Avoid UAC Prompt For Trusted Program That Launches At Startup
Nov 18, 2011
I have an app that is supposed to run at startup. It has an option in it to "Start with Windows", but Windows 7's UAC insists on prompting me every time. I tried making a new task in Task manager to run it at startup, and using "Run with hightest Priveleges", but it doesn't work. The app just doesn't start at all. I am using an admin account, and I've disabled the "Start with Windows" setting in the app itself.
i am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit on my core i3 lennovo laptop Problem is that i have been running a 2nd monitor and about a month ago the laptop screen went crazy and stopped working but the monitor kept working so i just went along with that. All has been fine but 2 days ago a tried to log in and the computer froze so i manually restarted it to find the startup repair come up, it did its thing, restarted a few times over a day and then it said that the problem could not be repaired, i tried it again and the same thing happened.I saw the infinite loop tutorial so i tried it and got to the final stages and it said that the action could bot be performed because of an i/o error.I searched around and saw that people have used chkdisk And sfc scannow. I tried these but kep geting the same messge about the i/o error.
I have worked with computers for years but this fault has me stumped.Basically every time I try to type a word in the windows search, ms office, notepad etc... a browser is launched as many times as I type.i.e. if I type help.....I get four browser windows open.I have consulted numerous techs and all say it is malware. There is one other but the name escapes me. But it found nothing also.So after much deliberation I reinstalled Win7 over the top. Still happens. Finally I have done a complete new install....and you wouldn't believe it still happens.I even deleted the old windows files and still the same.My Laptop is a Satellite P200, Core 2 Duo with 3 GB RAM.I am running 64 Bit Win 7 and have all latest updates from Microsoft.
I've had my new MSI GE620 for only about a month and half and Ive been getting random crashes, not only but frequently, after trying to launch an application which then stops responding and can't be ended even by a taskkill /f command.
Yesterday my girlfriend asked me to look at her computer because her start button wasn't working and when I checked it, I confirmed this to be true. Neither the orb, nor the windows key activates the start menu. When I click it, the highlight flashes on it for a second but then nothing actually launches.
I was browsing through my program files while working on getting Unreal Tournament to host multiplayer when I came across a folder called "DVD Maker."
I've never installed anything like it.I went to control panel, uninstall programs, and I did not find it.I tried to delete it and it says that I do not have permission to delete the folder, only "TrustedInstaller" does. I tried to give myself permissions, (I am on my administrator account) and it fails.
Using Windows 7/64 Home Premium I am having the following fault: Any web site I try to access or any program I try to load. I have tried reloading without any success as it will not let me access anything.
When I try to delete the normal way i get an error msg that says I need permission from TrustedInstaller. I get the same msg if I try to rename any of the files in this folder. I booted into safe mode and I get the same thing. I also used Revo Uninstaller and it looked like it worked, but the folder & files were still there. I also tried to delete in command prompt mode and got a "permission denied" message. I then clicked on the folder, then properties>security>edit. I got an access denied message. I also tried to delete TrustedInstaller in the list of users and got the access denied message.
I need permission from Trusted Installer to remove all the photos that this porgram scanned the hard drive for and installed. I was trying to import a single photo but this happened.
I have a seemingly simple problem, but the solution evades me. I would like a particular program to run when the computer starts. The program is TeaTimer.exe, a system protector that I've been using for years.
It seems simple to just put a shortcut to the program in the startup folder, like I've done with all my previous PCs. But this time the program will not run on startup. I have it set to run as administrator if that would make any difference.
The program runs just fine when I manually start it, there are no problems in running the program and I've checked for compatibility issues, for which there are none. it's just for some reason, Windows 7 will not run the program even with a shortcut in the startup folder... and won't tell me why.
Im running Windows 7 64bit. Im wanting a batch file that i can save on my desktop that when run as admin will start up BC2 or what ever program i put in the batch file at high priority and only on cpu cores 1,2 and 3 (2 3 and 4 on actual CPU) command prompt is at C:WindowsSystem32cmd.exe bc2 is at C:Program Files(x86)Electronic ArtsBattlefield Bad Company 2BFBC2Game.exe what is the command line i use inb a batch file to make it run bc2 on high priority and on all cores except the first.I have been trying to get it to work but it just opens cmd.exe and nothing else.I plan on have this one batch file open 4 different programs. BC2 on high and the last 3 cores.as well as teamspeak 3, itunes and fraps all told to only run on the first core. but ill get to that later. i want o get the first section working before i get to that.
i have 3 files that want me to give the administrator password for each time on a standard user account, 1 is listed in startup but the other 2 are not, i want them to run so that each user doesn't have to ask for the password to be entered, i have told it to run as administrator but that doesn't work.
I once deleted Windows 7 installation files on one of my drives using a Linux distro. Now all the files appear in a folder named ".Trash-0" and now when I try to delete the folder it says "You need permission from trusted installer to make changes to this file". I tried deleting the folders using another Linux distro but the folder is nowhere to be found when I boot using a Linux distro. I guess this is happening because Windows doesn't let you delete windows installation files even if they do not belong to the current installation. Is there a work around for this?
I tried placing one of my favorite programs in the Startup folder but every time it starts it prompts for UAC confirmation. Annoying. Is there a way to get rid of this?(without disabling UAC. at the moment I work around this by completely turning off UAC but I feel nervous about this).
I downloaded and installed my GPS software from Tomtom. It starts everytime windows starts, and there is nowhere in the preferences that dictates that startup or allows me to disable. If there a free program startup manager type program out there that anyone is using?
It is a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge with a 500 gigabyte hard drive, 4 gigs of RAM, an Intel i5 processor, and an Intel Graphics Family video card that was bought from the company's online store. A few days ago I took the laptop out and started up as usual. Once logged in and at my desktop the computer refused to run any programs or even open the start menu for 15 minutes. After things begin to respond the computer runs fine but this worries me. It still continues to do this daily. Today a message appeared at the bottom right corner of the screen saying " Windows 7 Not Genuine Error 7601" I believe. The reason I cannot be more clear on that is because that went away. Since then, I, in a total panic, did several internet searches on the problems but was only directed to either one, but never both. I would like avoid contacting a technician so I came here.
I have a few computers here that all run this program that auto launches through the startup folder. this program is suppose to launch at full screen. However, on a couple of PCs this program launches as full screen but the start menu is given focus and not the program. while other PCs with the same setup, launch the program at full screen without giving focus to the start menu.
Just wondering if there is some option that's been selected on these machines that are giving focus to the start menu instead of the program.
I have a minor technical question I would love help on. I have the UAC on and log in as a standard user for protection. There are a few programs that I would like to run automatically when windows starts that require a password EVERY time I start windows, or if I select them manually. Is there any reason certain programs due to their permissions need an admin password to run and other don't?
I could not find the difference looking in the security section of properties comparing it with a program that runs as an admin. HELP! I would like to run these programs automatically as windows boots without typing in the admin password for each program.
Recently was infected with a virus, which I removed with Kaspersky, but now all of my program folders are empty and / or missing when I hit Start -All Programs. I believe this is self-inflicted. I'm running Windows 7/64 on a Dell N7010 laptop. It has a OS (C:) drive (58.5GB) and a Local Disk (D:)drive (527GB). I originally found the "C" drive becoming full. Not being overly computer savy, I tried to move program files and any large files I could locate to the "D" drive. Everything seemed to work fine, until this virus. Now I believe the computer is reverting back to the original location of these files on the "C" drive, and I'm not sure on how to link them back to my All Programs menu.
I have a computer that is a drone specifically for an outside LED sign. This computer is designed to never shut off and doesn't have any other program on it besides Operating System and the sign software. I need to create a batch file that I can place in the "start-up" folder that will open the program (LEDStudio10) and open the file that I want to play. I have already tried multiple attempts and I was hoping someone out there in sevenforums world would be able to point me in the right direction.
Is it possible to avoid installing Java in the first place? Can I avoid Java VIRUSES by NOT installing Java in the first place? I just lost ALL my info/programs/games installed on my boot drive due to a Java Virus, I manage to identify the virus as: exdoer This is a Trojan Java Virus that turned OFF my PC at random, even on SAFE Mode. I tried every Antivirus known to mankind, nothing worked.
