I have a new notebook with Win 7 Ultimate and added the xp mode so I could run my older programs. I am experiencing an application error General Protection Default in Module WIN87EM.DLL". I researched the problem online and downloaded a file WIN87EM.DLL and added to the software directory. I also performed the compatibility option. The problem continues. My software is a horse handicapping system that processes past performance data files. I am able to start the software with no problem and even model one race file with no problem. Whenever I try to bulk model say 30 race files to build my database is when the error comes up. The software runs great on my old computer with Win XP..
none of the programs will open except for internet explorer. All other applications give the sxstrace.exe error and won't open. I advised her to hit F8 and get into safe mode so I could try and help her further. She couldn't get that to work so I had her force safe mode through msconfig. That worked and got her into safe mode and she's still getting the sxs error and can't get anything to work for her. I advised her to go back into mconfig and uncheck the safe mode boot and wait til I come home and fix it. Now the problem is when she tries opening the msconfig, she gets an error on that saying it can't open the application with the error code 0xc000142 Now she's stuck in safe mode with no networking and the computer is basically useless. I need help getting her going if anyone has any suggestions. I'm 800 miles from home and won't be there until thanksgiving and i'm trying to help her over the phone so im kind of limited here. I was trying to get remote assist going for her but she couldn't install that either without the sxstrace.exe error.they're running windows 7, If i remember correctly it's the x64 version.
I tried to replace 3 files in the system 32 folder, and must have made a mistake along the way leaving my laptop inaccessible once logged on. The three files were:
uxtheme.dll themeui.dll themeservice.dll
I received these error messaged when logged on:dwm.exe - Application error the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click ok to close the application.explorer.exe - Application error the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click ok to close the application. Can system restore revert back the files so it was like i never attempted the patch?
Installed Windows 7 Professional, Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode so as to use Canon 20D EOS Viewing Utility in seamless mode on Windows 7 professional. (Basically, I need to view pics right as I take them with my camera and that program does it but is not compatible with Windows 7).
Installs seem to have went fine however when I go to Start- All Programs- Windows Virtual Pc- Windows XP Mode Applications- and then click on the application I need which is EOSViewerUtility1.1, a box opens that says "Windows XP Mode - Windows Virtual PC" and then a green bar running that says below it "starting virtual application". Finally a large blue screen box opens and has at the top the words "Windows XP Mode - Windows Virtual PC" and still says it's "starting virtual application." It never does finally open up the program but just has the green bar running at the top like it wants to open up.It seems to me the blue box is really the Windows XP Mode box as it looks like that. So it appears that the program app is not really opening up in Windows 7 but just the XP Mode box.
I have tried installing & uninstalling xp mode and vm 4 times with new downloads again and again to no avail. i have tried to install xp mode first and get the error 2203...I have installed vm first and then xp mode with the same result. Error 2203 on the web seems to be related to an installer problem yet I have installed many programs with no errors at all.
I recently had a virus-esque program on my computer called win 7 home security 2011. It was a fake anti-virus program that was telling me I had viruses in an attempt to get me to buy their fake product. Anyway, the program is now history but I am encountering more problems that may or may not be a side effect of the virus. When I try to open an application I get an error giving the file location of the application followed by the message "Application not found". I can get around this and open the application by following the file location given by the error message and opening it. It then forces me to choose which program to open it with, in which case I need to tell it to open it with itself...
This is very irritating and in many cases makes opening applications close to impossible. When I'm choosing the program to open it with, it won't allow me to check the box telling it to set the program as the default. Is there any way to solve this issue short of completely re-installing windows 7?
I get this error message in windows 7 and no one seems to know how to correct it. It specifically says it is a Windows application error so I contacted Microsoft and they say it is a software error. RoboForm says no, it is a Windows issue.
Since installing the latest Windows Update (Critical Update) I am unable to re-boot.The computer posts and gets to the windows screen and when about to load up into explorer I get the following error message in a Box. "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the applciation. The actual application is explorer.exe. Application error. If I click on OK the screen goes blank. (Black screen) Hitting CTR ALT Del gives me the options but when hitting on Start Task Manager I receive the same error this time the applciaton being Task Manager with the same error code as above. I am able to start up in Safe Mode and have tried to both use the built in Startup Repair (which is unable to fix the problem) and also have tried to go back to a previous version via System Restore without any luck. The same errors appear each time.
I have a Dell Inspiron 560 and Windows 7; previously I had a Dell 5 years old and Windows XP. I am trying to access a website I have used previously with success but now am receiving error msg: Server Error in '/' Application, Runtime Error. I was able to access this website on my old system.
On windows 7 start up I get an application error: Exception 'EOleStsError' in odule DUMeter.exe at 000A3A1D. Then it says Catastrophic failure, Class1D. Can I resolve this Catastrophic failure!!!

I have been getting BSOD errors whenever booting into regular mode. Safe mode is fine (I have tweaked the registry so I have sound in safe mode) My system specs are in my profile, but used Winaudit for full specs. The winaudit report in formatted text is too big for an attachment. I have 2 attachments to this post, including zipped up minidumps. Could my registry tweak for sound have something to do with this? Perfmon /report was run, but it says:
An error occured while attempting to generate the report. The system cannot find the path specified.
Can someone hit me with a link for manually installing the AHCI driver and switching the OS mode for the storage controller.
If I remember right, this is just putting the driver in /sys/drivers, running a script, and making a registry change. Then you reboot, change the motherboard setting, and then install IMSM after the OS comes back up. I don't remember the script, or if it was just a reg edit, etc.
I've been receiving a runtime error for over a week (see below) in IE8 when atempting to go to a specific webpage. At first glance, it looked like a server issue (mine) or a website "down" problem. After searching the web, I could not find a solution for this specific runtime error. There was a bunch of misinformation posted in other forums! The solution was so simple.... I cleaned out all cookies with CCleaner and the page was available.....This error does not show on a "pop-up" like the Microsoft samples. Thus, Microsoft was no help to me in this instance.
Error: Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
I have been having an issue with Windows 7 and a program called 'Jetcam' These errors appear to occur randomly and can happen 15 to 20 times in one day, others days it's fine.
I recently had a virus (windows 7 antivirus 2012) and I removed it safely. Now I am having problems opening programs on my system all around and I suspect it is a registry problem. I could open the programs via "Run as administrator" but that is a huge hassle (my user account has administrator privileges.) Another thing is when I try to open the program and it has the "select from one of the following to open" window, usually when i select a program to open it with there's a bottom check box for "always use selected..." but that is grayed out... not sure what is happening.I tried to create a new user and that new user can open programs fine.
I just got a brand new Touchsmart 300z running Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. I set up Windows Media Center, and added Mediabrowser for better TV show support.
Mediabrowser sometimes behaves normally, other times it gives me an INVALID APPLICATION unable to launch Mediabrowser error. I usually don't get the error when I first launch Mediabrowser. I usually get it (only sometimes) when entering one of the media collections, trying to play a video (again, only *sometimes*), trying to save settings, etc. The crazy thing is, sometimes it works.
It does seem to consistently give me the error for some video files. For others it might give me the error *sometimes*. Sometimes I can play the file without problem, other times I get the error.
All files play correctly in native Media Center, in the Touchsmart software (which also doesn't support TV series collections very well), and WMP.
Thinking this might be a video-related problem, I also installed Heatwave, GameEx, and mcShoutcast. Heatwave also gives me this error -- SOMETIMES. mcShoutcast and GameEx seem to always give the error. For kicks I also tried TunerFreeMCE - always gives the error.
I have tried various things like manually deleting caches, changing permissions for the ProgramData folder for the plugin to allow everything from the user profile that I log in with to run Media Center... Nothing has worked.
Yet I can use the native Media Center capability for videos, music, Internet TV, etc.
Basically, the upshot is that NO PLUGINS WORK CORRECTLY. I suspect that it is at least partially due to x64, based on the fact that when others have had the same errors that could not be resolved using the normal fixes, they were x64 also. Seems like the 7RC had less trouble from what I have been reading...
I'm very frustrated, and am thinking of returning the s****y Touchsmart and building a Windows 7 32bit or Vista 32-bit box... Maybe using XBMC or something and skipping the tuner all together, though the husband would really like to watch live sports OTA.
Hey everyone, I am having an issue with my computer right now. When I boot it up, I get an error message reading " Applaunch.exe - Application Error" and then under it, it reads: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application. Okay, so I click OK. After I click it, and around 5-30 seconds it pops back up again.
I tried to un-hibernate my laptop this morning (I tend to only hibernate it overnight if I know I'm going to be using it immediately the following morning) and it won't let me log in.
By this I mean that it takes at least 15 minutes of the cursor in the middle of a black screen before it gets to the Login screen. The first time this happened, I was able to Login, but after that, none of the icons loaded up, only the taskbar. After which, a message popped up saying "WinLogin.exe - Bad Login". At which point I manually restarted the computer (as the Start button wasn't working) and chose "Start Windows normally." Now I am at the point that whenever it gets to the Login screen, it immediately restarts, and thus goes into a loop. I stopped this loop by manually restarting again, and selecting safe mode, at which point I got the following error message:
"WerFault.exe Application Error The instruction at 0x000007FEFD6C283C referenced memory at 0x000007FEFD6C283C. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc0000185. Click on OK to terminate the program." This was the only action I could take, so I did so. This immediately followed by an identical error message except with a different code, which began 0x000077....I was unable to see the rest because at that point the computer restarted.
Upon the next restart, I received a Blue Stop error message, which displayed for a few seconds before shutting down again. Key words I managed to see include: "There is an error with the program. The system was shut down to prevent damage to your computer. ...crucial thread issue...."
I literally have no idea what to do. If booting in Safe Mode has no effect, what can be done? I have also tried pressing F8 at the Dell startup screen (where it says to press F2 or F12 etc) but this just froze the machine!
I am running a 64 bit version of Windows 7 on a Dell Studio 1555 laptop.
I tried to open ViewNX2 software and got the message "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). I have searched trying to resolve the problem but have been unsuccessful.
My computer has recently had this problem where it cannot continue to run normally for more that 5 minutes or so before it slows down then BSODs. It seems to start up normally and everything works just fine for a short amount of time until applications stop responding. Sometimes the taskbar disappears and there's an error message with the title of "jusched.exe - Application Error" without the quotes. When I click ok to terminate the program I just see my wallpaper for a few seconds before it BSODs. Other times it just BSODs after applications stop responding. The part after STOP always seems to be 0x000000F4, but I'm not sure about the rest.I'd also like to know if I need to wait a certain amount of time before I can shut down my computer during the BSOD. It seems to say something like "initializing the disk for dumping" for quite some time.
Every single time I run the installer for Gears of war PC a few seconds in the install I get this message:Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid.E:hex(2):40,00,31,00,30,00,33,00,33,00
I keep getting the following errors on startup and then after awhile they will pop up again and again.
Werfault.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x73f61320 referenced mamory at 0x73f61320. The memory could not be written.Click OK to terminate the program
wermgr.exe (Same message and memory location)
