I need permission from Trusted Installer to remove all the photos that this porgram scanned the hard drive for and installed. I was trying to import a single photo but this happened.
View 6 RepliesI once deleted Windows 7 installation files on one of my drives using a Linux distro. Now all the files appear in a folder named ".Trash-0" and now when I try to delete the folder it says "You need permission from trusted installer to make changes to this file". I tried deleting the folders using another Linux distro but the folder is nowhere to be found when I boot using a Linux distro. I guess this is happening because Windows doesn't let you delete windows installation files even if they do not belong to the current installation. Is there a work around for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a netbook running Win 7 Starter.I noticed when trying to change the wallpaper that I do not have permission to perform certain tasks - even with an administrator account. I got a message saying I need permission from Windows TrustedInstaller.Having googled for help on changing permissions, I tried, but the options are greyed out. If such trivial changes are blocked, then I imagine that there are other things I can't do either.Is there a way round this without upgrading (definitely would not consider) or switiching to Linux (would consider if necessary).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was browsing through my program files while working on getting Unreal Tournament to host multiplayer when I came across a folder called "DVD Maker."
I've never installed anything like it.I went to control panel, uninstall programs, and I did not find it.I tried to delete it and it says that I do not have permission to delete the folder, only "TrustedInstaller" does. I tried to give myself permissions, (I am on my administrator account) and it fails.
When I try to delete the normal way i get an error msg that says I need permission from TrustedInstaller. I get the same msg if I try to rename any of the files in this folder. I booted into safe mode and I get the same thing. I also used Revo Uninstaller and it looked like it worked, but the folder & files were still there. I also tried to delete in command prompt mode and got a "permission denied" message. I then clicked on the folder, then properties>security>edit. I got an access denied message. I also tried to delete TrustedInstaller in the list of users and got the access denied message.

I have run that reg file that gives you the take control option on the right click menu. But there is just no end to prompts telling me i can't do this or that or shouldn't etc etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem getting Media Center to display my Photos showing the individual photos contents of each folder.I am running Windows 7 HP 64 bit with all updates. My MEDIA (movies, music & photos) are on a separate hdd (M). Each of the media formats has it's own folder on the M drive, Movies, Music & Photos. I have no problem with the movies or the music. However, when I choose "pictures" in Windows Media Center only the individual photos folders are shown....no photos are shown in these folders. I see the individual folders but no contents. I have set up "Libraries" on the C: drive; Music, Video & Photos. When I click on photos in the "Libraries" all the photos folders are show each with it's own photos. I have "Shared" these libraries as well as each folder on the Media drive M. The format of the individual photos is jpg. I have run SFC/Scannow.

View 3 Replies View RelatedA wire came loose in my laptop charger so I asked for a replacement, but the supplier was adamant that there was something wrong with the port in my laptop, not the charger (he was wrong), so they took it away to fix. Anyway, a member of their staff took my hard drive out to copy a couple of my files to a disk for me as I needed them asap and couldn't get my laptop charging. Apparently that's all they did.Today I got my laptop back and things are not right. I am the administrator and there are no other user accounts on my computer. I am recognised as the administrator when I go on Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsUser Accounts. But now all of a sudden I can't access Music, Pictures, Videos or Documents from the start menu. It just does nothing and says nothing when I click on them. I went on 'Computer' and tried to access them from the 'Libraries' menu at the left side. It didn't let me and didn't come up with any error message. It also didn't let me see the properties of them or do any of the other right-click options. It was saying at the bottom that they were completely empty, so I just deleted them and thought I'd make new ones with the 'Create Library' option. But when I go on this it says "Unable to create the file 'New Library.library-ms' Access is denied". I tried to restore the four Libraries from my recycle bin. It came up with a message saying "You'll need to provide administrator permission to move this folder". I clicked on continue, then a box popped up saying "Destination Folder Access Denied. You need permission to perform this action". Permission off who?! It's MY computer!
When I located my files the long way (Computer - Windows (C:) - Users ... etc.), all my documents were read-only and had a padlock on their icons, so I changed that. It won't let me view my pictures (says I don't have the correct permissions to access the file location). I can copy and paste the pictures so that it will let me view the copies, but it says things like "You'll need to provide administrator permission to copy this file" for everything I try to do. It gives me the option to continue, but it's annoying me because I have to keep giving permission for things that it should just let me do.
I have 2 programs on two seperate computers where UAC comes up and asks me if I wish to run the programs. These programs do not require administrator rights (Truecrypt and iSpy) and the check beside "Run program as administrator" is not checked in either the shortcut or the actual executable file.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an app that is supposed to run at startup. It has an option in it to "Start with Windows", but Windows 7's UAC insists on prompting me every time. I tried making a new task in Task manager to run it at startup, and using "Run with hightest Priveleges", but it doesn't work. The app just doesn't start at all. I am using an admin account, and I've disabled the "Start with Windows" setting in the app itself.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi am trying to create a new site in dreamweaver. the site will have a coldfusion extension (.cfm). i am the only user on my notebook so i have complete administrator privileges. however, when i try to save the site in the c:inetpubwwwroot folder (because that's where coldfusion applications are saved) i always get an error.the error says: "you don't have permission to save to this location. contact the administrator to obtain permission" i thought i was the administrator? i am unable to change the settings in the security tab in the properties panel either. that is the extent of my troubleshooting capabilities.

After doing so, I cut/pasted my photos folder into my new user directory (or whatever, I'm not very techie..). I have thousands of photos, my BF is a photographer, and I can view most of them. However, in one particular folder 90% of them aren't viewable! Says I don't have permission... When I log back into parents windows, I can see the photos in my directory (as they are no longer located in theirs) but there are little gold padlocks on the ones I cannot see on my log-in. I've tried changing permissions, ownership, you name it.. I've looked for help on line and tried everything. The only thing that seems to work is if I right click on each individual photo and change things that way.

a family member has recently asked for my help in finding some photos they have lost. Basically, what happened was; they attatched their mobile Phone via USB, then opened up the photos from the phones storage in windows explorer, then cut them, and got sidetracked into some other work, and whilst in a rush they shut down the laptop without pasting the photos anywhere, they cannot find the photos on the laptop or the phone's Internal storage, I will pay a visit soon as the pictures are important as they are of their 11 week old daughter, I will have a deeper search, but does anyone have any suggestions for me to try?

The literature indicates that it will play DVD +R that has been finalized. I tried using the Windows DVD Maker and adjusted the speed to medium. and I also tried using the media center. The DVDs are not recognized on the Player. I did select the finish button while burning but what else am i supposed to do to close the dvd? the dvd burner is a blu ray and while it is capable of lightscribe i bought single layer dvds.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 2,600+ photos of my nephew in one folder and I am making a collage where those photos will serve as the background image that makes up one large image.The issue I am having is, when I automate the process (contact sheet) in Photoshop, it pulls the photos one at a time in the order that they are in the folder.This causes issues because similar images have similar background properties (skyline, lighting etc...) which cause the collage background to look like it has lines in it. Bottom line, how can you quickly randomize files in a folder...without doing it manually (2,600+ files).
