I'm having an issue setting up a Mail Enabled Public Folder. I have the folder created, and anonymous are given proper access to allow incoming messages. My Exchange version is 2010 SP1, full updated, running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 box. Whenever I send a message to the mailbox's address, I get an undeliverable:(url)...#554 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception:ObjectNotFoundException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message The Active Directory user wasn't found. ObjectNotFoundException: The Active Directory user wasn't found. ##
I know the e-mail address is typed in correctly, but I can't seem to figure out why messages aren't going through. I searched online and found some suggestions, all of which either didn't pertain to our environment, or involved patches...which I have installed.

This PC is attached to a network containing several desktops and laptops running Vista. The Samsung laser printer ML-2240 is attachde by USB to this XP PC. Printing over the network operates perfectly with all other PCs. I have just purchased an Acer laptop with Windows 7 and followed the instructions for file sharing, which works perfectly. I have followed the instructions for installing the printer, and received confirmation that it is installed. However, when I attempt to print out of Word 2007 and press the button "find printer" in the Samsung printer profile I get the message "Active Directory Main Services is currently unavailable". I see that this has been found over the years by many people! I am looking for a solution in my context. The rest of the network operates fine still and I can edit the same Word file over the network and print fine.
I have installed active directory with Server 2003.I have created backup of active directory since a computer (XP) being on the domain. How to restore the backup to AD, since the computer (Xp)?
My HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One printer is no longer printing unless I print a test page from within the HP software. I get the following message "The Active Directory Domain Service is currently unavailable" I have completely uninstalled the printer, downloaded new HP software and reinstalled the printer. I am able to scan to my PC. My other printer is fine.
Fixing my elderly father's Windows 7/64 desktop. Attempting to print form MS Word to an HP3390 does not give any errors but does not print, either. Attempting to "find printer" from MS Word gives "The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable." I went to services.msc to turn on that service but it does not appear in the list. Driver for the printer is already included in Windows 7, according to the HP support site. Printer is USB connected directly to the computer.
BTW Computer is running MW Word 2003 if that makes any difference.
My assignment is to develop a batch file that our logon script can call on to satisfy the following condition:
If the User Information for Office 2010(HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftOfficeCommonUserInfo) equals the local admin default "UserInfo" then
go to ldap/active directory and, using the client's "logon name", find the client in ldap and use their "Display Name" as the value for the String "UserName" in HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftOfficeCommonUserInfo I found this bit of code to get me started... but this code doesn't "call out to active directory"
I have encounter a problem where my "Active directory users and computer" function suddenly unable to connect to my remote server. I have run a nslookup and below are the reply
I confirm it is not the next work issue because in the same network there is few more PC running windows 7 and XP, they don't have the problem as I mention. I also have a virtual XP running in the notebook that I am using, So I try to install the adminpak and run the Active directory users and computer and what a surprise it work. I have try to reformat the notebook and the problem still occur after I use it...
I tired of reformatting. Update on the troubleshooting of the problem I am encountering, I find out that the windows 7 that I am running is not able to resolve any PC name on my network. I am mentioning this because went I am using the virtual machine install in the notebook (Win XP) to remote desktop to other PC using the desktop name it is working fine.
I m having problem accessing a specific software while log in to my PC under Active Directory domain user. This software works file while work as administrator but show run time error 75 , path/file access error.
I have a large picture library and a large music library that are on my HDD C drive. Since I can't get the relocate function to work I plan to move them to a different HDD and them connect them back to the public libraries so they can be shared with the 3 users. Is this feasible?
I am using the method suggested in the Windows 7 Inside and Out book to relocate my user files. All seemed to be fine until I attempt to relocate the 'public music, public pictures, and others' files. The 'location' tab of properties of each public folder will not allow/accept changes to the files address.
Is there something different about the 'public' I need to be aware of?
Since xp the same ol' same ol'. Why after trouble shooting and getting access to my network folders does windows ALWAYS revert back to inaccessibility? You get it working for a short time and then it goes back to not being able to transfer simple files. This has been driving me nuts for years.
Two os's Windows 7 64 to and from 32bit could transfer files for about a week.
I have a solid state drive with limited capacity so I would like Public folders to be on another hard drive. I'm able to change the location of the regular My Documents, My Pictures, etc. to the other drive but not the Public folders. Its curious because when I open up the properties for these Public folders it shows the existing location and there is a note saying you can change the location ..., but there is not a move button nor can you change what is listed in the location text box. So how do you change the location?
Public folders are available on original administrator account. Not other accounts (standard or administrator) Originally this was vista oem. Got win7 pro update from university. Installed, activated, verified, got windows updates including SP1. Have done the drive c: - properties - tools - check now - yes - restart and they are still missing.
Using Win 7. Windows Explorer. I navigate down to a catch- all folder which has many folders with files, subfolders with files, and subsubfolders etc.. How can I dump the entire tree of this large folder into a text file so I see the entire tree?
One directory (Directory A) containing the same files as Directory B but with the wrong Date created / modified attributes.how to make all the files in Directory A have the same date created/modified attributes as Directory B.
I have two network cards in my PC. One of them connects to the internet while the other connects to my home network.
The issue is enabling public folders for the home network in "Network and Sharing Center" enables public folders for the public network also. In other words Windows grants permission to people on the internet to access my c:usersPublic folder.
Disabling public folders under public network settings disables public folders for the home network also, preventing people on my local area network from accessing my PC.

I have a 10 files that have all been categorised into about 40 folders. These files have been damaged.I have a backup of all these files, but they are not categorised and sit in a single directory.Does anyone know of an easy technique to batch replace the damaged files with the originals?
Anyways I use YAHOO MAIL PLUS.. And I have all of my email stored under the YAHOO ACCOUNT TITLE .. But Ive noticed it doesnt BACK UP all of the emails... When importing its just a blank folders.....what's going on? I do NOT see a space that says STORAGE... So where does the folders Truly belong?
Also is there a limit of how much mail WLM can hold? I thunderbird ( which I hate ) only has folder sizes up to 2 gigs..
I have upgraded from XP to Windows 7 and imported from Outlook Express to Windows Mail. Now I have the Windows Mail folders structure mirroring the folder structure of Outlook Express, so far so good. But I have also a folder called Imported Folder which has the entire folder structure in it.
I can't simply delete that folder as I realized the duplication only later and saved e-mails into both folder structures. Not only that but also my old sent messages have not been properly transfered and my old messages are still in the old folder. What can I do to fix this mess??
I have Windows Live Mail on Windows 7.I can open it and receive emails with no problem but I cannot reply, forward or compose a new email. The screen remains on the opened email. However, when I close the application, I get new screens popping up with whatever command I used whilst in the programme.I have also tried using the control keys (with N or R) to get it to work but that doesn't happen either.
On my employers computer last night his storage folders began to randomly delete themselves from his windows live mail every time he shut to program down. Over the course of shutting down and reopening the program 4-5 times a total of nearly 60GB's of email was deleted from his Windows Live mail. I used a data recover program to scan the hard drive and recover the deleted items. The inbox and sent folder remains untouched and and new folders created at the same root level as sent and inbox appear to be unaffected as well. Some of the recovered email is corrupted and is just gibberish and random text strings and symbols. Have no idea what it causing this and not sure if a reinstall of the Live mail client would correct this issue. The system is a Windows 7 32-bit, IE 9.0, all adobe items up to date, java up to date, mcafee antivirus, and windows fully up to date prior to this starting last night.
I keep losing most of my folders in windows live mail - sometimes they return but the management of them is a complete mystery e.g what purpose do the arrow heads on the left of the screen perform
I have been using my laptop for over 1 year and I have not changed anything recently. My problem is that when I go into my email program all the folders are empty. This has happened twice within the last 2 weeks. They were not empty when I closed the program. They were no where near full. My server is BTinternet. I do not leave messages on the server. I am using windows live mail. I also use Mailwasher, but have done so since I started the account.
I've done well setting up a new computer with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail and transferring everything from my Windows XP computer with Windows Live Mail.I run a small business and desperately want to keep everything in my Storage Folder with many client sub-folders on my XP computer.I have read and read and read for 2 days how to export/import these messages but nothing is workingI can easily find the file with all my folders in it on the XP but there is nothing within the folders. The messages do exist as they are still there on the Windows Live Mail screen. When I export and try to import on Windows 7 it says the file is empty which of course it is.
This seems to be hard going. I understand it may be possible to do this if I uninstall/reinstall the program but that seems like overkill. Also I imagine if I go into the programs folders on the C-drive I should be able to pick them outut why can't I seem to do this easily from within the program?
Would very much like to have folders like in Outlook Express. I would like to hit the "To:" button and select a folder and pick and choose recipients and then tap another folder and select from it. I need to have my contacts segregated in to groupings like above. As is when I drag and drop into a "catagory" and hit the "To:" button I get everybody in that category.
