BSOD At Loading Desktop After Startup - Alternate Errors 0x000000E And 0x000000A
Apr 26, 2012
Windows boots fine and loads the log-in screen, but usually seconds after starting to load the desktop, she gets a BSOD and the system restarts. The errors alternate between 0x000000E, 0x000000 50 and 0x000000A from what I've observed. Performance Monitor won't generate a report, giving the error "The system cannot find the path specified." I don't know how to correct for that.
Laptop model is Acer Aspire 5734Z-4725
System Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU:Intel T4500 2.3 Ghz
RAM: 3GB DDR3
Video: Intel GMA 4500
OEM Software from Acer; Install's probably ~2 years old.

Unfortunately I now am running into a BSOD 0x000000a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error. I have included the JCGriff file, Perfmon, and zipped up Minidump files (2 of them to be exact). I am unsure as to what the problem of this one is. I ran MemTest86+ for over 15 Hours and 9 passes and reported no errors. I will be running a chkdsk /r /f along with a Hitachi DiskFitness test. after I post this and will report back.

The "Home Premium" version of Windows that comes with most retail computers includes a one-sided (and intentionally crippled) Remote Desktop subsystem that allows my computer to connect to other computers, but doesn't allow other users on my network to remotely control my computer from their desktops. Is there any free software that can take the place of the missing RDP server component? (I'm not ashamed to admit, I'm a cheap S.O.B. who doesn't want to pay to upgrade Windows on all the machines on my home network, especially when this is the only component from the pricier versions that I want or need.)

I have been getting the blue screen of death on my win 7 Dell desktop for about 2 weeks. I managed to back up all of my files onto an external hard drive , but then today started getting the same BSOD when starting up my toshiba win 7 home premium 64 bit notebook.
Since the BSOD on my desktop , I am unable to connect to the internet as it no longer recognises the wifi card in the PCI slot. So I will continue with the information from my notebook.
My system specs are:
Manufacturer: Toshiba
Model: Satellite L-650
Processor: AMD Phenom II P820 Triple-core 1.80 GHz

my PC has been randomly restarting 2 or 3 times last week, but I wasn't there to notice it. I just saw the event in event viewer : Event 41, bugcheck code = 10 But this afternoon playing Skyrim, I had 2 BSOD. Nothing when just running Windows normally tought. I did a torture test pf 3 hours of my CPU using P95, no problem, did a short DST in DOS using Seatool DOS, all ok. Ran Memtest for 45 min, no problem, altough I plan on testing more lated. To me it smells like a videocard failing, as it is mostly happening while gaming (about 20min in the game), and the first time I rebooted, the screen was flickering when I was moving windows around.

So I opened my laptop this morning, tried to log in and was stuck on the welcome screen for about 10 minutes. I restarted using the power button and when restarting it said "loading files" then went to a black screen. I restarted again and it gave me the option to select a safe mode or startup normally. I selected safe mode and I was stuck on the startup bit with the windows logo for 10 minutes and then it went back to the selection screen this time with the options being startup repair and launch windows normally. I selected startup repair and it went to a black screen for 10 minutes, then went to a screen like the login screen background but grey. It wasn't frozen and I could still move the mouse so I could tell it was loading and I waited >20 minutes and it didn't change. I restarted and did the same thing multiple times.

Despite the quick boot that I get with my SSD i am unable to begin using my PC immediately after the boot completes. When the desktop appears I see all the icons fully loaded, but then they suddenly become white files and will slowly load back for about 10-15 seconds. During this time I am unable to click on any of the icons and use the programs. Most of them are shortcuts, is the OS reconnecting the file paths? It's obviously not that bad, but it is a tad inconvenient. Will reducing the number of shortcuts on my desktop reduce this, and are there any other fixes?

I have not seen the problem but according to phone conversations when she turns the PC on she gets a black screen with a message that the file system is being checked, but the checking stops with an "unknown error", the black screen flashes and then she gets to her normal log-in screen. This has been going on for a few weeks (ARRRGGHH). The only reason she called me was that she lost internet connectivity this morning.I had her login, open a command prompt, and type in CHKDSK /f but the system returns an ACCESS denied and says she need elevated credentials to run this. As I said she is the only user and she is listed as an administrator under account controls. I had her create a new user account with administrator privileges but NO JOY she still cannot run CHKDSK /f.This is sounding a bit like a virus but I was wondering if anyone had some thoughts on why, or how, administrator privileges are being overridden?

I was told second hand by her that it was after a windows update install). I attempted startup repair multiple times with no real outcome until i swapped over my main os hdd and was then able to run startup repair on her hdd. From that point on I was able to run win 7 from either drive rather succesfully until the next day. I receieved a text message from the wife while I was at work stating windows updated again and startup was not possible ( thus again i have no idea what update it was). since that point I have been unable to even run startup repair.

SOMETIMES when i startup the computer, all of the processes don't load( I checked the task manager). When the computer starts in this way, it kinda freezes and not much works until the rest of the processes load. ( i need 47 or so to start properly. when i am having trouble, only 37 load). And when they finally do load, Internet is super duper slow. Also not much else is fast at all. But, if at this point i restart the computer, and IF the processes load properly(all 47 or so) I have no issues. The computer is really fast and does as it should.

I have Win 7 64bit Ultimate. At every startup I get the following errors in that sequence:[CODE]The only symptom is at restart, when the welcome screen disappears for a split second, then comes back (probably at the time when dwm exits and restarts?). Then I have a black screen with the mouse for 2-3 or 3-4 secs (as if the pc struggles to log on to the account) and then normally to desktop. That of course delays the startup but from then on all is normal.
From googling around I interpret those errors something like AERO exits at the beginning but comes back, then problems with logging into the user account but finally logging in is normal. I only have one administrative account and nothing else.I suspect some kind of user profile corruption but cannot pinpoint it, since I get no errors apart from the log.I have only managed to reproduce the following: I get into safe mode and aero is (normally) auto-disabled. When I restart in normal mode, aero is not activated automatically but the computer starts in basic display mode and I activate aero manually.

I started messing around with my laptop and PC trying to Remote Access them from one to another locally before doing set up my router to do port forwarding. I noticed that none of my laptops in my house can connect to my PC for Remote Access but I can connect to any laptop from my pc. I don't know what's going on. I've changed the IP on my PC 4 times and still nothing. Hard reset on my router, but nothing.

I am currently using windows 7 ultimate x64. I was in the middle of a process restoring my computer to a few days back and suddenly it froze. I did a power shut down and when I turned it back on, I wasn't able to get back into windows. I was brought to startup repair and it gave me errors. 'Boot manager failed to find OS loader'. There was options for restoring, but all my restore points were gone. Recovery wasn't able to find image backup.
"Startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically". I was told to go into safe mode to restore, but whenever I enter safe mode, startup repair would take over and shows the same errors, also I read a tutorial using a repair disc ( made a copy of it on someone elses ultimate x64 computer) and I get the 0x00000e9 error if i boot from disc. What can I do? As of now I don't have the installation disc with me. I wont be able to get hold of it until tomorrow. There's a lot of important files in that hard drive and I really cant lose any.

i've been having bsod on win 7 for over a week, i have had these problems previously, win 7 32bit to 64bit reinstall worked last time. this time i have tried installing win 8 pro 64bit to separate ssd drive. clean install, also having similar issues. i've started debugging some of the dumps. a few have pointed to avg and the gpu. i uninstalled avg and used driver sweeper to remove video, sound and ethernet drivers. this had only made the bsod take slightly longer to happen. sometimes the are happen under load (utorrent and playing bangbang racing), other time just Internet, and even while idle(just utorrent). i have stress tested the gpu, cpu, and run check on ram and hdd. i am leaning to faulty motherboard but i don't want to fork out for a new one until i cam be 100%.

I am trying to sell my Dell XPS L401X (XPS 14) that I bought in December of 2010 but I have encountered a serious problem with it. I loaded the computer from factory settings as it had blue screen and refused to start up without startup repair and dell datasafe backup or w/e that program is called. I loaded it up, installed Google Chrome, cleared my history on IE, downloaded MSE, the latest nvidia drivers and java 7 64 and deleted all those and emptied the recycle bin once done installing those. I shut down the computer to install updates and get a blue screen as soon as it passes the startup screen. Every time I attempt to launch using startup repair it just opens up another window with a black screen and the option of startup repair and normal repair, never actually going to startup repair, just continually refreshing every time I select startup repair.

So my pc has been randomly freezing and locking up after an hour or two of use and i cant figure out why. I have updated my graphics card and bios.I have tried both ram sticks in individually into the first slot, so unless both ram sticks went bad at the exact same time, they should be ok. I did try to run memtest overnight, but upon waking i found that the pc had restarted.I have cleaned out the pc of dust, and the heat seems fine on cpu, gpu, and mobo.I have run a full av scan with malware bytes and cleared up registry and temp files with ccleaner.

if it was an OS thing or an SSD thing. I was running Windows 7 on my OCZ Vertex 3 60GB since Christmas. On the logon screen, after I typed my password and pressed Enter, the desktop loaded in 0.5 seconds to 1 second. Everything ready to use. A few weeks ago I bought an Intel 520 120GB and did a fresh format install of Windows on it. Now though, it loads the login screen just as fast as before but from the moment I press Enter, it takes anywhere from 5-10 seconds to boot to desktop. What gives? The only thing different is that I'm dual booting now with Hackintosh, but it's still on separate drives, and my Lion drive (which is on the OCZ) is the drive where the bootloader lies. Would this be what's causing this slowness though? When I do SSD benchmarks the speeds are actually on par with my OCZ so I'm not sure I can fault the drive for this one. But I don't have anything more/less installed than before.

I am having a problem with Windows 7 64-bit loading the desktop, I get and error message that goes some thing like:
AsusSetup
C:userslucappdataXXXXXXXXXXXX.inf is lost!
I believe it is related to the chipset driver. I have already reinstalled all of the others but the chipset driver setup app will not run properly. If I run the old one it just prompts for a restart and doesn't do anything, if I run the new one it just claims I am using an unsupported OS. Is there any way to remove the chipset driver from the device manager or some other location? I am unsure of which one it is. I'll try to get a screenshot next time.
This issue just popped up out of nowhere it was running fine one day and the next this.

i5 3570K

Asus Sabertooth Z77

I'm currently having a problem with my computer in regards to what the title states, and I was hoping I could receiv I am not by any means a very tech savvy person.Turn on computer goes through the Microsoft screen and so forthWelcome loading screen comes up which is shortly replaced by a 5 minute loading screen of "Loading Desktop"After that I am put into a Temp. Profile. The message I receive is~ "Your user profile was not loaded correctlyYou have been logged on with a temporary profile."From what I understand this strongly indicates that my profile was corrupted, and this is also suggested by the research I have done. Though I was hoping it isn't so and what options are available to me

I have installed windows 7 on my computer about a year ago. I've never had any problems to the point where I would need to reinstall the OS, however, I've noticed that on cold boots the system runs painfully slow, it will boot up fairly fast on a normal restart tho, like 20-35 seconds. On a cold boot it can take about 1-2 minutes to load in windows, and then once that happens its not so much it going slow as that there is a point during which I cannot click anything or else it will take forever to accomplish.
What I mean by this is, it will load to my desktop and for a period of about 3 more minutes I will try to right click on the desktop and it will do the circle thing for like 20 seconds before giving me the drop down menu. If I right click again right after, it shows up instantly. Same with trying to open up a file within those first couple of minutes. It will take like 45 seconds to open a picture. I have tweaked my windows 7 to startup only necessary drivers and turned off search index along with Aero.
My HDD isn't fragmented and I've got about 120gbs out of 450 available. So its not that bad. Now some of you may say, well its just loading the processes. But I only have catalyst control center loading up as a startup item. And even after it loads. It goes through a wierd 3-4 minute phase in which everything is slow as hell. Then works perfectly fine.
