I have a new gaming computer with a high end video card and plenty of RAM and a high speed cable Internet connection. I also have a HDHomeRun TV cable unit which is listed to work with MS Media Center. When I set up my Media Center/TV connection it recognizes my HDHomeRun TV connection and all three TV channels via my MCard I got from Comcast cable. But next to the last dialog window, during setting up my TV connection, I got the following message, "Your computer is not digital cable ready. You will not be able to set it up for use with a cable card."
i just installed PC Lin-Q (USB 2 High Speed Bridge Cable) between tow of my Desktop Computers #1 Windows 7 RC1 and #2 Windows XP Pro SP3, installed to Windows 7 RC1 as Windows XP SP3 compat and it works fine !

All PSU SATA power cables I've seen have only four connectors on each cable. Assuming the rail can handle the load and the wire used is large enough to avoid a voltage drop, is there any reason why there can't be more than four HDDs on a cable?
What I am wanting to do is run an SSD (boot/program) and six data drives (probably 2 TB WD Greens) on a single cable that I can make up (the PSU is a modular Corsair HX750; a bit oversized but that will cut down on heat and, hopefully, increase the life of the PSU) to cut down on cable clutter (the case I want to use is a bit tight; space to put it is a problem so it needs to be small). The original cables are made with 18 AWG wire. By using #14 AWG wire, the calculated voltage drop at the last HDD in the string (the SDD would be first) will actually be less than on the Corsair cable. The computer would read or write to no more than two of the HDDs (and the SDD) at any one time. There will also be two hot swap bays (3.5" and 2.5") in the computer (for making back ups) as well as an optical drive but each one of those three will get their own cable.
I have my usb 2.0 extension cable, and when i insert my usb flash drive or my printer, it don't works. And when i check device manager at computer managment it appears as a unknown device.
I want to setup my IP Camera, and of course I need to do it via ethernet cable. So, when I put the IP address e.g. "192.168.1.102" in a browser (tried with IE9, Chrome and Firefox) , my Laptop doesn't even load or kept loading. This happens when I'm using Win 7 Home Basic, but with a Win XP laptop works great.
Just bought a new Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS graphics card to replace my dying onboard video.I have a Vizio HDMI TV however I am not getting sound through the HDMI cable. Was under the impression HDMI transmitted video as well as sound. Not sure if the problem is with the TV or with the Video Card?
When I was in Lebanon I gave it to a guy at a store who formatted the whole computer and added the software/programs I requested, but there was one thing he didn't do or forgot or something went wrong..I can't connect to the internet through internet cable, which means I don't have the drivers for this thing I guess. For some reason it didn't install on my Packard bell computer. I have had similar problems before with other computers, though the sound was my issue and back then I used to have Everest to discover what was missing. This time I have windows 7 and I doubt the Everest-version I had works and honestly I don't know what to do..I have Wifi internet to use the net, but I want the ability to use the network cable where the internet is 100/100 mb.
New computer - Dell Inspiron 15R laptop. Windows-7 home premium 64-bit. Trying to access internet. 7 gives connection option of Broadband where ISP requires ID and Password. However, my ISP does not require this info to log on....its just "plug-n-play" I have run every test and diagnostic that I can find and the only prob I can find is something to do with the DNS, but have no way to fix the problem. The connection is Cable Modem, via LAN wire. One of the diagnostics recognizes my ISP, but still won't let me connect.
I would like to relocate my computer chassis but the monitor cables have it well tethered. Is it "reasonably possible" to extend those cables without loosing image quality?
I'd like to hook-up my computer to TV. I used an HDMI 30 foot cable from my computer to the TV and it didn't work. Cable is fine. How far can usually go? A$U$ CM#68-70-CA-3AA Desktop PC Intel Core i7 3770(3.40GHz) 16GB DDR3 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce, GT630 2GB, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit.I can only assume that there is not enough power in my GeForce630 to send data through to the TV at 30 feet.
For regular coax cables, like used for TV antenna, there are short cable sections that are thin and flat, to permit the cable to fit under closed windows or doors.I'm wondering if anything like that is available for ethernet cables?
So I bought this kind of HDMI cabel I have a HDMI port on the backside of my case and my motherboard should support it.So one end going into the HDMI port on the case and the other one goes into the TV, but my computer is not recognizing it.I'm trying to dual screen, I have a normal PC monitor which is working fine, however the HDMI for the monitor looks like this and works just fine, what could the error be?
One of my Windows 7 computer has been getting an error for 24 hours that the ethernet cable is not detected and it can not connect to the internet. Other Windows 7 computers on the same router/internet connection work fine.I have already tried the following all of which were not successful.
-Plug in a different cable. -Reboot the computer. -Disable and then re-enable the connection. -Restore to a previous system point. -Inspect the connector for a problem with the pins. -Look at the device manager for problems. -Work through the windows troubleshooter.
The device is described as a Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet, although it does not appear to be a separate card and looks to be built into the motherboard. The Motherboard is Alienware 04VFW2 version A02.
I recently reinstalled windows and on a new hard drive and now it says my ethernet controller needs to be update. Without it i cannot use the internet without connecting to wifi, how do i update it?
i want to connect 2 pc using crossover cableplease give me a guide to how to do thatmy main point is gaming but also sharingi want to know how to connect them to be able to play multiplayer games using lan
I installed Windows 7 (x86) today, but have found some trouble with getting a Internet Connection.
I'm using a dc-202 router. Windows doesn't detect any connections, and when going to network connections it says: Local area connections ; network cable unplugged (tho the cable IS plugged in, and my driver is up to date). My Ethernet card is a VIA Rhine II compatible fast Ethernet adapter.
I already tried to reinstall windows and to skip the router, and just connect directly to the Modem. Even then, I get an error stating: unidentified network. So when i go trough the router, i can't see any connections, when i go directly trough the modem i do get a network, although i cannot connect to the Internet). I can't go on the Internet either way.
I hope this is enough information, otherwise i have some typing to do (cant post on my own computer, or use LAN)
My problem is i cannot connect my laptop using wireless network connection list. but i can if i connect through cable. i had trobleshoot da problem (router & acces point do match to wireless.)
