Jun 30, 2011At first, when I checked this on this new rig, file transfers ran between 60-100 mbps, but the last several times it has dropped off to 1-2 mbps. I checked the drive involved with HD Tune, and it performed about the same as it did on the first test, so I don't think that it is a hardware problem. Nothing else was running that should slow things down, so what else could account for this?

Dec 29, 2011I just want to be able to increase the speed of my fans beyond their spec, and have complete manual control over their RPMs without a care about the temps. I have a liquid cooling setup and the fans on my radiator as they are right now simply aren't cutting it. I have them hooked up to the motherboard in hopes of finding something to just boost their speed via software, but SpeedFan is the only thing I could find and it simply sucks for that purpose.

Mar 8, 2011So I recently bought a n52te for gaming for my (windows 7) machine. I installed its drivers, plugged it in, worked great I loved it!Then after a reboot, both my regular keyboard (Razer Lycosa Mirror) and the n52te don't work in games only. But its ONLY when using the WASD keys to move around, if I go to chat in game, the keyboard works fine. Just using the WASD keys doesn't work, unless I tap the space bar, that usually makes you up, and if it doesn't make you jump, the WASD keys work again. the other keys on the keyboard, n52te and Lycosa, work such as the c, v, e, q, z, x, and many others.
If your confused, (like me) the WASD keys don't make you move even though they should, until you hit the space bar, then they (WASD keys) work until they get stuck moving me. I then have to press the key that moves me in the direction. ex. stuck going left, I have to hit the D key, then the space bar to be able to move again. But I can type just fine in games. Also this problem only occurs in games, no other applications. It seems to happen where a key is needed to be pressed, but does not type a letter (Flash games, Crysis, Various other games) But it works fine in a browser, or other writing app. to type
I have tried the following all with rebooting in between each try: (not in order)
reinstall driversuninstall driversunplug, restart, plug in (let windows find its drivers)use on another comp. (it worked, its NOT the keyboard)use a different keyboard on my comp. This produced the keyboard.Only using one keyboard/input device at a time.
Some Games Not Working Properly Or Not Starting
Aug 13, 2010I have got a 64-bit processor and am running home premium 64-it, however i am getting anoyed with some of the old software, and also some games (generaly old ones) not working properly or not starting. I was supplied with a 32 bit version of windows and was wondering whether this software would work if i was running a 32 bit copy of windows or is it the fact that i have a 64 bit processor the thing that makes running the software. I am a bir of a novice at this kind of area but not completly illiterate when it comes to using a computer. Would dual booting be the solution, i don't want to have to wipe the hard drive and would like to keep the 64 bit versions as the main boot. Would insalling on an external hard drive be a good solution.

Feb 17, 2012Running win 7 64, when i try to download something as simple as live essentials installer, or itunes setup, the dialogue box comes up and it won't let me open from that location, just save. Trying to save it fails until I hit retry, but the downloaded file prompts the "open with" box. This is a brand new machine and install. The only thing I really did was follow the tutorial on here to move the default locations for my files. Oh, and if I transfer the file from a zip drive, it works fine.

Jan 2, 2012The problem I am having is that new computers (direct from manufacturer) are not processing the answer file correctly I have the file set to delete the partitions and build new ones but it does not do so. What I have to do is manually delete the existing partitions that come loaded and once I have done that I reboot and then my partitions prepare correctly. How can I make this work so that it deletes and builds the partitions correctly.

Feb 27, 2011Yesterday I updated Windows 7 x86 to SP1 and today found out that all my local virtual hosts has stopped working. First, I checked apache service - it was ok, but I restarted it. Then I tried to ping one of local domain names:

File Sharing Over Remote Desktop Not Working?
Jan 3, 2013I have two laptops an ASUS with windows 7 ultimate and the other with windows 7 home premium. I also have a built desktop with windows server 2008 r2. I have enabled remote connection on the server and can log on with all of the user accounts. But I can not file share when I have remotely connected to the desktop using remote desktop connection. I have enabled printer and clipboard and then went in to more and selected the drive i wanted to share. I then logged on to remote desktop and the drive is not listed in computer management or in my computer. Is it an issue in the windows server os that I need to do?

Sep 5, 2012In windows XP I remember I could specify whatever I remember of a file and I could get straight to the file I was looking for, I could only remember a range of dates, an approx size, tow or three file extension... and thats it.. the search in windows 7 is good, but only for looking files that you know are there and you just want to save time scrolling down until get it. I am looking for an audio file (a recording of a conversation). I don't remember the name (probably the default name the recorder put on it [there fore must be hundreds of files with the same names but in different folders). The specs I remember from the file, or what I am sure it is are:
Size between 1mb and 20mb
Create and or modification date: between 2008 and 2010
File type: wav, mp3, qcp or amr (i don't remember if i convert it, if i edited it... )
In windows xp I would have found the file, but in this windows 7 something CANT be so simple and when it is forced to be, it doesn't work properly. When I try to use the "So Super duper" simple all mighty space for searches in the upper right corner... it only give me options for (despite the name itself ...) "modified date" and "size". How do I chose a range of date, a range of size various fiile type? Why its so complicated in windows 7?

Feb 6, 20113 days ago, access through my laptop on my home network to my main pc suddenly stopped working. i installed and changed nothing, as a result i wiped both the laptop and pc and reinstalled Win 7 Enterprise and Win 7 Ultimate respectively and i am still getting the " you do not have permission to access ---" i have taken ownershp, turned off password enabled sharing etc to fix this and nothing has worked. the only clue i have is that it may actually be an issue with the shared drive (storage) as viewing the shared drive over the network, the properties of the drive show up as 0 bytes/files.
