View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a scheduled task that will wake my computer weekly to run a Security Essentials full scan. Apparently, the MSE scheduler does not wake the computer for scans but DOES put the computer to sleep during a scan if the sleep timer is set for less time than the scan requires (mine is).I have created a new Win 7 (64-bit) account to run the task because of apparent conflicts with doing so in the other user account. The main problem I'm having involves the "details" column of the "Actions" tab in the task properties; I don't know what to enter as the path for the MSE full scan so I can't tell Windows what program to start.

The only problem is I would like to start them minimized and I can't quite figure out how to do that. I have set the program properties to run minimized but it doesn't want to play nice. Is there anyway I can get the program to launch from task scheduler without using a bat file?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if it's possible to create or modify shortcuts that will open more than one thing. For instance I would like to open "tech overview" from my computer and it would open:
1: Control Panel
2: Manage Computer
3: System
4: Device Manager
And hopefully I would be able to add or remove things from the list to make it even more modified over time. Another example would be to open "my website" from my computer and it would open:
1: Explorer view of camera shot images
2: Explorer view of htdocs for the website
3: Explorer view of images directory
4: Explorer view of recent downloads
5: Dreamweaver
whats tthis new restriction and how can i get around it....i am on my admin account initially installed with the OS.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAdobe CS6 suite was working fine when I crashed using After Effects. I now get crashes or locking when rendering in After Effects or Premier Pro. Adobe Media Encoder won't even launch. I created a new user account they all run fine (so far). Same thing on my old machine running CS4.
1) Fixing my original user account (registry edit? some corrupt file somewhere?)
2) Transferring or recreating all my accounts, libraries, shortcuts, etc. to the new account and delete the old one. Is there an easy way to do this? Currently using Windows 7-64 (Pro)
I have a seemingly simple problem, but the solution evades me. I would like a particular program to run when the computer starts. The program is TeaTimer.exe, a system protector that I've been using for years.
It seems simple to just put a shortcut to the program in the startup folder, like I've done with all my previous PCs. But this time the program will not run on startup. I have it set to run as administrator if that would make any difference.
The program runs just fine when I manually start it, there are no problems in running the program and I've checked for compatibility issues, for which there are none. it's just for some reason, Windows 7 will not run the program even with a shortcut in the startup folder... and won't tell me why.
disable/enable windows startup program. Here are some features I'd like:
- enable/disable startup programs, whether it is in startup folder, or in registry, or started in other ways
- a history of the programs I have enabled/disabled, or a list of the changes I made that deviates from the default
- if I disable a program, and then updating some software causes it to become enabled again, this utility should detect and disable it again
- explain what each startup program does by connecting to some database online to look up the program
