BSOD Possibly Caused By Dtsoftbus01 On New Build
Nov 28, 2011
I've been getting a BSOD sometimes on start up or shortly after. I've used the debugger to check the dump file and the driver that would appear to be faulty is dtsoftbus01 which from what I read is daemon tools. I had daemon tools on this computer at one point in time but I've since reformatted my hard drive so daemon tools shouldn't still be installed.

My computer with Windows 7 Home Edition x64 has been getting frequent BSOD as well as being super slow and unresponsive. I have attached a copy of the recent dump files hoping to find anything out as to why this is happening.

I've experienced 2 BSOD's today, both within 30 minutes of turning on the computer. I was doing nothing extraordinary either time, just browsing the web (in fact, the second time I was getting ready to post this). The blue screen flashed too quickly but I think it was stop error 116 and the file was ati something .sys. I suspect gfx card because of this. I've attached all the dump information.
OS is OEM, reinstalled 1 year ago. Mobo, CPU, RAM, secondary HDD are 2.5 years old. SSD (boot drive) is 1 year old. Gfx card, PSU are 6 months old. Other maybe useful info about the gfx card is that it has been behaving strangely before. Last week and other times, Windows Aero would suddenly turn off, and the gfx temperature would rise ~5-10C and fan would go crazy. Rebooting fixed this, at least temporarily.

the first time it bsoded it gave a 'problem with hardware' error which made me really scared. at that time i forgot to turn enable minidumps, so i couldnt post here for help. since then i have gotten a bsod once more with minidump enabled? also, i am using the nvidia geforce 560ti.. and the latest nvidia drivers cause my computer to freeze up occasionally when i watch Internet videos. the Internet video will turn black with pink lines and my computer would freeze up. apparently some others have been having the same problem.
computer specs:
i5 2500k non overclocked
8 gig ram
geforce 560ti

So I've gotten a BSOD twice and decided to use a diagnosing program to see why it was happening. It picked up that ntoskrnl.exe is causing the BSOD. Why is it happening? What do I do from here?
I attached the .dmp file.

I just built my girlfriend's PC a few days ago, all was well but now a BSOD appears randomly, so after using BlueScreenView on the dump files it all originates from one driver. The PC in questions specs are almost identical to my own (minus the 1TB HDD and her MOBO is the Rev 3.1 version of the same MOBO).

So my system have BSOD'd 5 times today, after reformatting it last month due to multiple BSODing of the same nature. After examining what I've been doing on my system today, it appears that uTorrent may be the culprit, as it only seems to be happening when the application is open. This could be a coincidence though as the blue screens seems to happen sporadically. This is the error that pops up after I reboot.

my Windows 7 Ultimate started bugging out of me a couple days ago. Problem first started right after an windows update I believe, and originally presented as no desktop loading after log on, only a black screen with a cursor. Restored, ran chkdsk and repair and they problem disappeared but now these unexpected crashes keep popping up. Have never actually seen the BSOD yet, computer is always rebooted when I come back to it.

So I've been having random BSOD's for 10 day's now - They appear at complete random and I can't tell why, Each time they display 'Memory Management' - I can normally diagnose them and narrow it down, However I cannot seem to do so. Can an expert have a look at the dumps and see if they can work it out?

I get the BSOD when restarting my machine (which I rarely do). It kicks in several seconds after my desktop comes up. After it restarts, it's usually fine (although sometimes it hits a second BSOD). But, once it's up and stable, no more BSOD.

I then got a BSOD and my boot disk (an SSD) disappeared from the BIOS. I thought I was in big trouble. I have another controller so I plugged the SSD into the other one and booted to it and rolled back to the MS driver (just for the SATA controller). I then put everything back together.
Everything seems to work now. Do I need to take any further steps to prevent this from happening again? What happened?

I'm using an Alienware M17x R4 with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660m.
I've been using this laptop for about 3 months now and everything has been running fine. Yesterday, I was playing Skyrim testing out a new mod from nexusmods. I've read on the description and comments and there were no problems associated with the mod. While I was using it a received a BSOD. When I restarted the computer my resolution was reset. I right clicked on the desktop and the options for my Nvidia control panel were gone along with the other options for the Intel Graphics control panel.
After a while my first display adapter came back which was the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000. I looked up as much as I could about the problem and it was usually associated with the display adapters being reverted to something like Standard VGA Adapter. This applied to the Intel graphics, but that was all. It was as if my graphics card vanished and I can't find it under device manager. When I try installing/reinstalling the Nvidia drivers it says that there is no Nvidia hardware. I've tried waiting a couple of hours with the laptop shut down, finding it in safemode, and searched for even more solutions. I can't seemed to find any. The last thing I did was check the BIOS and it said that the Discrete Graphics Card was not detected.

I have built a computer almost exactly to the one that they had built for Jeff on Tested.com. Everything seemed to install fine and run smoothly. Recently, I have been getting BSODs and they seem to be somewhat random. Usually when I am watching movies/streaming online/listening to music in Zune or iTunes. I don't really understand why this is happening. I have been looking around the internet and many people say that memory could be the problem but I have tested it with the windows memory test tool, all results have come back with no errors. I for some reason cannot Memtest to run.

All of these components are less than days old, bought new and put straight into this build. Keep getting a BSOD so I guess I'll try to give as much information as I can and hopefully someone can give me a hand. It's also worth noting that it seems to occur more frequently while playing Star Wars the Old Republic but has also occurred while not doing so. I have a new custom built computer put together by someone I work with. I have been plagued with problems and I think it's hardware related. I got my friend to reinstall Windows but it crashed several times before install completed. He said he tried on my SSD and Samsung HD but still the same problems occur.Ran Memtest and passed several cycles but tried again and got errors. I removed a ram stick and it passed but got a BSOD after 30 minutes of browsing the web. Then the other stick had the same problems but passed Memtest for 20 minutes until the text on screen garbled where errors are usually listed. I reran test and it passed for a long time. I have no overclock and everything is running at correct voltage. Seems to be very random and can happen when purposely restarting my PC or doing barely anything at all.I'm starting to think it's either the RAM or motherboard causing the problems. Here are my components-
i7 2600k
Gigabyte G1.Sniper 2 Z68
8 GB G.Skill 1866 Ram
ATI 6950
OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB SSD
1TB Samsung HD
Corsair HX850W PSU
I include my last batch of crash dumps since I had Windows reinstalled.I might have to RMA something but want to narrow things down.

Got to be quick because I've already had a BSOD trying to post this. This is a new build. All new components. All kinds of error codes contantly. I've updated Bios, SSD firmware, all drivers I can find, did a clean reinstall of Windows 7, ran memtest86 twice (20 passes total) on both sticks no errors, ran chkdsk -no errors although I see one today from my bios resetting defaults to IDE instead of ACHI - my fault. Ran Driver Verifier and came up with a violation in Event Viewer but I don't know how to read it. And yes I wear ESD straps etc. when I work on it.Also no overclocking / unlocking - everything is stock / default.

I built this rig 3 weeks ago. Never had any glitches or problems. Just randomly today while web browsing I got a BSOD. I don't know how to access the BSOD files to see the cause. Can someone please help me troubleshoot, i've never dealt with this before. I don't overclock just so everyone knows. I ran prime 95 for about an hour with all passes and perfect temps.

I have built a few computers over the years and this is the first one that has had an issue that has totally stumped me. I have built it for the parents. Now as far as i can tell everything is fine with the build, but the computer is randomly BSOD,especially when running the WINDOWS VERIFIER, to catch the error (BSOD on startup).I have used a program to analyze the results of the Verifier and this is the result:
On Wed 5/23/2012 9:14:30 AM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:Windowsmemory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ndisrd.sys (ndisrd+0x266E)
Bugcheck code: 0xC4 (0x40, 0x0, 0xFFFFF9800ED66C50, 0x0)
Error: DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION
