I get the BSOD when upping the activity on the computer, such as trying to download multiple files at once. I thought it was the memory so I RMA'd it and it just got back. So I did an entire rebuild, cleaning and reseating everything. Did another full reformat and installed Windows 7 7100 from a different ISO off my flash drive. Bing! Again, BSOD. Not sure how to proceed. Details to follow...

It's a really fast BSOD, I see nothing but the screen going black with some crazy graphic bs going on for a half second then it restarts.... Nothing but a clean install. I just tried using Driver Sweeper on the ATI files but they kept reappearing even after I uninstalled them. Given that I still ran the ATI driver package then I went into IE to download Firefox and as soon as it started downloading, BSOD again. There is nothing else on the install, I tried using my flash drive and a DVD to install Windows 7 7100 and I still get the same problem. Like I said, memory is brand new, nothing is overclocked...
I have been getting BSOD errors whenever booting into regular mode. Safe mode is fine (I have tweaked the registry so I have sound in safe mode) My system specs are in my profile, but used Winaudit for full specs. The winaudit report in formatted text is too big for an attachment. I have 2 attachments to this post, including zipped up minidumps. Could my registry tweak for sound have something to do with this? Perfmon /report was run, but it says:

View 9 Replies View Relatedi've been getting bsods for the past couple of months. i'm running windows 7 professional x64 on a one-year-old sony vaio vpcs12c7e laptop. it's the original os which came installed on the system, and i've never re-installed it. the bsods all share some basic features:
they're all 0x0000007f unexpected_kernel_mode_trap errors (see attached dump files). they all happen when watching content online (usually adobe flash based, such as Internet) though occasionally offline when using vlc player. they all happen seemingly sporadicly - either thirty seconds or two hours under the above conditions.
the bsods also occur more instantaneously when streaming high-quality videos or multiple files at once. they started happening directly after i inserted an empty usb memory stick from a friend into my laptop. i can't recall the make or model of the usb stick. anyway, here are the dump files.
My computer has been stable for years, however recently I have been getting BSOD when doing any task. Windows will sometimes load to the desktop and I am able to watch video, run windows score, check email, etc before it will BSOD. Other times, it will BSOD before getting to the windows login screen.When I use safe mode, it logs in and stays there - no BSOD.I have tried removing all extra hardware in the machine, however this has had no affect. I cleaned my pc, searched for viruses as much as I could, and I have restored to a different point in time twice. I have tried the windows memory diagnostic twice. No issues. I have tried the files check before start up, no issues were detected.Pfn_list_curruptan attempt was made to write read only memorysomething on the lines of service_system_exeption? Not sure about the last word to be honest I caught it while my computer restarted on its own. Memory_ managment Bad_pool_errorI am not sure what to do I have done all I can by myself. Instead, the screen enter energy saving mode and the system continues to remain active for about 10 minutes before turning off. As long as my system does not enter sleep mode, it works just fine. According to the dump file, the issue is caused by ntoskrnl.exe and an errormessageDRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed on my 320 Gb HDD and everything is running ok. I just bought a WD Caviar Black 1TB SATA III disk and I want to install Windows 7 there, since the disk is faster. Here's what happens. When I connect the disk (it is connected GSATA 3 connectors), the disk will be recognized in bios and in Windows, but wont show under My Computer. I figured it must be some software bug so I formatted the disk in diskpart (clean format) and installed Windows 7 on it. At that time the GSATA 3 interface was set to IDE mode. It ran fine but after installing a big batch of Windows updates, the system hung at windows startup screen. After restoring the system to a previous state (i.e. before the updates), the system booted up normally.
I didn't know what was wrong so I formatted again, and this time I set the GSATA 3 to AHCI mode, since I realized this is a better option. When installing in AHCI mode, the computer expands the windows files but when the system is restarted, I get a BSOD (code Stop 0x000000B4 video driver failed to initialize) at Setup is updating registry settings. I really want to use the AHCI mode, but I cant get the system to work in IDE either so its really a bugger. I have no idea what could be causing this as the system works fine when using the other disk. Can the BSOD be caused by the HDD? Anyway, I really want to start using the disk. I have tried installing Windows 7 from a dvd as well as from a USB key.
I keep getting BSOD when I try to put my 5 year old HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop in sleep mode, by either tapping the power button, or going through the start menu. This started happening a couple days ago, after Windows did an update.
I've done a system file check and it came up clean, and I also updated my video drivers, but to no avail. I don't really know where to go from here.
I can only run Windows 7 Home Premium (different computer than the one I'm posting from) in safe mode. When I try to use the Diagnostic Tool, it says that it is saving the files but then it doesn't finish up with giving me the folder on my desktop. How I can get the files to show so that I can attach them to this thread?

I had a BSOD problem launching Borderlands 2, and some other games too. My Video Card drivers are up to date and i still have BSOD. I got blue screen once more, and my pc restarted. Now I can't even start my windows, I get some black screen before windows 7 logo appears and I can't even start my windows in safe mode nor can I boot from a CD/DVD.

I'm trying to add 3 additional HDs to my system for storage, using RAID 5 configuration. However, when I set the PCH SATA Control Mode option to RAID(XHD) (in order to enable the motherboard RAID controller) in my BIOS, I get BSOD for a milisecond during the windows 7 loading and then the PC is restarted automatically.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt started out of nowhere last week - computer restarted itself twice, then BSOD. When starting Windows normally, it would appear as soon as I logged in. However, computer ran fine in Safe Mode and also ran fine under normal conditions if the internet was unplugged. I eventually diagnosed that the issue was caused by an AVG module when it connected to the internet. So, I uninstalled AVG and verified that the computer ran fine while connected to the internet. I then reinstalled AVG, thinking I had solved the problem.
Now the BSOD appears as soon as I log into Windows (same as last time). Except this time, it appears even though I have again uninstalled AVG and disconnected the computer from the internet. It works fine in Safe Mode.
I have ran the BSOD Dump & System File Collection app with the results attached. I attempted to run PERFMON report but was unsuccessful (Error: cannot find specified path).
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) and this is the original OS that was preinstalled with my laptop (ASUS G60VX). The system is approximately 2.5 years old and I have never re-installed the OS.
I continuously run system mechanic to monitor and clean out the drive and also use Norton 360 to supplement system mechanic. The system was gradually slowing down and occassionally freezing up. I upgraded the CPU with a T9600 chip and the system seemed to run fine but the temps definitely increased (fan constantly running but rpms varying with temps); I use SpeedFan to monitor temps. The lagging once again started so I had a deep scan and repair of the hard drive performed; took all night to run. This was done approximately one week ago. The system afterward now continually shuts down (BSODs) with no rhyme or reason. I do not know if it is hardware (GPU or hard drive) or software. I have re-installed the original CPU to see if this was the problem but the BSODs continue.
I am capable of operating in Windows Safe Mode with Networking.
This started happening last night while i was playing Borderlands 2, it has happened at idle, playing just about any game in my library, during downloads and just browsing the web. I changed all of my accessible drivers, and it continued to happen, so i moved all of my personal files onto my external HDD. I re installed windows on my SSD (did not reformat) and reformatted my HDD. I re installed my drivers, re-enabled SLI and it ran fine for about an hour, just downloading WoW, and then happened again twice.

I am experiencing an application error �General Protection Default in Module WIN87EM.DLL". I researched the problem online and downloaded a file WIN87EM.DLL and added to the software directory. I also performed the compatibility option. The problem continues. My software is a horse handicapping system that processes past performance data files. I am able to start the software with no problem and even model one race file with no problem. Whenever I try to bulk model say 30 race files to build my database is when the error comes up. The software runs great on my old computer with Win XP..
View 3 Replies View RelatedI cannot provide a BSOD error code/info because there was none generated; there was no BSOD. What happened was that I had a few applications open. MSN, Firefox, Opera, and Songbird are what I normally have open, and they never caused a problem before. Then I had Google Chrome open, which I do at times with no side effects, and was playing Angry Birds. The link I used to play is this one: Angry Birds Chrome, then after about an hour playing, the computer suddenly went into sleep mode. It refused to wake up. I had to force reboot it. It was able to load up just fine after that. I looked in the event logs and found nothing to determine the cause of the sudden sleep mode.
The only thing I did different is playing Angry Birds. I don't know if it being in HD had anything to do with it, or if Google Chrome just experienced a glitch that affected the entire system somehow, though I don't know the odds of that. Another thought I had was the problem was due to a storm outside. It was raining and thundering outside. A friend of mine suggested the issue may have been due to a partial power loss that was enough to knock the computer into sleep mode, but not strong enough to cause a full on power outage.
Earlier today I wanted to get into Safe Mode in order to cleanup up leftover files from an uninstall of Catalyst.I have a hard time getting into safe mode via my BIOS so I generally use msconfig. I always set it to run straight into Safe Mode (which is what I did today). When I restarted I got the 01E BSOD. I'm assuming it is another driver or that my system files are corrupted.I checked my hardware and individually ruled that out.Now I am in a situation where I cannot boot into the regular OS to try and figure out what is really going on (gather the dump files etc..). I have been trying to access msconfig via the command line from my DVD but can't figure out how to get the right permissions and actually run it to turn off the safe mode boot option. I use a RAID 0 startup so I have to load the RAID drivers when I pop in the DVD. Then I have to switch drives from the command prompt from "X" to whatever the RAID drive shows up as.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter putting my computer to sleep, upon waking I receive an error code, which should be present in the dump file. I closed the error window before copy pasting it in here. I will update the post with the error information next time it happens. This only happens when putting my computer to sleep. Hibernate and shutdown do not have this problem, and I have not received any BSOD's during use. This has been happening for about 10 days. My memory set up is kind of strange. I have 2x1GB 1.8V ram and 2x2GB 2.1V ram, both DDR2, and both running at 2.0V. I didn't want to overvolt the 1.8V ones too much. The timings are slightly loosened on the 2.1V ram to match those of the 1.8V ram. I have run Memtest86 with no errors. My hard drives have also checked out fine.I have my q6600 overclocked to 3.0GHz, with a voltage increase, CPU-Z is saying it is running at 1.408V. I have run plenty of Prime95 tests. No stability problems, and temperatures are always acceptable. I have had it at this overclock for 7 months, ran at stock the previous 4-5 years. My GTX 460 is overclocked as well, always has been stable as well, with temperatures plenty low enough.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWindows 7, 64 bit. It's the original OS. I'm not sure what the difference between OEM and full retail is but I got this the way it was in the shop. I haven't added anything. The age is roughly a year old and I haven't reinstalled the OS.I got the BSOD twice a month or two apart about 2-3 months ago. However, it happened once yesterday, and twice today. The second time I got the error 0x8000ffff but I was able to do a system restore. I usually keep my laptop on for days... I used to do that with my previous laptop and I never had any problems so I don't know if that's what's causing the BSOD.

I had this machine built just over a year ago, and only had occasional crashes (no particular activities seemed to generate the issue). About 2 months ago the crashes became more persistent, and upon restarting the machine would have trouble loading normal mode. At the screen that reads "welcome" the spinning wheel would simply freeze, and the computer would lock up. As this problem persisted the computer would either automatically reboot itself each time, or crash into a BSOD and run a dump. I can, however, start it in Safe Mode without issue. It had been running the same install of windows 7 ultimate x64 until a couple of weeks ago when I attempted to reinstall. This solved nothing, so I reinstalled again, this time deleting the partitions and formatting the drive. Again, the problems persist. I'm inclined to think they're hardware related at this point, but I'm in no way an expert.

The laptop is 3 years old.
Whenever the system is pout into sleep or hibernation, or when the lid id closed, it does not enter sleep mode, but crashed. On restarting the usual error message ststing that windows did not shut down correctly is displayed.
In the last 2-3 months I've had about 10 of the BSOD. I am trying to debug them, I turned on verifier for non Microsoft drivers and now I have a crash dump. Here is the crashdump, with and without the verifier. I am using Dell XPS laptop, with Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1, 64bits.
