I keep getting a random BSOD, I get it a lot in Lightroom 3 but have gotten the same error doing nothing.

So I've gotten a BSOD twice and decided to use a diagnosing program to see why it was happening. It picked up that ntoskrnl.exe is causing the BSOD. Why is it happening? What do I do from here?

I just built my girlfriend's PC a few days ago, all was well but now a BSOD appears randomly, so after using BlueScreenView on the dump files it all originates from one driver.The PC in questions specs are almost identical to my own (minus the 1TB HDD and her MOBO is the Rev 3.1 version of the same MOBO).

Problem first started right after an windows update I believe, and originally presented as no desktop loading after log on, only a black screen with a cursor. Restored, ran chkdsk and repair and they problem disappeared but now these unexpected crashes keep popping up. Have never actually seen the BSOD yet, computer is always rebooted when I come back to it.

My system get freezes everything and suddenly goes into BSOD stating Driver Power State Failure. I am attaching the mini dump along with the screen shots. With Bluescreen View i could find out that it caused by ntoskrnl.exe

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been experiencing DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE crashes lately caused by ntoskrnl.exe.I originally thought I would reinstall Windows 7 but that has not fixed the issue I am using OEM Windows 7 Professional x64 The CPU is a i7 2600 The PC is only no more than 2 yrs old.I d have an old Canon scanner LiDE 100 that I expect is causing the problem. The PC was working fine for over a year until NOv 2011 and then started crashing. I reinstallled Windows 7 all seamed to be fine util I loaded the software for the scanner. I have loaded the latest software from the canon site.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst off, the perfmon /report thing did not work, after a minute, it says "The way for the report generation tool to finish has timed out" right under "Error: An error occured while attempting to generate the report." If I click perfmon /report and run as admin, it doesn't give me anything I can save. I hope it's not a big deal. The BSOD happens while I am playing games, I think, it's only occured 3 times, twice was while playing games, and the 3 was forced because I used advice from this site and check driver verification, afterwards, it wouldn't start, it just went to the BSOD, so I booted into safe mode and and unchecked all of them, the first BSOD happened a couple days ago, and the major problem is I can't do a system restore because I don't have any resort points before the first BSOD, the only option I can think of now is uninstalling my entire OS which is definitely a last resort.

View 9 Replies View RelatedThis has been going on for a while now. I replaced my motherboard and a bad hard drive. I run off an SSD (samsung 830) as my boot drive with a 1 TB hard drive for storage. I ran memtest multiple times with no errors. Could this be a failing PSU?The debug info in WhoCrashed said this was not a hardware issue but most likely a driver.I uninstalled all the audio drivers except the one I used just in case. I reverted all my overclocking for the CPU and ram back to default.

i am in dire need of some help with my pc. I am experiencing numerous BSOD issues. It started out whilst gaming with Battlefield 3 but is now happening all the time weather it be browsing the internet or just doing nothing. (If it helps firefox is crashing all the time). the computer is 10 months old and ran fine up until recently.I have had page fault, memory management, NTFS fault, bad pool, system exception.I have reviewed the forums and tried all the usual fixes, which goes along these lines:I used memtestx86 on my ram and found i had a dead stick so i purchased new 2 x 2G OZ 1333mhz, tested them for 20hrs and when they tested fine replaced the old sticks. Great i thought sorted, alas no.I removed AVG as one of the dmp files indicated it was that.nope carried out a chkdsk / r which showed no errors I removed all my nvidea drivers as they were being indicated but no its now worse than ever.I have attached the minidump files i have had over the past two days.

yesterday I started expericing BSOD on startup with the following error message, I can boot system from safe mode; and i have ran memory diagnostic test and hard drive test can no problem has been found. Btw windows boots normally when I removes atikmpag.sys, I have attached a error dump file.

After examining what I've been doing on my system today, it appears that uTorrent may be the culprit, as it only seems to be happening when the application is open. This could be a coincidence though as the blue screens seems to happen sporadically.This is the error that pops up after I reboot.

i have been gettings BSOD randomly for sometime, i thought i solved it before when updating the drivers for my GPU, but it seems to be back, so maybe it wasnt solved?.
i found a dump file, but not sure if its correct but it probably is, maybe you can find out something?

I've been getting a BSOD sometimes on start up or shortly after. I've used the debugger to check the dump file and the driver that would appear to be faulty is dtsoftbus01 which from what I read is daemon tools. I had daemon tools on this computer at one point in time but I've since reformatted my hard drive so daemon tools shouldn't still be installed.

I have another controller so I plugged the SSD into the other one and booted to it and rolled back to the MS driver (just for the SATA controller). I then put everything back together.
Everything seems to work now. Do I need to take any further steps to prevent this from happening again? What happened?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been getting BSOD's with the POOL_CORRUPTION_IN_FILE_AREA reason and once or twiceMEMORY_MANAGEMENT. I ran memtest86+ and no errors were reported. BlueScreenView shows that it's ntoskrnl.exe causing the crashes. The crashes recently have been happening quicker (1-2 hours) with uTorrent running, and if I load uTorrent after the crash reboot, it crashes almost immediately. In the past, it would crash every couple of days right after clicking on a button in any program.
