View 1 Repliesi have Aspire4750g windows7 HB 32bit. after the "Starting Windows" (the one with their logo). It normally displays a BLACK SCREEN but it is just for 1-2 seconds. But in my case, the black screen in my laptop after the "Starting Windows" takes 5-10 seconds!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'am running windows 7 professional. When i boot the PC, i have no trouble up to the point of the windows logo. When this disappears my screen (SyncMaster 913n) keep displaying the text "optimal screen resolution is 1280x1024 60 hertz" and then i dont see anything else than that. Even if i change the screen resolution to 800x600 i get the message. My GFX is 8800 Geforce GT with the drivers 285.62 (64Bit) same issue. Everything was working fine earlier today, then after a reboot i got this issue. The computer is a clean re-install so can their be missing some drivers besides the GT 8800 that can make the problem?
View 4 Replies View Relatedtoday i was working on the PC when the power got down for a second, i started the pc and the power blinked again, so i just waited 30 mins or so and i turned on the pc again, but this time it only got to the color balls that form the windows logo, showed the "please wait" message with a black background to finally led me to a black screen with the windows 7 ultimate logo on the bottom center, a button with some accesibility options to the left and the red button to turn off and reset the machine,i cant do anything more, Ctrl+Alt+Supr doesn't work or the windows key+R. starting in safe mode doesn't change anything neither.
my specs are:
Intel core 2 duo 2.4 ghz
2 gb RAM
250 GB HDD
geForce 9500 gt
PS: i didn't install or configure anything before the second time the power got down, and after the first one the pc started fine.
Basically my laptop was working fine last night. I turn it on this morning and after the windows logo appears the screen goes black. However i can see and move the mouse cursor still.I tried pressing f8 at the beginning of the start up, and tred to repair my problem using the windows 7 repair features, but it didn't work, annoyingly i forgot to set a restore point as well so i can't try that. When i go into safe mode the exact same thing happens, but with the mouse being slightly more pixelated and blocky.I've got a Windows 7 Premium 32 bit disk which i purchased from Windows, but when i load that up it tells me that to install it i need to log into windows, which i obviously can't.I'm using a HP G70-120EM, i've had it for just over 12 months (Annoyingly exactly a week after the warranty is void) and like i mentioned, i've been using Windows 7 premium 32 bit for the past 2 months
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is hp-dv6-3122tx with ATI 5650 and intel hd switchable graphics.Recently my laptop started giving me a black screen after the windows logo. I was having some issues with my GPUs too.Sometimes my ATI card was not coming up in the device manager and i was only using intel HD. i have noticed that when that happens i can't see my laptop charging icon changes to plugged in mode even though i plug in the charger , but the laptop was of course charging perfectly . But recently i found my ATI card back in device manager and it was working pretty well. But after exactly a week I started getting some white lines appearing in the display too. With that knowledge i assumed that the black screen issue is a counter-product of the GPU issue. I used safemode to uninstall all the GPU drivers. Then i can log into windows and work normally and windows detects the GPUs and install the plug and play drivers. After they install it i can restart the pc and work normally. But once a shut this down and later when i try to switch it on i get the black screen issue from ground zero. that makes me believe that this is mere a software issue. But those white lines i mentioned about is due to hardware fault i guess. I don't know what to do right now. I don't want ATI graphics, intel HD is ok. i just want to switch this thing on and do my work coz i can't afford another laptop right now.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo last night I turned off my PC as usual. Rebooted it this morning and every time the Windows 7 Logo disappears, all I see is a black screen, no mouse pointer, cant bring up task manager, the pc seems unresponsive. I am currently running the PC in safe mode.
There are other threads on the forums and on google, I have tried everything so far. As a list for you, this is what I have tried:
Windows Restore
Windows Repair
Reinstalling Windows 7 (will not allow me to do so from safe mode)
Booting Windows in low resolution mode.
Booting windows from the Win 7 CD I made, this causes me to get past the windows logo, then all I see is a mouse pointer and a windows background.
Using winkey + P does nothing.
I have 2 GeForce 9800 GX2s - I use 2 displays normally, occasionally using a third. The machine was running fine last night and no new software has been installed for the past 3 days. I assume the issue is multi-display related, however the pc is totally non responsive after the windows logo which suggests something else =/.
I am totally at a loss and need this PC for my work (I work from home in Austria for several companies in other countries), I have been at this since about 5am and 5 hours later there has been no change.
when i start up my laptop (Windows 7 ultimate) after i see the windows logo the screen goes black for about 20 seconds and i have scanned for everything using malwarebytes, superantispyware , security essentials and also on start up i only have my antivirus running as all else is unticked, any ideas to the problem as i have seen people ask about it also in Yahho answers but nobody has been able to fix.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a new Samsung RC520 laptop. I logged in fine and started to install virus software, applications, windows updates etc. In between all this I had to reboot for the installations to be completed with no problems.
I then installed more window updates (office 2010) followed by a reboot. From this point on wards when I power the laptop on it will get as far as the Windows logo screen and then goes into a black screen. If I leave it for 5 minutes the mouse arrow appears but still black screen.
I tried booting into
Safemode, last know configuration, Enable low-resolution video (640×480)" startup but still get the black screen. Ran the repair from the Windows 7 disc. Can't do a system restore as the laptop is so new it hasn't created one yet, doh! Tried plugging it into an external monitor and still black screen on laptop.
I'm having an issue with one of my windows Vista systems. It's a HP computer (blah, I know)... and is several years old. It's issue of late occurs on start-up. After attempting to "Start windows normally", the system will display the load screen then immediately go to a black screen. It doesn't restart... it just stays black. I've tried to go into Safe Mode as well as do a system restore and go to the last known good config. Nothing works. The problem is there is over 200 gb worth of work, school and personal files on this system I need to export to my external hd. After that I don't care what happens to this freakin computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd hang on the windows 7 logo as it flies up (it freezes on the colored balls) and then it goes to a blue screen, hinting at hardware-related problems. After a restart or two, I am usually able to make it to the desktop like normal. I just took this easy route, assuming that ignoring it would make it go away.Well, this morning, it happened again, but then when it made it passed the windows7 logo, I got to a black screen with just my mouse. This is a common enough problem- plenty of complaints and advice out there. When I try running safe mode, it hangs on AVG-named drivers. So i went and deleted them all through a thumbdrive linux boot (Can't I just reinstall AVG or another program once my comp is working?) but now it hangs on a new driver so I stopped deleting them. CLASSPNP.sys, which is another hugely common problem. Safe mode is out.Put my digital copy of Windows 7 on another thumb drive and booted to that to try and use recovery mode. No recovery images, memory check didn't yell at me, chkdsk seemed to run fine (unless running it in the X or "boot" drive is wrong and I have to figure out how to navigate to the C or D drive in cmd ...but even then, what do I do with the result of chkdsk, especially when it will probably show no problems?) so I THINK recovery tools are out, unless I failed to use them correctly. So now I'm faced with re-installing windows, in which case I have no idea what my activation key is, being that it was a digital copy and I don't have the student access to where I originally downloaded it.
TL;DR:
1) Can I find my win7 activation key with a key-finding/decrypting program while using my linux boot?
2) I've read that my GPU (nvidia 460) or even PSU (Corsair 650) could be to blame- are there ways to troubleshoot/verify that if I don't have other parts to replace them with?
I have xfire 5770 with driver 11.5b hotfix and win7 ultimate. This is fresh built so no hardware fault.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. All of a sudden, it has stopped starting up without me installing anything new.I gets past the bios, shows the Windows logo and then before the login page appears, the screen goes black and only has the mouse pointer (which I can move around curiously!).I have tried doing Startup repair, loading in Safe Mode, loading with lower screen resolution, loading with Last Known Good Configuaration, done a memory scan: they all lead to the same result.I don't think it is an issue with the Hard Drive because I can still hear it spinning, also, I am able to pull files off it when I plug it in to my USB (using an adapter). Also, Windows loads to some point and it would get stuck at the bios if it was.Don't think it is the graphics card or I wouldn't be able to see anything that I see up until that point including the mouse pointer.I have tried using Google but many places have left this unresolved or the problem is not exactly like mine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI need help and suggestions on what to do with this black screen crisis. Mine is a little different that others. so sorry if this is a repeated thread. ive looked everywhere, and no one has the issue when they have dual boot.I have dual boot on my laptop with windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and windows 7 home premium 64 bit. the home premium came pre installed on the laptop and the ultimate version i installed later dual boot (i needed some capabilities that home premium doesn't have).I cannot see anything on my screen after windows logo while booting up my laptop bcz of the black screen after the windows logo. When i boot into WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM. i hear windows logon screen notification noise but see nothing! oddly enough even my built in webcam logs me in with VeriFace software with my face, passwordless! ALSO my laptop boots fine with windows 7 ultimate and i can see everything, and it works great! i need the other version to WORK cause my life is in that other version of windows. i cannot factory restore!!!
What i have tried: the keyboard is also unresponsive, bcz i held down a bunch of keys to see if it makes the beep noise. I closed the laptop lid to see if it goes into hibernation and waited 3 mins to see if it still does, so that when i open it i can see everything (it has worked before). nothing. i rebooted a bunch of times even with a second screen attached, tried to guess switch into projector mode with my function key and switch screen/projector button. i have also done a power cycle. i think the registry is screwed, or maybe the graphics card drivers are ruined. have not done a registry repair through the other windows version (doing that next). i have defragged both partitions for both of the windows 7 versions through the one that works. What may have caused it: the last time i used home premium, i rebooted so that i can use the ultimate version (for the extra capabilities). i was not watching and it booted up in home premium, and the built in cam is so fast that i merely looked at the laptop and it logged me in. i was being unpatient, bcz you have to wait for the lenovo programs to load before you can restart. so i forced shut down (very bad idea) by holding the power button and booted up in ultimate finally while watching.
When I start up my computer, after reaching windows 7 symbol appears and i see the blue screen, it takes over 3 minutes before i see the form to type my password in. The same happens when I let my computer hibernate/sleep and then turn it on again.

Recently i updated my M17x R2 laptop, windows 7, ati 4870x2 graphics, 2 x 320GB hard drives, and all of a sudden little blue screen came up, all i had time to read was something about video drivers update, then computer shut down, now when i start up all i get is black screen, nothing else not even logo screen,i am certain this is not hardware problem as everything has been running perfectly, its something to do with the updates, unfotunately cd/dvd drive is broken so my only option is to do something through USB,only problem with that is i cant get into bios F2 or boot menu F12 to change boot order because screen black,so i need something on USB that will overide the bios/boot,also tried pressing F8 and nothing, but when i do start up everything sounds fine, fans, cpu, its just screen
View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased a system with dual GTX580's about a year and a half ago. I have had issues with system crashes (lockups, no blue screen, and no alt-tabbing out of them) almost from the beginning. Since I am impressed with some of the technical responses I have seen on threads in this forum, thought I'd reach out for help before I pull what hair I have left out.....
I tried literally every different bios update available, every single driver release Nvidia has released, too many clean windows installs to count, MSI Afterburner/EVGA Precision (video voltage increases, clock decreases (removing EVGA superclocking), replaced the SLI bridge, different ram, different powersupply cables, different fan speeds, and so many other things over the past 1.5 years it's rediculous.
In preparation for trashing the cards, I pulled them out and put my old cards back in. These are also EVGA brand, 8800's, also can run them in SLI with the same bridge, and not a single problem. This is while running the same driver release (clean install though) as the 580's.
So I put one 580 back in, both slots 1 & 3, and to my surprise it worked just fine in either PCI slot. Tried the other 580, also works fine when alone. Put them both in, put the bridge on, and it crashes right after Bios loads, before it even makes it to the windows logo/login screen.
Seems to have gotten worse over time (was just during intense gaming, next it's when in windows but not gaiming, sometimes at the Windows loading Logo, and sometimes even at bios load.)
Overheating? Temps are fine..even when stress testing with Kombuster/Furmark/Prime95/MEMTest/etc. temps get warm, up to 85 on CPU cores, and 75 on video card, but all tests are fine.
i installed OS windw 7 and there was only one pertion. after the toshiba logo it brings a black screen, cursor blinking its a toshiba satellite c660
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf the computer is shut down and disconnected from the power supply for about 5 hours or longer I get a bluescreen right after the windows boot screen. Otherwise it starts without problems and works fine. My workaround for the problem after long shut down is to switch on the power supply, then immediately switch it off and then on again. This works always fine!

I already used all of the windows debugging, diagnostic tools and Memtest but without success.
I have windows seven RC1(32 bit) and I get a BSOD when my computer works hard for longer periods of time. I do not have this problem with my vista partition. For example if I do a 30 mins skype call or play a game for 20 mins I get the BSOD. However I can surf the internet and listen to podcast for hours and have no problems.
Heres the error message

I have a HP Pavilion G6 notebook and Windows 7 Ultimate 32. The OS froze today while I was working and the only solution was to shut it down by holding the power button. I restarted it afterwards and after the Windows 7 logo screen my display shuts off (it's not just a blank screen, the monitor is off). I tried using system restore and it gets me as far as the log-in screen and after I enter my password, it gives me another blank screen (this time the monitor is on, but the screen is blank) and ctrl+alt+del does not work, nor does anything else. I am writing from safe mode right now, it seems to work just fine, but a normal start-up gives me a black screen.

The laptop has:

Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Nvidia GeForce GT 540M

The above 3 files exist in the directories asked for so not sure why it can't load them.Although the laptop works fine when it's loaded, the additional time on this blackscreen is just winding me up as it didn't do it before.
I've experienced this problem at least twice. I have left my computer up while I went to work or just left the computer running for a long time unattended and when I tried to use it again I cannot get the screens to come up, they just stay black no matter what I do i.e. move the mouse, hit a key on the kb, and ctl alt del. I am running RC1 64bit (fresh install). Anyone else experiencing this?
