I ran the System diagnostic and it seems I have a service that is "abnormally terminating service" It lists it as "UNKOWN" . I checked Services in Administrative Tools and see no errors that I know of anyway. Has anyone else encounter this? I have attached a snapshot of my system diagnostic results..
View 4 Repliesi downloaded a trial progran and deleted it, then i had problems with windows, booted eventually after 6 minutes but no internet and i get this error message, windows cannot connect to systen event services,log in as admin and check what services fail to load, but it wont even do that. my system restore has also been disabled etc. i tried a repair but no joy, so i tried an upgrade but, because the installed version on the PC is newer than the CD version it wont do the upgrade. i am trying to avoid a clean install. how can i get past the "you have a newer version of windows" and do the upgrade,

A few days ago one of them (haven't narrowed it down to which one) make a loud beep sound and then revs itself up really fast. They both seem to be working fine, but they have never really made any noises until now and I'm worried about the health of the drive. It's one of my storage drives.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to sort out issues with my Windows 7 machine and want to disable/set to manual services that I know are not needed, but every time I have done this in the past (a while ago now) I invariably run into an issue where I've inadvertently disabled a service that was needed by something, and I end up scratching my head (as all of my hair falls out around this point) and enabling everything just to sort it..
Is there any utility that anyone is aware of that lets you toggle service status, with the option to reset to default or reset to last status, while showing a list of services that I've changed?
I can't seem to word it properly for a search engine to find relevant results, and find usually specific services and not something I'm hoping exists.
I wish the Services.msc mmc had a checkbox or some sort of flag to show altered services so you could sort them by that, which would help a lot, but it doesn't.
I had a nasty virus a while ago (I think I managed to get it all cleaned out) but it played hell with my updates, and recently I think I discovered why.[URL]In other words, I receive an error whenever I try to use Updates and BITS is not present in my services list.

Dell Community suggested going to the folder, double clk the DSUpdate.exe and follow the prompts to update, but I get the above error when doing so. Another option was to create recovery media to work around the problem, but I did that upon initial set up of the pc.
I had the brilliant idea to delete the manufacturer's recovery partition on my ASUS Win 7 64-bit laptop, and reclaim that space for my C drive, and now my system is unbootable. I get the error message "autochk program not found" then stop: c000021a Fatal System Error. I have run System Recovery several times to no avail. I tried to do a repair using the Win 7 DVD, but that didn't work either.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi recently got a computer from my aunt, and decided to put windows 7 on it. Before I installed it, I put in a Geforce 8800 graphics card and a (2nd) cd rom drive. After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. Now, however, i keep on getting periodic blue screens with the following error messages : Memory Management, and PFN_List Corrupt. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said that the memory is fine. What is wrong with my computer? I also ran a system repair thing from the windows 7 disk, and it came up with this error: System File Integrity Check and Repair Error Code 0X490

when i click format a 150 gb partition space in disk management option i recieved the following message "An unexpected error has occurred. Check the System Event Log for more information on the error. Close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer". and the drive does not appear like other drives in MY Computer?

All goes well, it installs everything, but as it finished I get this error: I have tried redownloading, using other installers and updating my graphics drivers. Nothing will work. I have my HP Laptop which came with Windows Vista as the OS. I want to upgrade to Windows 7 so I bought Windows 7 from my local store.I entered the disc and did boot from CD. It reached to the page where it shows the disk partition. I deleted the partitions and created new one. However, whenever I create the partition, it creates a primary one and gives me error saying Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition.

After the Acer manufacture screen, just the blank black screen with the blinking line.I have tried everything, cant seem to figure out how to even get it to open in safe mode. Only thing I can think of would be to use the restore disk which I dont have. Is there a way to legally make a restore disk on another PC to be used on the broken laptop?
