Random BSOD's Since Fresh Build. Error 0x0000001e
Jul 25, 2012
I built a computer about a month ago and ever since the first attempt to install windows it has been giving me blue screens. The computer is working someone fine most of the time now, but still has a daily to twice a day blue screen error. I have done everything that google has said (Memtest, driver updates, HDD diagnostics, BIOS update, check registry, scan for virus, etc.)

I recently got an ASUS X54H laptop and it has windows 7 ultimate x64. I randomly get the BSOD error 0x0000001a and 0x0000001e and I've tried updating the drivers and still no luck it could be running great for a week or so and then give me the BSOD. I've attached the .zip made from the performance monitor.

I have been experiencing random reboots with my fresh Win 7 x64 build. I am suspecting either a bad ram sticks or ATI video card issue. I have attached the minidump and performance report logs.

Sabertooh 990FX
4 x 4Gb G.Skill Ripjaws 1600mhz

I started off getting the 0x0000007f BSOD and I think it was relating to my graphics card drivers so I reinstalled the drivers, now I've been getting 0x0000001e BSOD and I haven't a clue what the problem is. These seem to happen only once each day and I can't seem to find any relation to what I was doing at the time.

All of these components are less than days old, bought new and put straight into this build. Keep getting a BSOD so I guess I'll try to give as much information as I can and hopefully someone can give me a hand. It's also worth noting that it seems to occur more frequently while playing Star Wars the Old Republic but has also occurred while not doing so. Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Bought as a student upgrade edition online. The computer is mostly new. I put it together myself and it hasn't had any problems until now. I had League of Legends up in the background, and I was surfing on Firefox when my mouse cursor...changed. It looks glitchy, becoming white/multicolored lines and looking fuzzy. I know that isn't right, so I immediately restarted my computer. After a few minutes it BSOD'ed, and now I am officially worried.

I've been recently getting the BSOD when I open almost any program, when I try to open it my display stops and I get the BSOD error STOP: 0x0000001E. The latest thing I would have downloaded with suspicion would be a game torrent. I've gotten a BSOD error STOP: 0x00000050 and error STOP: 0x0000001a, but mainly error STOP: 0x0000001E. I'm thinking that my RAM is corrupted, looks like its a memory problem. I'm currently in Safe Mode with Networking. Anyways, sorry for using Winrar, I didn't have 7-ZIP installed.

I have a new custom built computer put together by someone I work with. I have been plagued with problems and I think it's hardware related. I got my friend to reinstall Windows but it crashed several times before install completed. He said he tried on my SSD and Samsung HD but still the same problems occur.Ran Memtest and passed several cycles but tried again and got errors. I removed a ram stick and it passed but got a BSOD after 30 minutes of browsing the web. Then the other stick had the same problems but passed Memtest for 20 minutes until the text on screen garbled where errors are usually listed. I reran test and it passed for a long time. I have no overclock and everything is running at correct voltage. Seems to be very random and can happen when purposely restarting my PC or doing barely anything at all.I'm starting to think it's either the RAM or motherboard causing the problems. Here are my components-
i7 2600k
Gigabyte G1.Sniper 2 Z68
8 GB G.Skill 1866 Ram
ATI 6950
OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB SSD
1TB Samsung HD
Corsair HX850W PSU
I include my last batch of crash dumps since I had Windows reinstalled.I might have to RMA something but want to narrow things down.

Motherboard: ASUS M3N HT Deluxe (MEMPIPE EDITION)
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9550 @2.2GHZ (not overclocked)
Chip set: nForce 780a sli spp
Ram:4gb OCZ DDR2
HDD: 1x80gb sata, 1x120gb ide

I am running a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit and I have reinstalled it twice?

Just reinstalled Windows on a new Samsung PM 830 SSD. Can't tell if its the SSD or the other things that I have installed. Sometimes it gives the BSOD screen, sometimes Explorer just goes missing and Task Manager would be unavailable. These days the BSODs come more often and with little warning.

I keep getting BlueScreen errors and the pc is restarting after I switched motherboards from a gigabyte p55-usb3 to a biostar t5xe cfx-sli. I kept all the same components except I added another gtx 470. Thermal paste was freshly applied all around, all the idle and load temps seem normal. 30c/50c cpu and 40c/85c gpu.
1. Installed Win 7 Prof 64 bit on freshly formatted hard drive
2. Installed Drivers from motherboard cd (Biostar T5XE CFX-SLI)
3. Ran Windows update for awhile, restarted a few times, installed other programs
4. While browsing the net the pc shutdown and gave me a prompt upon startup with a "problem event name: bluescreen"
It also gave me the locations of a dump and a system file which I have included in the Shutdown #1 file.
1. After reviewing the error and searching the web I had read that it could be a possible heat issue, which didn't make sense as the first time I was just browsing the web. Idle the CPU is 30c and the GPU (SLI) is 40c for each card.
2. I downloaded the Unigine Heaven benchmark and ran it
3. PC shutdown in the middle of the benchmark and gave me different results in the post shutdown message. Files are in the Shutdown #2 file.
I used arctic silver on the cpu and on the gpu's. Everything is connected tightly and the only other thing installed is a wireless pci card which should have no problem. I used to use the exact same components on a gigabyte board (p55-usb3). The only reason I installed the Biostar Motherboard was to install another GTX 470 and run SLI.Everything seems normal as far as temps, the pc isn't slow, etc.I just decided to turn it off to avoid any possible damage and take the files I grabbed and post on a forum. This seemed like a good place to continue.

I have had a problem with my Gateway NV73 laptop where I would get a BSOD whenever I was viewing video on the internet, viewing pictures in my photo editing program and now after about 5 minutes of just using the internet. The BSOD would come up in a square in the center of the screen and dissappear within seconds. Then the system would still show the power light as on but a blank screen and unresponsive. I would press and hold power button until shutdown and try to restart but only the fan sound was working but nothing else. And after about 30 to 40 minutes later it would boot up just fine, but would then crash after minutes of using it. I tried to get the info needed from the dump files but I literally had to do the whole process stated above many times and I saved the minidump files to my network drive so I could post this on my desktop computer.
Gateway Laptop Model NV73
AMD processor
3GB Ram
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OEM
Laptop is about 17 months old
I attached a text file with the contents of one of the minidump files.

I just purchased a new build, listed below, and cannot figure out why I am getting random hard freezes. There is no blue screen of death, just hard freeze required restart. I get about 3-5 a day.
GIGABYTE GA-H61MA-D3V LGA 1155 Intel H61 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
G.SKILL Value Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-8GBNT
Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000
Antec NEO ECO 620C 620W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
XFX AMD Radeon HD 6870 900M 1 GB DDR5 DUAL MINIDP HDMI DUAL DVI PCI-E Video Card (HD687AZHFC)
I am running low on time, as my one month for newegg returns runs out soon. I lost a week having to RMA the hard disk already, as the first one that came was DOA. I have performed furmark for 20 minutes, no failure. Memtest overnight, no failure. Seagate tools, passed test (didn't do thorough long test). Prime95 CPU small FFT for 8 hours, no problem. Prime95 CPU blend for 3 hours, no problem. I have tried reinstalling windows 7, and I have updated the BIOS.

I reformatted my computer multiple times, yet my computer seems to BSOD randomly. What happenes is that everything becomes unresponsive; cant alt+tab, cant ctrl+alt+del etc etc. everything freezes randomly... then boom, BSOD. its happened twice, with no apparent pattern. And then, when it restarts, it tries booting but then it goes into the boot selection screen and my SSD is nowhere to be found. I have to power off then power on again for it to boot up and log in.

I have built a few computers over the years and this is the first one that has had an issue that has totally stumped me. I have built it for the parents. Now as far as i can tell everything is fine with the build, but the computer is randomly BSOD,especially when running the WINDOWS VERIFIER, to catch the error (BSOD on startup).I have used a program to analyze the results of the Verifier and this is the result:
On Wed 5/23/2012 9:14:30 AM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:Windowsmemory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ndisrd.sys (ndisrd+0x266E)
Bugcheck code: 0xC4 (0x40, 0x0, 0xFFFFF9800ED66C50, 0x0)
Error: DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION

This started happening last night while i was playing Borderlands 2, it has happened at idle, playing just about any game in my library, during downloads and just browsing the web. I changed all of my accessible drivers, and it continued to happen, so i moved all of my personal files onto my external HDD. I re installed windows on my SSD (did not reformat) and reformatted my HDD. I re installed my drivers, re-enabled SLI and it ran fine for about an hour, just downloading WoW, and then happened again twice.
