I'm not sure steam had anything to do with the crash the computer was idle and not really being stressed. The computer and its parts are all relatively new, some parts up to a year old. All drivers are up to date, as far as im aware. I think the bsod code was something lik 0x000000124. Any idea what caused it ? Driver or hardware related?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently built a PC in August for the first time and everything was working great until a few months ago. I believe the problems started when I flashed my Asus P8Z68-V motherboard with a BIOS from a different model. I finally discovered my error and flashed my BIOS to a correct version thinking this would stop the BSODs. It did not and the BSODs continue only when installing certain games on Steam and every time I "Verify Integrity of Cache", no matter what the game is. Other than these two scenarios my computer seems to run fine. I have gone through and updated all the drivers provided on the Asus product page. I also have the WHQL drivers for my nVidia GTX 570 and all the Z68 chipset drivers. I really don't know what else I can or should update as far as drivers are concerned.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've encountered this issue just now and want to make sure it is not anything too serious, there is not much to say save for the fact that as soon as I hit exit to desktop the BS appeared.My power supply unit is a very competent Corsair series unit, so I do not believe that would be an issue. I've attached the performance monitor report along with your Utility tool report.The operating system is a Windows 7 Ultimate on 64 bits, and the entire hardware is fairly new ( <2 months old ).

i just installed windows 7 yestarday and i played all day long with no problems, did a windows memory diagnostic extended and i also installed all the windows updates, sp 1 included
I just finished building my new pc and got it up and running today, but it has bluescreened six or seven times since I've been using it. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on it last night and the BSOD will pop up after 10 minutes of browsing or doing light work or even after playing a couple hours of Skyrim. Very random. I looked over some of the dump files to see a pattern but I think there are multiple things causing the BSOD. All of the hardware is new and this is my first time building a pc, though I am fairly certain that all of the hardware components are put together correctly, so I'm not sure if I need to upgrade a certain driver or what. My specs are listed under the profile and the dump files and health report are attached.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince last weeks I've had multiple BSOD's and it seems to happen mostly while I play games through steam. Games like GTA4, The witcher 2 and Sleeping dogs cause the crashes while I for some reason can play Shogun Total war 2 for hours without problems. Games that are not connected to steam, like Battlefield 3, seems to work good as well. I don't have any cd/dvd tools like Daemon tools installed.

Then after logging in, the buffer LED keeps glowing for 5 minutes and my computer is terribly slow. If I do nothing through all this operation and just wait, all will be okay. So usually I can use my laptop after 8 minutes from turning it on.On the other hand, if i directly start opening applications before the buffer LED turns off (sometime only firefox), I directly get the bsod. I didn't record the error code down but I am trying to replicate the issue and when I get the screen I will update this post.

while I was on wireless, which I think the problem might originate from, I had 3 BSODs within a span of 30 minutes. Two of the BSODs were linked to opening Netflix on Firefox and the other was caused by opening a Flash app on Chrome. If I recall correctly, the last BSOD error was something akin to Driver not less or equal? Regarding the dump files, when I went to double check that a dump file was created upon BSOD, I noticed that the option to have it overwrite was checked, so I'm not sure if the previous two BSOD dump files were recorded. Some of my previous older BSODs (which the issue was solved) were included in the folder, I believe, since the program just captured everything in the minidump folder.

I've recently built a new PC, it's my first build and I've managed to solve most problems that have occurred but I'm stuck on this one. It will load games fine if i load them straight from turning on the PC but if i run it for a while then load a game it resets itself, and doesn't leave and mini/memory dumps. The system runs fine normally and even with some old games but if i load a new game such as civilization 5 on steam or try running examples in UDK it resets.

At first i thought it was overheating but I've checked and the CPU and graphics card don't reach anywhere near a hot temperature before it crashes. I've also taken it to a local computer repair shop and the tests they ran all passed (i don't know what the tests they ran are but i'm going to call them tomorrow and find out / tell them it still crashes)
The blue screen seem to accour when trying to load a Cubase (music production program) file, randomly. Can work for hours without anything happening.Can someone plz tell me what file it's pointing to? Or if its hardware related.So far I only get blue screens when my firewire sound card is connected and I'm running Cubase. View 5 Replies View RelatedWell I will get right to it. Its a desktop I built about 4 mths ago. I was goofing off all day, ran perfect. I got my package from Tiger.com, yay new memory. I also bought a drawing tablet that came w/ photoshop ele 8 and artrage. I promptly shut down my system, installed the new stick of matching memory, Corsair DDR3 4g 1600mhz, in slot two and four, with the old stick. I was only running one stick due to an order error. I reboot. The system recognizes it, runs fine. I install photoshop ele 8 and art rage along with an update to java. So far no problems. I turn the system off to plug in the drawing tablet per the instructions it came with. When it goes to reboot, i get to the windows loading screen, the animation just starts to load when i get a flash BSOD then the moniter shuts off to no signal and the computer just sits there fans and all running. I am using Win 7 home premium 64. I can get into BIOS. I have run the launch repair. I have tried putting the memory back to the previous configuration. I have run the memory diagnostic tool. I have tried system restore but no points to restore. I have tried to repair install with Windows disc, says disc is incompatible with current version, its the same disc i used to install windows the first time. I have tried to reinstall windows twice, still does it. I have attempted to make a repair disc, didnt work. If you can tell me how to get dump files from this state i would be happy to do so. If it helps at all i am using an SSD as my main hard disk, i have a second drive but there is nothing on it atm. I am just at a loss, i know a good bit about computers but not far enough, lol. My desktop is my baby and i really wanna get it up and running again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWindows boots fine and loads the log-in screen, but usually seconds after starting to load the desktop, she gets a BSOD and the system restarts. The errors alternate between 0x000000E, 0x000000 50 and 0x000000A from what I've observed. Performance Monitor won't generate a report, giving the error "The system cannot find the path specified." I don't know how to correct for that.

My son's account was limited, but after I installed Steam for him, he had to use "Run as" and then get me to enter my Admin account details so that he could run it. This was getting tedious so I changed his account to an Admin type. Is there a way to put his account back to Limited (Family Safety will then work again) and still run Steam without using "Run as" and me entering details every time?

View 6 Replies View Relatedthis is actually a fairly common problem for people right now apparently, but the steam forums aren't any help thought I might pick a few brains here.The first time you start steam the log in always fails.The second time you start steam it logs in just fine. This appears to happen regardless of if it's set to start with windows or not. I've already played with most the network or environment variables that could be causing it. Just looking for other ideas at this point.

I tried all the things steam says to do like change download location and etc. I can download other games but this one?
One particular site that is not loading at all, on any browsers on my computer is [URL]. There are many more that fail to load as well. I did test these sites on my iPhone with no problems though. There are a handful of other sites that do open but do not load properly [missing images, ect.] I also thought that it might be malware but I installed & scanned my computer with four different programs which did not solve the problem. I'm guessing that it still may be some problem on the software side with settings but I can't seem to figure out where to look. BTW, I've been using Microsoft Security Essentials as my antivirus program for the past couple of days now. Prior to that I was using Avira but it seemed to be giving me problems so I uninstalled it and installed the Microsoft app.

I think I may have accidentally deleted some fonts, but I have no idea how.More information in these screenshots.I tried using System Restore to restoringly restore a previous restore point, but it failed and asked me to try again. When I tried again all restore points had been deleted. Isn't that just awesome?Anyway, I think re-installing all fonts might fix this. So I would like to know where I can download all default Windows 7 fonts.
