computer.I am using a direct ethernet cord, not wireless.

* ipconfig /release and /renew and /flushdns
* Turn off firewall
* Update and Reinstall Driver
* Restarting my modem/router
* Restarting my computer
* Unplugging my ethernet cord and replugging it (also leaving it unplugged over-night)
* Manually assigning the 12 code I'm assuming IP

Firewire 800 Backups

Nov 5, 2009

I have a LaCie 2TB external drive that I use to backup my internal drives using Acronis TI. On WinXP I was using Firewire800 and it worked flawlessly. When I switched to Windows 7 the Firewire800 transfer speed dropped dramatically. I've contacted LaCie and they say they can't guarantee Firewire800 with Windows7. I switched back to using USB and it works, but still slow. Would it be worth my while to install and run my TI backups via Firewire in virtual XP mode? Will this in fact work?

ps. does anyone foresee better future support in Windows7 for Firewire800?

Installing Firewire External Sound Card?

Oct 16, 2010

I have a HP built box that I purchased less than a year ago. The hard drive died, along with the motherboard.I purchased a new hard drive and the full version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and had the shop replace the MB, Install the new hard drive and O/S.The motherboard is an ASUS M4A785-M, with an on-board Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (according to Windows Device Manager).I have a couple of additional cards installed, one is an eSata controller for an external hard drive and the other is a SIIG DP FireWire 800 3-Port PCIe card.I initially installed the SIIG because the FireWire chip set is Texas Instruments, because I have a PreSonus Firestudio Mobile (sound card, recording hardware)and it only plays nicely with Texas Instruments. The SIIG card shows up in Device Manager under IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers as "Texas Instruments 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller", which I "assume" is correct?

My problem is the PreSonus hardware refuses show up in Device Manager or initialize (there is an indicator light on the front of the unit that will glow blue when it is connected or flash blue-red when it isn't). PreSonus has a driver set for the Firestudio Mobile, that is called Universal Control.I have attempted to install Universal Control several times, but each attempt has resulted in failure, with the Driver version showing 0.0.0 etc. I realize this is the problem, but I have no idea how to force the issue.If I could get the PreSonus drivers to install, I would be home free (I think).he PreSonus hardware should show up in Device Manager under Sound, video and game controllers, but it doesn't.I have also posted about the issue on the PreSonus forum, but haven't had any solutions posted.This computer and the hardware are what I use to run my Recording Studio and without the Firestudio, I am effectively out of business.I should also note, that I haven't even installed any other software beyond windows 7, other than a couple of utilities. Not even my DAW or the drivers for my peripheral midi devices.

Nov 22, 2011

I have a new computer running Windows 7. It is functioning well, apart from the firewire card not being recognized. Realtek AC'97 Audio BSOD

Jan 18, 2009

So to make this story some what short, I installed Windows 7, it kinda hung on installing the creative sound blaster driver so I assumed it was an audio driver issue from the beginning. After a reboot my sound would always make snap crackle pop / static noises and what not. Totally maddening when you watch tons of stuff online / play games / listen to music.

Strange thing whenever I booted into safemode w/ networking my driver for the sound blaster card would always install first thing no problem. Still, tons of static and the like in the background. The main issue, any reboot would give me a bsod to no end unless I booted in safemode, then there was no issue. Disabled different sound cards until I found out it was the Realtek card. Then I checked out the control panel and there was a driver for realtek, sure enough if I uninstalled and rebooted without going into safemode I NEVER got a bsod. Happy days.

Then I thought I had fixed the static issue but so far I have not. I'm using a creative sound blaster audigy 2 zs card. I've installed the latest beta driver for it(when I thought I had fixed it) to no avail. Sorry it ended up being extremely long :P Sadly, none of this happened in XP, but im blaming it all on the drivers.

Audio Devices Causing BSOD

Feb 20, 2012

Today I noticed all my audio-devices in the audio menu were gone except for my USB Headset, I have my speakers connected with a normal cable and these did not show up. I checked my device manager and indeed it showed yellow exclamation marks on the Realtek high definition audio and AMD HD audio drivers. Strange, so I installed the newest realtek drivers, and at the end of the installation this caused a "ks.sys error" blue screen. Trying to reinstall the drivers in safe mode works fine, but when logging back into windows I get the blue screen. I can use windows just fine with my headset plugged in, but I'd like to be able to use my speakers again.

BSOD Using Komplete Audio 6 Soundcard With USB Hub On Laptop

Jun 25, 2012

I bought a new Dell XPS laptop about 2 months ago (I have filled out the system specs info on my profile here). I bought the laptop predominantly to use for making music, and also bought an external soundcard - Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6, which is a USB 2 device. The laptop has two USB 3 sockets and a USB/SATA socket as well. I had great difficulty getting the Komplete Audio 6 to work with the laptop, as I was unable to load the drivers using the USB 3 sockets (wouldn't recognise USB 2 for some reason). I eventually got it working by using the USB/SATA socket instead, which it is currently plugged into via a USB hub (along with my optical mouse). I was advised by other Komplete Audio 6 users to use a USB hub to avoid damaging the laptop. I also have a Yamaha midi keyboard plugged into one of the USB 2 sockets.

My problem is that I am getting regular Blue Screens, sometimes after a period of inactivity, though I cannot say 100% what triggers them. I am running Microsoft Security Essentials, and Spyware Blaster as antivirus programs. I've read the instructions on submitting BSOD files, and have attached mine here.
