Arranging Picture/item Manually?
Apr 23, 2011Normally when i drag a picture or item over another, it will replace or take over its place, but when i use window 7, i can no longer do this. What is wrong actually?

Oct 28, 2010I just loaded Windows 7, now I can NO LONGER arrange my photos within a folder, arrange my folders within "Pictures" etc. Always could do this before, what happened? Also, I can find NO way of allowing me to put say a photo anywhere I wish, except on my desktop-which still works fine. If I try to take a photo out of sequence it just does not let me move it to another place, UNLESS I am putting it into a folder!

Jul 21, 2012The other day I was browsing a website and Norton Internet Security pops up saying that a Trojan has been blocked (I don't have a screenshot of it, but that's pretty much all it said). So I exited the website and told Norton to do a full system scan later that night and fell asleep. When I woke up, all it found were some tracking cookies, which it deleted. However, I now had a problem on my computer: all files in every folder will auto arrange themselves every time the folder is opened or refreshed. The same happens on the desktop. Auto arrange is not checked.
Inside folders, the default setting is always "View > Details" and "Sort by > Name > Ascending." The icons on the desktop are still medium, but they are arranged in an odd order, it seems to be alphabetical but in an odd way. I had all my desktop icons arranged in a specific way, so now it's hard to try and find programs that I need. It's also extremely difficult to find any files because of this setup too. To clarify, here's an example of what happens: I arrange the icons the way I want (here being by "Date Modified"), but... If the folder is refreshed or reopened, computer is restarted, etc, then the folder resets to this default.

My problem is if I leave my computer and it goes to 'sleep', very often the desk top icons rearrange themselves and the display goes to a duplicate (ie both screens displaying the same thing). I can reset it by gouing to control panel/adjust screen resoution, and clicking 'detect'. It also does this sometimes when I shut down the machine and re-start.

An Item From A Mouse Click Remains On Screen
Jan 13, 2012A menu item from a context menu frequently remains displayed after a mouse click. For instance I have a display that has the word 'Delete' on it. This display is on top of anything I type or try to read. That is why I had to put a carriage return after display above as I was unable to move anything so that the I could see what I was doing. The only way I have found to get rids of it is to reboot. Doesn't matter what program I am in. It happens when I click on a context menu item.

I copied them to the Windows 7 Pro Startup and one of them does not run. I can double click the Shortcut manually and it launches fine, just not during the Boot up.The program is SpeedFan (SF). I have tried using various options in the Compatibility Tab for SF and I have UAC set to Off for Admin boots. Nothing allows SF to launch during the Boot up.

Jan 15, 2012My computer has somehow change when running Windows Explorer. I used to be able to open Folders by Double-clicking on them. Now I get and error window that reads; "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action."
In order to open a folder, I have to Right-click on it and select the "Open" option instead of the default "Explore" option.
how to change the default back to the "Open" option?
