I just upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) to Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). When I drag a windows to the left corner, it snaps. However, it doesn't work on the right-hand corner of my screen. When I try I just drag the window and mouse entirely off the visible portion of the screen.
I have a nVidia 9800 GTX as a GPU and a quad core CPU. Four gigs of RAM on top of that.
How can I resolve this issue? I often need to review side-by-side documents for school or read one document and type in another and it would be helpful to use this feature to its full potential.
No, I don't want to drag it manually. I'm lazy, get over it.
Just connected my lap top via an hdmi lead to a tv in northern spain, right clicked, selected tv as monitor, hit returm, TV doesnt work and screen does not work and now when I reboot pc windows logo comes up, I can hear logon, but screen remains blank.
Ok, this is probably a dumb question but I want to find it and I'm having a hard time doing it.I had a image on my pc and I hit Prt Scr button, so I could save it to paint. I had to leave the pc and do something and when I realized I had done a bunch of other stuff on my PC, I realized that I had lost the image. (This was a month ago)I know there must be somewhere maybe on a clipboard where I may be able to find this image??
My linkMy screen goes black after 5-10 minutes of being idle. sometimes when I return, and especially if it's been a long while (an hour or more), my computer runs slowly and/or I've lost my internet connection. I then restart and all is okay again. any know how to fix this? This is a netbook running Windows 7.
I have a laptop har drive that has been in a HP Pavillion Limited edition, a Dell Vostro 1500, and a Gateway tower. For all three, it shows my custom boot screen. For this Dell Latitude 2110 that I bough, it only shows a progress bar, not the animation
My screen saver is not functioning. I get a black screen saying "Windows could not start this screen saver".
When I try to adjust the settings it says "no preview available". I have changed no settings to make this occur.
I am using the original screen saver that came with the OS and attempting to use 'Bubbles". I have had this PC for 2 years and have been using Google Chrome for the last 2 months.
Just bought the Samsung All in One PC and the Touch Screen stopped working:[URL]This is new territory for me although I know my way around Windows.how to get the Touch Screen back on?
I just moved to a new apartment. I packed the Computer in a padded box and transported it in my car. I finally set my desktop up and I now have the dreaded black screen. No beeps, all fans, lights, hd lights are running. I swapped my ram first and still persistent. I reinstalled my video card same thing.
I have a duel boot desk top computer. Windows Xp x 32 and Windows 7 x 64. I modified my server load screen and wanted to check it so I hit the print screen key and pasted it to paint and all I get is a back screen instead of the load screen image. Then I took a image of my desk top and the image is fine. Did the same thing on windows xp and everything is fine, the load screen image and the desk are image are coming out just the way there suppose to. Is there a setting that I'm missing on windows 7 that could be causing my problem.
my mate just stood on his laptop, He stood right on the keyboard. It still powers on and sounds like the hard drive is working but the screen is dead. What my have broken to cut the screen?
my usb ports (mouse and keyboard) stopped working after it gets to windows welcome screen. It worked prior to that (I could get in to the bios and use the keyboard there) and I can even get to the windows repair mode and have my usb mouse and keyboard working. But booting it normally (or even safe mode) will disable keyboard and mouse (and all usb ports i believe) at the login screen. I don't have a PS/2 port so I don't have any alternative way to type in my pwd at the login screen. I would like to try the solution posted above, since I can get to the repair mode, open command prompt and run regedit, but just unsure since I didn't see any response from the user on that post whether it worked or not.
I have been using for a while a Toshiba Satellite c650 laptop. It has been used only to listen to music and to check e-mail via Internet Explorer. Recently, after a short camping trip where rain was abundant, the screen stopped functioning. The computer was working, we could hear the music playing. After shutting it down, turning it back on would make the screen work for anything from a few seconds to a few minutes. The screen then remained pitch black, whatever we did. I finally had the idea to plug in my 27-inch external monitor. The results weren't as good as I expected. The external screen works fine, but the resolution cannot be set higher than 1366x768, instead of the usual 1600x900 on the laptop. Also, when connected to my Alienware laptop, the external monitor can go up to 1980x1080.As if this wasn't enough, when playing music, the speakers would suddenly let out a very loud buzzing noise for a few seconds. We have tried to pinpoint the cause, but it happens whenever it seems to want to.
Is there anything we can do about the screen? (without sending it to be repaired, of course) I guess there's a problem in the hardware, because the external screen works. There might also be a problem with the video card, because of the weird maximal resolution..
I'll try to explain as best I can. I have a custom built pc, running Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, 8 GB RAM, Intel LGA 775 motherboard, Intel Xeon 2.4 Quad processor, 550 watt power supply and nvidia GeForce 9800 GT graphics card. I do audio recording, and use an external audio interface (novation x-station 49). My computer has ran flawlessly for the past year or so, now my 2 (22" Samsung) monitors go black after a few minutes. It started out once or twice a day, now it only takes about 5 minutes.
My first thought was the video card (because both monitors go black) which I'm still in the 5 year warrantee period, so I can get it replaced. Everything is normal, then I get a second of messed up screens, then it goes black. When the screens are messed up, they look like the one referring to bad video card ram in this link... I recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7. Now my nVidia Graphics Card does not seem to be recognized and my screen resolution is stuck at 1024 x 768 and doesn't even fill all of the screen. Also, games that I used to play online I can't hardly see at all. I have tried the Sony Support site and the nVidia site to download drivers and anything else I can find to no avail. I also noticed another thread on this but couldn't find a solution that worked for me. Anyone?
Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-SZ230P
T2400 1.83GHz
2 GB RAM
32 Bit Windows 7 Home Premium
nVidia GEForce ( I believe it's GO 7400 but I can't find that info anymore since the upgrade...)
It seems like the screen only works if I turn it on exactly at the same time as I turn on the computer. So i need to push both the screen power button and the computer power button at the same time.I am not sure, it just seems to work when I do it. What can cause this weird problem?
I never get a blue screen, the computer never just restarts, the mouse just seems to stop moving, and this has been happening since I got my computer about 3 months ago. Whenever this happens all I can do is turn the power off and restart. Going through my event logs the only common occurrence is that right before I am turning off my computer I get "Filter Manager - Event ID - 6". This is not recorded as an error, but happens right before "Kernel Power - Event ID - 41" which I believe is when I push the power button to restart.
I'm using Dell Inspiron 1440 Laptop for the past 1.5yrs. I bought with windows xp & converted to windows 7 professional. But now I'm getting display problem like screen colour changes to blue & return to its original during working. I have tried all updates but still the problem pending .
My dual screen has suddenly stopped working on my laptop. Now when I hit 'detect' my laptop screen goes black and I have to force restart the machine and disconnect the second laptop. Is this likely to be a hardware fault?
So I have a little problem with my mouse and keyboard. It stops working at the login screen. The same thing happens when I try to log on safe mode, etc.
im connecting my pc with avi to the tv and my screen positioning is not working with my nvidia control panel.. im hooked up in the nvidia geforce 9800.. checked for tv driver updates and graphics card update all good.
Whenever I start my computer and it gets to the Windows 7 login screen, my mouse and keyboard won't respondThey work in BIOS but once Windows 7 starts to boot up...nothing!My PC doesn't have any PS/2 ports on it, only USB so I can't even access my Desktop to see if the driver are enabled or if the Power Management options are right.I can't do a "Last Known System Configuration" because F8 won't work.[CODE]
my screen goes all black for a couple of seconds then when it returns the open tabs/sites are kinda inactive for another couple of seconds, or when i click on another window, it is highlighted but the content is of another site/tab. when this happens, there is usually a message at the bottom left of the screen that "Display driver has stopped working and recovered problems"
I have this Samsung Notebook and after using it for certain time, the PC crashed giving DOS sounds. When I started the PC again, I was at the boot screen asking me to choose the OS. Although my keyboard didn't worked. Now my PC is somewhat a brick. How can I solve this issue? What's the best way to restart the keyboard?
Everytime I boot up the keyboard works for me to go to BIOS or Boot menu but once I get to the login page it stops working. I noticed that people are saying disable device signature enforcement or something but I can't find that in my BIOS. I have an Asus motherboard model - M4A88t -V
I'm using Alienware desktop with ATI Radeon 5900 graphic Card I have problem though whenever I play World of Warcraft game not always but a lot of times I get a blue screen error but before the blue screen error I get disconnected from the game then It tells me that my display adapter stopped working somehow..I don't know why then the blue screen of death appears and my pc get restarted I have this problem for 3 months now
I recently got my laptop screen replaced. Although the integrated webcam is connected as the light comes on and there is an image, it is not clearAs soon as I realised the webcam was not working I took it back to the repair shop and they checked the connections and said everything is fine. The tech support of the company that sold me the screen said to reinstall the screen as maybe the wires are not connected properly. However, the repair shop guy said everything is connected and the webcam itself is connected. He said they can reinstall the screen but if there is nothing wrong on their part (i.e. they have connected it properly) I will have to pay.The repair shop guy said he thinks that the webcam captor got damaged when I broke the screen (sorry if captor is the wrong word, I am currently abroad and the repair shop guy speaks French).Do you have any advice? I do not want to get it reinstalled only to find everything is connected and have to pay again
I recently built a computer (specs below) and have had few problems until recently. About once a day, the system will go to the Blue screen and restart. Upon restart, it says that the Video Card stopped working properly. Obviously I'd think it's that but don't know where to start.

I was working on an email Saturday when my Sony Vaio stopped working & flipped over to the black & white Vaio screen. Since then, I've been able to reboot it once, but it flips right back over to the Vaio screen. At one point, I was able to get to the Advanced Boot Options menu by hitting F8. I tried to restore to the last known good configuration. It got to the Windows logo screen, then went back to the Vaio screen, then went to the "Operating System could not be found" screen. The computer has a One Touch Web Access Without Booting Up feature.
I had to do a "Windows repair" boot on a Windows 7 X-86 Windows 7 Pro machine. Now when I boot it up I get the boring "Vista" like blank screen with the Microsoft Bar instead of the nice "Windows 7 Windows starting " with the spinning Windows 7 cube.
