View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm having issues with my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit PC. Every so often it will just BSOD on me. I've had a look at the errors and it mentions MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and ntoskrnl.exe, but i don't really know what i'm doing so i figured i'd get some REAL help. I've recently installed new graphic drivers, hoping that might help but it just crashed on me again.Windows was pre installed on the machine and the machine itself is only a year old.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWell this is my first post on the forum & immedially it is a blue screen post. Not entirely unexplainable since I was able to reproduce it and solve it!
Issue: Bluescreen when accessing redirected "my documents" folder.
Involved machines:
Windows 2008 server environment. The fileserver runs on a perc 5/i in RAID 5. The disc is configured as GPT as it is larger then 2 TB. Folder redirection is configured by a GPO towards the fileserver. Domain is running on windows 2008 functional level.
Test PC running Windows 7.
Cause & solution:
Well, basicly I could reproduce the bluescreen occuring each time I worked with files. I configured the initial rights on the fileserver according to this guide: How To Configure Folder Redirection (I keep forgetting what rights are needed "DUH")
What did happen to cause this issue? Well, I wanted to place data in the redirected folders to play around with. As I was currently working on the FS at that time I wanted to do it directly. Access was denied on the "my documents" of the test folder. So I took ownership... Apperantly the folders created by "folder redirection" differ quite a bit from 2003. I lost all rights on the folder. No biggie I figured, I just add the user to the ACL with full rights.
This is the moment I started to get the bluescreens on the Windows 7 test machine. And after a while it dawned upon me that the change of rights must have been the cause of it!
I disabled redirection of the my docs in the GPO, made sure the client machine was logged off, renamed the folder by adding .old, enabled the redirection again and logged in on the client machine.
I understand that taking ownership of the folder f*cked up the rights & windows needs these rights to work properly. It just seems that getting a bluescreen is a bit over the top.
I have been experiencing very frequent BSOD recently for about the past month or two, increasing in frequency over the past week or so.
It seems to occur mostly during the times that I play games like tf2 on steam, but it has occurred simply during times when I was using steam or closing it.I have installed a program called Blue-Screen View so I have all the information for my crashes, the BSOD that seems to occur the most (7 out of 15 times) is Memory Management.

i've been using windows 7 for couple of months and it's been great. however, I have one problem. as long as my wireless switch on the laptop (sony vaio vgn-fe890) is turned off, everything works just fine. but when i use wireless connection Windows 7 crashes giving me the blue screen every 15min or so. Could anyone help me out with this?
View 9 Replies View Relatedstill having these problems, but went ahead and did a more thorough job of documenting the errors. have had 2 in the last 12hrs. this is simply unacceptable. have a crappy laptop that is like 3 years older than this, (my gaming machine) that is trouble free.

ps. this system is under a year old. willing to do a fresh install, but would prefer not to.
The PC kept on displaying the BSOD, I had to manually restart. I have attached info.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days now, I have been receiving blue screens (my computer would have restarted by the time I wake up).each time, the caused of the error reports has been "ntoskrnl.exe".

note: When the computer goes into power-saving mode, wake it up again after 15 seconds.
It comes up every 1 or 2 days. My OS is windows 7 64 Pro
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently put together a new computer and installed Windows 7 on it. Everything seems to work fine, except when I resume using the computer after it goes to sleep, I get a BSOD. When I wake the computer up, it shows me the log-in screen, but when I click on my user profile to log in a blue screen appears. Also, it only seems to happen when the computer enters sleep mode on its own. If I put it into sleep mode, it wakes up with no problems.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is crashing quite frequently and has been happening several times a day for a few months now. After doing a virus check and removing programs and updating drivers, it did not solve the problem, so I decided to back up all my files and reinstall windows hoping that it would resolve the problem, but it hasn't.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a WD 320Gb 3.5inch hard drive that was originally bought as an external drive in an enclosure. A few months ago, while booting, my computer would go through blue screens one after another if the external hard drive was switched on from the enclosure when the computer was started. I never really did anything about that, just left it off and turned it on when i needed it. Mind you, it and the computer still seemed to work fine.
Now i have decided to keep it internally. So, as soon as i booted up after connecting up the same drive, i'm going through these exact same blue screens again. I'm not 100% sure if that is the cause but signs point to it.
Here's the blue screen info:
The error message is:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
and the stop info is:
STOP: 0x0000000A (0x000000B0, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x82250B04)
and finally, here's the picture i took of the blue screen, a bit is cut of but i know it says "IRQL" on the left hand side.
I am getting the blue screen error.but it is not significant. happens anytime. sometims pc works 24 hours without error. somtimes it comes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently build a new Sandy Bridge computer to replace an older Conroe system. The new build retained the SSD (OS and programs) drive and the SATA data drives along with the existing Windows 7/64HP installation.I built an Asus P8Z68V Pro with an Intel i5-2500k and DDR3-1333 ram (12GB). I did not reinstall Windows 7/64HP. I had to tweak a few programs that had an issue with my substitute hardware, but otherwise it seems to run fine. However, I've had some crazy BSODs that seem to tie into grmnusb.sys. Yesterday I had 3 BSODs in a row that would happen as soon as I plugged in my Garmin Edge 305. The first happened while I was OCed. I rebooted and changed to default BIOS settings. Another BSOD when I reconnected the 305. So I uninstalled the Garmin USB driver and rebooted. Another BSOD when I connected the 305.I finally just left the Edge 305 connected and rebooted the computer and it came up ok and let me access the data on the device in a normal manner. And yet on the same system, I've had a number of times I've plugged the Garmin device in with no issues at all. When I first built the box (a couple of weeks ago) I had a BSOD from the Edge 305 connection, again with the gmnusb.sys tie-in. I rebooted, uninstalled the affected usb driver and all was ok for a time. And then the Garmin didn't want to connect so I re-installed the Garmin usb driver and all was well for a time.. and then, here we go again. Before I go though the routine of uploading the BSOD jcgriff zip files, I want to see if this is a known issue related to Z68 boards, or perhaps because I didn't re-install Windows 7 for the new hardware or if it's because computers just don't like me for some reason.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've built a new system only a few weeks ago. Sometimes i have a bsod " PFN_LIST_CORRUPT" releated to "ntoskrnl.exe", i've tested the RAM with memtest for 10 pass with no error. Reset bios done and no oc.I'm having problems finding out what the problem is. I have uploaded the minidump.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been having some serious trouble with my computer and CTD's and BSOD's related to what im fairly certain is something to do with my graphics card.
Long story short I've had repeated Service Exception BSOD'd for the past 2-3 weeks. In that amount of time I've run memtest to see if maybe my memory was to blame but that turned up nothing. I used driver sweeper to remove my nvidia drivers and put a fresh install on, and yet it still crashes.
I'm at my wits end here, normally its simply a matter of bad memory or a bad driver, but with this I have no clue what to do.
This Dell Vostro is 2 years old, it has Windows 7 installed. When the internal wireless card is turned on, it connects alright for about 5 minutes and then the computer will BSOD or Black Screen then restart. Ethernet works fine.It has a strange behavior history. Before reformat, I ran Malwarebytes which detected malware in Adobe CS5, after clearing that up it stopped BSODing for a day of constant use. Then the wireless card stopped working at all. Windows could not even detect it for a few days. After the Windows reformat and reinstall it started working for half a day. Had the latest Dell driver installed for it.Today it BSOD's and Black screens after a few minutes. We have to turn off the radio toggle to keep it from crashing Windows. There was liquid spill about a month and a half ago. It was about an 1/4 cup of wine, attended to promptly. Within seconds of the spill it was shut down and put in front of a dehumidifier for a few days and turned upside down. It is possible it corrupted the card or card slot, but we have no other issues with the computer. I don't suspect this but it is worth mentioning. Our next step is to purchase a new card, examine for corrosion on the slot or card, but.......I have to say I still suspect a software conflict.
What has already been done:
Reformated and reinstalled Win 7
Uninstalled and reinstalled the card drivers
Updated all service packs and win updates.
XP 32 bit. Has since had the drive reformatted. The Operating System was a student upgrade version but is now a full retail version (I called Microsoft Support a while back)System is approximately 1 and a half years old (Graphics card only seven months) It is self-built.OS is seven months old. I reinstalled the OS MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT (whatmpted me to call MS) but the BSODs persisted.AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black EditionXFX Radeon 6870 1GBASUS M4A88T-M AM3 AMD 880G XFX 550W Core Editionrus Software: Malware Bytes Anti-Malware AND MSE OFCCPU-Z Validator 3.1(For a little more information)I was receiving constant blue screens throughout the month of December, and after having replaced my HDD and RAM (which didn't fix the problem) I RMA'd my processor back to AMD. I received the new processor in early January and went a full month without any problems. As of a few days ago the bluescreens have returned in full force. At this point I'm thinking it's a problem with the motherboard. But I'm posting here to make sure before I try to RMA something again. While I wait for a reply I will run memtest and a HDD diagnostic.EDIT: Also, I think it's worth noting that motherboard does not seem to be able to provide a steady current to the Vcore. If I set the Vcore to 1.35, it will fluctuate between 1.32-1.35.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been getting BSOD's with the POOL_CORRUPTION_IN_FILE_AREA reason and once or twiceMEMORY_MANAGEMENT. I ran memtest86+ and no errors were reported. BlueScreenView shows that it's ntoskrnl.exe causing the crashes. The crashes recently have been happening quicker (1-2 hours) with uTorrent running, and if I load uTorrent after the crash reboot, it crashes almost immediately. In the past, it would crash every couple of days right after clicking on a button in any program.
