BSOD WHILE GAMING Ks.sys Ntoskrnl.exe?
Aug 4, 2012
I constantly get BSOD while gaming. ive done a memtest, replaced the ram, replaced the video card, ran chkdsk, uninstalled usual suspects avast daemon tools etc., and nothing. the most prevalent error message isDRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. ive attached a zip with all my dmp files.

This has been going on for a while now. I replaced my motherboard and a bad hard drive. I run off an SSD (samsung 830) as my boot drive with a 1 TB hard drive for storage. I ran memtest multiple times with no errors. Could this be a failing PSU?The debug info in WhoCrashed said this was not a hardware issue but most likely a driver.I uninstalled all the audio drivers except the one I used just in case. I reverted all my overclocking for the CPU and ram back to default.

i am in dire need of some help with my pc. I am experiencing numerous BSOD issues. It started out whilst gaming with Battlefield 3 but is now happening all the time weather it be browsing the internet or just doing nothing. (If it helps firefox is crashing all the time). the computer is 10 months old and ran fine up until recently.I have had page fault, memory management, NTFS fault, bad pool, system exception.I have reviewed the forums and tried all the usual fixes, which goes along these lines:I used memtestx86 on my ram and found i had a dead stick so i purchased new 2 x 2G OZ 1333mhz, tested them for 20hrs and when they tested fine replaced the old sticks. Great i thought sorted, alas no.I removed AVG as one of the dmp files indicated it was that.nope carried out a chkdsk / r which showed no errors I removed all my nvidea drivers as they were being indicated but no its now worse than ever.I have attached the minidump files i have had over the past two days.

Unfortunately sometimes it does not actually BSOD so no dump is recorded, however by luck i saved one to documents a few days ago and i put that in a folder entitled "olddump". After interrogating that one and the two that followed (unfortunately those ones are lost) i believe the error has something to do with ntoskrnl.exe something about symbols not found,I first started getting errors whilst playing battlefield 3, i can usually play bf3 reasonably with no lag, get the odd crash but these ones were different and ended up in a restart or bsod, the problem is and why i am so sketchy is the errors occurred extremely randomly, and sometimes after extended periods of gametime.It wasnt too much of an issue and i didnt give it much thought until i tried to play the guild wars 2 beta weekend, then i was hit with almost constant BSOD 1 or 2 minutes into getting in, this one was alot easier to pinpoint and after a few restarts i worked out it was FRAPS that was causing the problems, i disabled and it worked fine.In between this i was playing Age of Empires 3 on-line with no problems at all.When the BWE3 finished i gave my computer a spring clean, clearing out all dust, getting rid of all the "crap" i didnt need, removed all my old fraps videos and gave it a defrag, disk cleanup, full virus scan, i defiantly noticed the difference.I began playing Empire Total War and i received a number of BSOD, also some crashes which froze my computer and what i can only describe as gave a "blind" effect on the screen, the sound turned into a "hum"?I had a previous problem like this with my RAM so i did a memtest, it detected no errors at all. I have 1 stick of DDR3 RAM 4GB which i am unable to change at present.Last night i did every scan i possibly could, i ran a chkdsk, defrag, sfc scan, full virus scan, registry clean.. yet when i get back into Empire Total War this afternoon exactly the same thing although this time it just shut down.I have been monitoring temperatures at idle for the past week now and the temps rarely go above 42 idle and are quite consistent (GPU stays under 40), as i say fans are cleared of dust and can confirm they are all spinning.I think it is graphical related simply because it only happens when i play video games although the "ntoskrnl.exe" i got from the dump file makes me think it may be some NT coding, i am really not sure?Over the period of the errors i have done the following;
- updated my graphic card to the latest drivers
- carried out various scans/cleanups
- searched google to try and find what is wrong with limited success
- i have even tried gently shaking my desk incase something was loose or faulty
- removed/put back different USB (printer etc.) to see if that made a difference
I did notice whilst playing movies from DVD, it would freeze at specific points, no big deal but it froze my whole computer for a good 5 minutes when i tried to move on, maybe related maybe not.Things i am unable to do
- Buy/change hardware , unfortunately this is not possible at present although i am looking at purchasing more RAM.
Things i am unwilling to do
- Windows reinstall, i really would like to keep this as a last last resort, simply because the amount i would have to backup, i really dont have the time or patience although if it is the only option then i will obviously consider it.
Things i am going to try
- another ckhdsk, i did one but not sure i did it correctly, i tried to do one while posting this but had to exit it due to lagging my pc
- paying different games to really isolate the issue
- get another BSOD so i can grab the newest minidump
Specs (also in .zip file)
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 B40 Processor
DDR3 4GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series

I've been getting BSOD's with the POOL_CORRUPTION_IN_FILE_AREA reason and once or twiceMEMORY_MANAGEMENT. I ran memtest86+ and no errors were reported. BlueScreenView shows that it's ntoskrnl.exe causing the crashes. The crashes recently have been happening quicker (1-2 hours) with uTorrent running, and if I load uTorrent after the crash reboot, it crashes almost immediately. In the past, it would crash every couple of days right after clicking on a button in any program.

I've been getting this bluescreen error sometimes when watching videos and I can also get it every time I try to install a specific game (it plays music in the background when installing) when clicking the next button after inputting the serial. I think this has something to do with the drivers but am not sure which one. I have updated all of the drivers I can from the Asus page a few months ago. I have checked for newer ones but I can't find any on the manufacturer's page.Laptop Model: Asus N53JQ-XR1 The OS is Win 7x64 OEM.The system is about 2 years old.The OS has not been reinstalled.

So I've gotten a BSOD twice and decided to use a diagnosing program to see why it was happening. It picked up that ntoskrnl.exe is causing the BSOD. Why is it happening? What do I do from here?
I attached the .dmp file.

I just built my girlfriend's PC a few days ago, all was well but now a BSOD appears randomly, so after using BlueScreenView on the dump files it all originates from one driver. The PC in questions specs are almost identical to my own (minus the 1TB HDD and her MOBO is the Rev 3.1 version of the same MOBO).

Computer is a few years old, a home build, running Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Haven't really had too many problems other than the occasional BSOD or random restart, but it's gotten a lot worse lately so I wanna get to the bottom of it.The two errors I've gotten are Memory Management and System Service Exception, both seem to be linked to the ntoskrnl.exe file. I also ran the System File Checker and got the following error reported: "Cannot repair member file [l:24{12}]"kerberos.dll" of Microsoft-Windows-Security-Kerberos". Lastly I ran the windows memory diagnostic and it detected several hardware errors.
1)A system restore to a couple weeks ago
2)Repair the system/OS with my Windows 7 disc
3)Replace the RAM
Wanted to post here before I try any of those though. Whew ok sorry to be long winded but wanted to provide as much info as possible.

initially my comp would just crash and i would have to power off to reboot. now im getting bsods instead, i have tried to work out the cause of these by myself but they all apear to be caused by different problems. i have looked at a lot of other bsod threads and i have used verifier.exe which created one of the memdumps.
i seem to get them whilst playing games such as lol or fallout or watching Internet videos, but sometimes i have had them for no reason at startup. i have done a fair amount of virus and malware scanning just incase it was somthing like that but its most probably a driver? i have uploaded the bsod files,

I fitted a new hard drive and re-installed the OS for this client. After a couple of weeks it started to blue screen. At first I thought their usb wireless adapter was at fault. I removed it and everything was ok for another week or so. Then the BSODs started again.
I have tested the RAM and HDD - both fine. I have used Eurosoft PC-Check to stress test the machine and it was fine. I used the same software to test the motherboard and it passed fine. I used Prime95 64 bit to torture test the machine and again it wouldn't crash. Also I have run mbam and superantispyware and the machine is spyware free. It also has the latest video drivers installed. Typically since I brought it back to the office it has behaved impeccably in every way

my Windows 7 Ultimate started bugging out of me a couple days ago. Problem first started right after an windows update I believe, and originally presented as no desktop loading after log on, only a black screen with a cursor. Restored, ran chkdsk and repair and they problem disappeared but now these unexpected crashes keep popping up. Have never actually seen the BSOD yet, computer is always rebooted when I come back to it.

For the past month I have been randomly getting BSOD when my computer wakes up from sleep. My first crash was 25 days after install, and now it happens every 3-5 days. Usually just once, and I can never seem to replicate. But it happens only when the comp is waking up, never when in use. I have tried to induce it by sleep/wake repeatedly but it happens totally randomly.
I typically don't leave my computer on for prolonged periods so I can't say it wouldn't do this after being turned on for 3 days but I have yet to have a crash like that.
My system is overclocked/watercooled and had been running stable with Vista x64 since it was built in Jan 09. I installed Win 7X64 Ultimate 7100 on July 5 2009.
So, far I have tried:
Reinstalling chipset, and updating all USB pheripheral drivers.
Update video and sound drivers
Uninstalling all windows updates
Removed one 4870 and disabled crossfire
Full repair of windows (not clean install)
Overnight memtest 8 passes
Prime 95 multithread 9 hours with no failures
Last Night I tried:
Updating chipset again, bios, and raid firmware.
Disconnecting my UPS from the USB port.
I am at a loss for what is causing this. I've seen a few threads around with
ntoskrnl issues, but none that happen only on wake up. Tonight I plan to do some PSU testing.
Does anyone have any ideas about this, mini dump file is attached ?
