My "w,a,s,d,e,spacebar" are not working in Games or applications.I recently used the program joytokey, which I had assigned these keys to a controller. After noticing the problem I deleted joytokey, and the problem still happens.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Win7 won't let me run certain applications or .exe files, mainly games. Some it does and some it doesn't for no apparent reason. I've got 3 HDDs (2 int, 1 ext) and I've tried running it from all three and still nothing. The same thing happens everytime, I try to run it, the loading icon appears and then nothing. No error message and no apparent cause. My hardware can take it, I've got the correct DX and nothing.I've tried running it as an admin to no avail and I've tried running it in safe mode. When this happened the application loaded but said I needed to get DX 9.0 (Which I have) and enable hardware acceleration (which it is).
View 9 Replies View RelatedLet me first accurately describe what happened. So one of my HDDs failed (I got a new one, a Western Digital Caviar Blue 640gb). I had lot's of applications and games installed on the failed HDD, but nothing important. Now, when I go to re-install those games/apps again, some of them act as if they were installed, and attempt to uninstall (the hard drive failed so it was unable to uninstall the correct way). So, it will not let me re-install those programs, until I uninstall them. They are unable to uninstall because they cannot find "Drive D:," which is the failed drive, and they are probably still somewhere in my computer's registry, but the install directories are gone with the failed drive. How to reinstall my programs again. I am on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I have a new ASUS laptop which has been working fine since I have got it, I used to have a gaming computer. For some random reason now, this has only started happening today, when I go to follow a hyperlink in any Microsoft Office program, steam or skype it doesn't follow, it doesnt do anything at all. If I try to use a hyperlink in a email in Microsoft Outlook it says I don't have the administrative rights to do this. I am the only user of the laptop D:I don't know what I've done to make this happen, I remember this happened to me before on Windows 7 Home Premium before on my PC D:?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the latest Firefox and Flash Player installed. But some applications just don't run at all. For example, videos on [URL] just show a black screen. And this site is remains completely blank: thisissand.com. These applications do work fine on Internet Explorer, but no matter what I try, it won't work on Firefox. Some other things, like Flash movies on [URL] work just fine on Firefox. I've already tried re-installing Flash. Tried an older version of Flash. Tried disabling Flash safe mode. Nothing changes.

I've tried creating other shortcuts but none of them will work either. I have logged out and back in, restarted, shutdown and booted again. I am still unable to create a working shortcut. I've tried several key combinations thinking there may be a conflict.Has anyone had the same problem and found a solution?

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently my wife's HP G62 laptop running Home Pro 7 has started having am intermittent keyboard. At first I thought it was the wireless USB keyboard/mouse she had plugged into the machine, but the same happens with just the built in keyboard (the mouse seems to function fine). The problem is that randomly the keyboard will stop working in applications and won't work again until a reboot. The keyboard seems to work fine in safe mode and actually works fine for typing in things like the run box in the start menu, but it will cause firefox and microsoft office to hang. I cannot seem to find what is triggering this condition (coming out of sleep mode, etc.), but it sometimes can be fast, other times it can take a day until it happens again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I recently bought a n52te for gaming for my (windows 7) machine. I installed its drivers, plugged it in, worked great I loved it!Then after a reboot, both my regular keyboard (Razer Lycosa Mirror) and the n52te don't work in games only. But its ONLY when using the WASD keys to move around, if I go to chat in game, the keyboard works fine. Just using the WASD keys doesn't work, unless I tap the space bar, that usually makes you up, and if it doesn't make you jump, the WASD keys work again. the other keys on the keyboard, n52te and Lycosa, work such as the c, v, e, q, z, x, and many others.
If your confused, (like me) the WASD keys don't make you move even though they should, until you hit the space bar, then they (WASD keys) work until they get stuck moving me. I then have to press the key that moves me in the direction. ex. stuck going left, I have to hit the D key, then the space bar to be able to move again. But I can type just fine in games. Also this problem only occurs in games, no other applications. It seems to happen where a key is needed to be pressed, but does not type a letter (Flash games, Crysis, Various other games) But it works fine in a browser, or other writing app. to type
I have tried the following all with rebooting in between each try: (not in order)
reinstall driversuninstall driversunplug, restart, plug in (let windows find its drivers)use on another comp. (it worked, its NOT the keyboard)use a different keyboard on my comp. This produced the keyboard.Only using one keyboard/input device at a time.
I have got a 64-bit processor and am running home premium 64-it, however i am getting anoyed with some of the old software, and also some games (generaly old ones) not working properly or not starting. I was supplied with a 32 bit version of windows and was wondering whether this software would work if i was running a 32 bit copy of windows or is it the fact that i have a 64 bit processor the thing that makes running the software. I am a bir of a novice at this kind of area but not completly illiterate when it comes to using a computer. Would dual booting be the solution, i don't want to have to wipe the hard drive and would like to keep the 64 bit versions as the main boot. Would insalling on an external hard drive be a good solution.

When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. It's imposible to play games that require the insertion of the disc into the CD Rom Drive, for the same reason.Im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have a LG Super Multi RwDVD +R DL Light scribe multirecorder.
View 1 Replies View Relatedok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.

Whenever I certain gaming program run in the background (not in focus) the applications seem to shift back and forth from from "Running" and "Not Responding" almost like it constantly refreshes itself (every 3 or so seconds). However, if I keep one of those programs in focus, the problem doesn't occur as often. The task bar always seems to be moving as a result of this (almost doing a dance if I open enough programs that have this problem).I've tried updating drivers, installed all service packs, scanned computer with Malware Bytes, Norton.I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit 6.1 (7061), ATI Mobile Radeon HD 5650

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn some nights my computer works perfectly fine, I can surf the net without incident, open applications, play games etc and everything appears to be fine.Then there are the other nights (which are increasing in frequency) where the computer boots up fine but then I run into application after application which refuses to load - I will click on the application and the "loading" icon will appear on screen and then just stay there.The only way out is to cntrl-alt-delete and bring up task manager, but this can also then refuse to either load or - if it does - will not respond when I click on the first offending application in an attempt to close that down.I also noticed on the last few nights that when trying to start a particular game clicking on the icon would appear to have activated nothing - yet when I attempted to start it again I would get a message saying that I couldn't start the game until the one I had running had been shut down - but nothing appeared to be running.My computer was built in January of this year. I have regularly run disk cleanups etc and run virus checks at least once a week and nothing shows up.
