Locker Icon On Pasted Item?
Sep 26, 2010I've dowloaded a file from Internet in the default folder. When I Cut and Paste the file in the folder I need, the icon of the file shows a locker. What does this means? How can I prevent this?

File Icon On Desktop Cannot Be Deleted - Item Not Found
Mar 9, 2012I tried to download a PDF but something went wrong during the download and I ended up with a file icon on my desktop without any extension and having 0 bytes. When I try and delete this file icon I get the error message: "Could not find item. This is no longer located in C:UsersMynameDesktop. Verify the item's location and try again". This seems like a contradiction - Windows is showing a file icon on the desktop but then says there is no file there! I have tried searching for a file by that name elsewhere and there is nothing. I have also tried cleaning the reg and doing a disk cleanup. How to delete this useless file icon from my desktop?

May 13, 2011I send in cricket match reports to our local paper. Last season I had an XP machine and I used to copy and paste the scoresheets from our website into Word. Here's a typical scoresheetI used to copy the scoresheet and paste it into Word, edit it and send it off as part of the report. The newspaper could also copy and paste it at their end. Fine.Now I have a Win 7 machine and, I may be incorrectly blaming this on the OS, I can copy the scoresheet into Word but I get an uneditable block, looking only vaguely like the scoresheet I copied.I imagine that there is just some "tick" I haven't put in a box somewhere but it would make a massive difference if I could find that box.

Apr 6, 2012All of the sudden, when I want to copy and paste something in the same document, the formatted text (whether that be a certain font or bold) does not transfer over to the pasted text. For instance, if I wanted to copy the following bolded word word and then paste it anywhere else in the document, I now get this: word (without the bold). This applies to other cutting and pasting problems: this applies to other fonts and formatting (bold, my Greek font, etc).One more example: before today, if I wanted to cut a text out of my New Testament Greek program right in the middle of a paragraph, the Greek font (or whatever font) would paste normally no matter what font the target MS Word text was in.

Sep 28, 2011My setup: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on ThinkPad T510. 1HD, two partitions (C and D).I just reinstalled my system and encrypted C; however, there is absolutely no option to encrypt D. I've tried accessing the drive from admin account and still nothing. When I open BitLocker management, it only lists partition C and not D.Here is some additional information that might or might not matter: I tried to restore my Windows 7 from an Acronis image and it was unsuccessful. Tried it twice and during booting POST showed two different W7s installed, which was incorrect. When I finally installed Windows 7 from scratch, the extra W7s were still appearing before startup and I had to use EasyBCD to remove them. Now when I am trying to backup partition C, Acronis says that my System Reserved Partition (SRP) is on partition D. My hunch is that Acronis messed up my drive D when I was trying to restore my C partition. Then when I did a fresh Windows 7 install, the SRP incorrectly ended up in D and since SRP cannot be encrypted, that means that my entire drive D can�t be encrypted either. I am dreading about going through formatting my 750GB HD and installing Windows 7 and encrypting it yet again. I read somewhere that you can use software like Acronis Disk Manager to move the SRP to drive C, but I am not sure how this will work because when I open the native winodws Disk Management, I don�t see SRP there.
