All of these components are less than days old, bought new and put straight into this build. Keep getting a BSOD so I guess I'll try to give as much information as I can and hopefully someone can give me a hand. It's also worth noting that it seems to occur more frequently while playing Star Wars the Old Republic but has also occurred while not doing so. I built a computer about a month ago and ever since the first attempt to install windows it has been giving me blue screens. The computer is working someone fine most of the time now, but still has a daily to twice a day blue screen error. I have done everything that google has said (Memtest, driver updates, HDD diagnostics, BIOS update, check registry, scan for virus, etc.)
I have been experiencing random reboots with my fresh Win 7 x64 build. I am suspecting either a bad ram sticks or ATI video card issue. I have attached the minidump and performance report logs.
Upon inserting the windows installation disk into the drive, the basic windows procedures took place. It then asked where we wanted to intall the windows operating system. We decided we wanted to partition his one and only hard drive (a 1TB Seagate at 7200rpm or so). We chose a 100GB partition to be the primary drive where the operating system would be installed. Windows also created a 104mb drive for system files or some nonsense. That left a 900 GB partition that would NOT have windows 7 installed on it. Everything installed, PC booted up and when we open windows explorer, the 900 GB drive does not appear. Maybe it has not been formatted?
I was having many random bluescreens on my old home build. I upgraded my Videocard to an Nvidia GTX 550 Ti thinking that it was videocard related. After fresh install I'm still getting BSODs.
I have been getting bsods recently at first it was only when trying to play BF3 i couldnt play for more than 5 min before bsod. now its moving its way into normal functions.i will include a dx diag and cpu z .txt file Here are the reports from the time frame i recieved the bsod. Iwill also include the one i got last night before i gave up.Let me know if there is anything else I should include
CPU: Intel i5 2500K clocked at 4.0ghz (stock voltage) Cooler: Corsair H50 Cooler Graphics: Zotac GTX 560 TI OC AMP edition RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x 4GB Ram 1600MHZ DDR3 1600 Hard Drive: Intel 320 160GB Solid State 1.8" Motherboard: Biostar TP67B+ Power Supply: Antec Power Supply 400W High Current Sound card: HT Omega Claro Plus
After running the computer for about a year, with all updated drivers and such, BSODs starts to occur. At first, I assume it was a virus (had avast before); so I decided to fully reformat the hard drive with Windows 7 x64 Ultimate again. I remember reading the BSOD screen, and sometimes they had different error codes. Strangely, sometimes my hard drive would not be detected until I had to restart many times until a successful detection for the SSD would occur. So I reformatted, however; in the process of installing my first driver (Nvidia for GTX 560), I got a BSOD. Giving up hope, I decided to come here and report the problem. After that I just installed several drivers but not all.
I've just made a new fresh install of Windows 7 - 64bits (legal version). Everything was fine, all drivers were up to date. But, when I install updates from Windows Update, during the installation of the SP1 (when the screen is "do not turn off the computer"), the computer reboots, and it said that it occurs a BSOD !? I've seen nothing. According to Whocrashed, it's because of BAD_POOL_HEADER, from ntoskrnl.exe (which belongs to Nvidia I think) and e1c62x64.sys (for Intel LAN)... After reboot, Windows continues slowly its updates like everything was OK... but I wonder is that SP1 & updates have been compromised (poorly done, half or what) 'cause of this BSOD? Should I reformat the computer?Windows Update indicates that all these updates were successful...
my computer is about 2 years old. It first came with Windows vista 64. A few months ago I got a hold of a copy of windows 7 pro 32, so I wanted to check it out, even If I was going to take a hit on ram. Well now I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64, but after doing a fresh install I kept getting BSOD after the windows logo. I was able to complete the setup after removing all my ram except for one stick. The same problem persists after setup. I can boot up in safe mode just fine with all of my ram.
This PC has ran fine since 2008 when it was built. It was recently updated to Windows 7 Pro OEM. During the OS upgrade it had more memory added (4x2GB, all slots filled). Upgrade and install went flawlessly. All software (photoshop, premiere, firefox, antivirus) was re-installed without any errors or hick-ups. Upon updating firefox (I believe the timing was co-incidence) it Blue Screened. It has had issues ever since. So my last stitch effort was to back everything up and re-install Windows and hope that it fixed the problem. Needless to say that it hasn't been fixed and it still randomly blue screens. Windows Memory Diagnostic ran with no errors returned
Bought a new computer 2 weeks ago, came in 3 days ago. Been having trouble with it since. Usually I'm the "Mr. Fix-it" when it comes to PC's but I've never messed around with any debugging tools.
I've tried all the troubleshooting you can possibly do when trying to diagnose a blue screen of death. Tried both RAM sticks separately, took the video card out and used on-board video. I even tried both RAM sticks with on-board video separately. Unplugged the DVD-ROM, no avail. I called ASRock and got a technician who I could barely understand, but was telling me something about "XMP". I didn't see the XMP option under the DRAM configuration, even if my sticks don't support it wouldn't the option still be there? I think he has my motherboard confused with another one. He told me to either replace the RAM with new RAM or send the motherboard back in and exchange it.
I came here to see what the BSoD DMP files REALLY have to say the problem is, so I can solve it once and for all. I didn't pay for new hardware to let it sit here and collect dust.
SPECS: Nothing is OC'd except the GPU, it was OC'd straight from the factory
I reinstalled windows yesterday cause sql server 2008 gave me hard time (i couldnt remove it entirely)...before that, system was working for like 2 years...Also, one of the reason is often crashes and bsods in game Tribes Ascend...So yesterday i installed some drivers on fresh windows, some programs etc and everything was ok...then on second run, Tribes crashed and i knew at that point that the problem is hardware...Couple of minutes ago i started new counter strike, got bsod and i said **** it...if you guys pinpoint the problem, if not i'll have to buy new machine soon...
details:
win 7 ultimate x64 not original, applied oem activator hardware is old 2,5 years, maybe 3 reinstalled yesterday
Ive ran memtest86 4.0a and i found several million errors. So i scanned through 1 and 1 ramslot to try to determine which ram was giving the errors, this only resulted in 1 of my 4 ram had only 1 error? I found this weird so i thought it might be the DIMM thats corrupted.
So now i removed 3 of my rams and i only run with 1 which passed the test. Still i get unexpected shutdowns aka BSOD.
Ive tried to remove my SSD and only use my HDD back and forth , changing to IDE inside BIOS, but with no good results at all.. Ive also tried to change my PSU to a different brand, but all volts seems ok. I also reinstalled windows with USB, CD, from HDD yeah you name it, different versions... etc.. i even tried to install Windows 8 but with the same result
This all actually just started out of the blue, i have no clue how but i didnt install anything , all of the sudden i started having connection problems which resulted in BSOD.
I have built a computer almost exactly to the one that they had built for Jeff on Tested.com. Everything seemed to install fine and run smoothly. Recently, I have been getting BSODs and they seem to be somewhat random. Usually when I am watching movies/streaming online/listening to music in Zune or iTunes. I don't really understand why this is happening. I have been looking around the internet and many people say that memory could be the problem but I have tested it with the windows memory test tool, all results have come back with no errors. I for some reason cannot Memtest to run.
I have a new custom built computer put together by someone I work with. I have been plagued with problems and I think it's hardware related. I got my friend to reinstall Windows but it crashed several times before install completed. He said he tried on my SSD and Samsung HD but still the same problems occur.Ran Memtest and passed several cycles but tried again and got errors. I removed a ram stick and it passed but got a BSOD after 30 minutes of browsing the web. Then the other stick had the same problems but passed Memtest for 20 minutes until the text on screen garbled where errors are usually listed. I reran test and it passed for a long time. I have no overclock and everything is running at correct voltage. Seems to be very random and can happen when purposely restarting my PC or doing barely anything at all.I'm starting to think it's either the RAM or motherboard causing the problems. Here are my components-
OK so I built a system and after a frustrating bout with BSODs caused by a bad mobo (replaced) i finally got it to work. However i was just browsing the interwebs and i got a bluescreen in fact ive gotten several 3 have been stop code 3b
Specs Windows 7 Ultimate AMD FX-4100 ASUS Sabertooth 990FX 8gb of ram 560 Ti 1gb
ran memtest for 12 or so passes while i was at work no issues with it did a sfc/ scannow and all that good stuff. driver scanner is turning up clean thinking this is beyond my knowledge they happen every 3-4 days and its quite irritating. all dumps as of late attached
I've recently built a a computer for my sister out of spare parts. Every couple of hours it just seams to BSOD. I'm not the most skilled pc builder as I'm only 14. At first it just freezes but then it just goes to the blue screen. I have included a BSOD Dump and my system spec is as follows;
Motherboard: ASUS M3N HT Deluxe (MEMPIPE EDITION) CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9550 @2.2GHZ (not overclocked) Chip set: nForce 780a sli spp Ram:4gb OCZ DDR2 HDD: 1x80gb sata, 1x120gb ide GPU: ATI RADEON HD 4870 1gb
I am running a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit and I have reinstalled it twice?
Got to be quick because I've already had a BSOD trying to post this. This is a new build. All new components. All kinds of error codes contantly. I've updated Bios, SSD firmware, all drivers I can find, did a clean reinstall of Windows 7, ran memtest86 twice (20 passes total) on both sticks no errors, ran chkdsk -no errors although I see one today from my bios resetting defaults to IDE instead of ACHI - my fault. Ran Driver Verifier and came up with a violation in Event Viewer but I don't know how to read it. And yes I wear ESD straps etc. when I work on it.Also no overclocking / unlocking - everything is stock / default.
I built this rig 3 weeks ago. Never had any glitches or problems. Just randomly today while web browsing I got a BSOD. I don't know how to access the BSOD files to see the cause. Can someone please help me troubleshoot, i've never dealt with this before. I don't overclock just so everyone knows. I ran prime 95 for about an hour with all passes and perfect temps.
I have installed Windows 7 x64 ultimate several times, and I still get BSD in sporadic manner just before the windows login password I tried to follow all ur instruction to provide you with the data but I failed completely to make the "perfmon" work. As I have this famous error of the report generate tool is not being able to start I tried all the tricks with user defined ones and disbaling services, still no success.Though I provided the xml files generated by the perfmon tool anyhow, I guess it has the right information but in different format? Trials I did:
1- Just after Win installation I didn't get any BSD
2- After installing all drivers and SP1, the BSD started
here is the other info needed:
Dell Inspiron N5110 Win 7 x64 bit Ultimate Retail version Brand new laptop Fresh installation of win 7
Note: in one of the BSD I got a specific file mentioned , athrx.sys but other BSD didn't have file specified?
Just reinstalled Windows on a new Samsung PM 830 SSD. Can't tell if its the SSD or the other things that I have installed. Sometimes it gives the BSOD screen, sometimes Explorer just goes missing and Task Manager would be unavailable. These days the BSODs come more often and with little warning.
I'm currently running in Safe Mode right now because I can't sit on standard boot too long before I have a random BSOD. It's completely random and very annoying, I need help as soon as I can get it. I'll be back with my minidump file shortly, in the mean time here are my specs:
For more than a year now I have reocuring blues screen of death. Here is what I did:
Checked memory sticks, I have 2*2 GB >> memory diagnostics everything is fine. Switched sticks to different slots. >> no use Reinstalled full system. >> no use
Daemon tools are uninstalled after which I experience less BSOD but still occurs. Previously ever day now every 3-4 days. Recently my previous HDD went bust, now I have a new one still issues. System checks run fine and usually when windows would load up system crashes. Usually it is ntoskrnl.exe or cdd.dll that crash or when they start loading according to blue screen viewer. Pagefault in non paged area, boot sector errors are the 2 main reasons usually. All minidum dump files and system info attached.
I was wondering if someone could help me out. I just recently installed a new copy of windows on my OCZ Vertex 3 90GB SSD. When the computer restarted to finish the setup, it gave me a BSOD for .5 second and then restarted my computer.I have it in my Bios that it's configured where it uses AHCI because for some reason IDE no longer identifies all of my SATA ports and what's plugged in them.I do not have a factory built PC. I have a Gaming Rig I've built myself. I'm simply at loss of ideas on how to fix this problem I'm having with this SSD. My stats are as follows:
I had the same problem that others have had with the new nVidia driver causing a BSOD but mine seem to be a little worse off. After uninstalling the nVidia driver the default windows drivers caused my computer to just black screen after boot. I would see the windows 7 load screen but never the login screen (just black w/ no mouse). So I decided to fresh install by formatting and installing.
After fresh install the same problem happens upon first true boot I see the black screen only. After about 10-30 seconds the BSOD will appear saying it is there due to video card driver timeout. I dont know what i should try next since I am on my 3rd fresh install with the same problem. I installed XP again and all is fine with the most up to date video driver as well.
I have built a few computers over the years and this is the first one that has had an issue that has totally stumped me. I have built it for the parents. Now as far as i can tell everything is fine with the build, but the computer is randomly BSOD,especially when running the WINDOWS VERIFIER, to catch the error (BSOD on startup).I have used a program to analyze the results of the Verifier and this is the result:
On Wed 5/23/2012 9:14:30 AM GMT your computer crashed crash dump file: C:Windowsmemory.dmp This was probably caused by the following module: ndisrd.sys (ndisrd+0x266E) Bugcheck code: 0xC4 (0x40, 0x0, 0xFFFFF9800ED66C50, 0x0) Error: DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION
Already crashed 2 times today in 30 minutes. The first time i was just browsing, the second time i was playing Skyrim. This happens randomly every day. Windows 7 x64 This is what what i got from my latest crash.
