I have a liquid cooling setup and the fans on my radiator as they are right now simply aren't cutting it. I have them hooked up to the motherboard in hopes of finding something to just boost their speed via software, but SpeedFan is the only thing I could find and it simply sucks for that purpose.

1- I have 16GB of ram in my system, the pagefile is set to automatic at 16gb, is that overkill ?? Should i bring it down to 6-8 ?? I have a SSD drive that i install everything on it so the only reason i want to do that is to save some space.I know i can change the location of the pagefile but if ever windows need's it, it would be faster on the SSD ..
2- Can i Ghost my SSD as a backup ??? I am looking at threads that tells people not to ghost ssd drives for some reason i can't understand.
I just completed a HTPC build consiting of a small ITX form factor case and ASUS CPU/Mobo ITX combo. All I have plugged in is a USB keyboard, mouse, and ethernet (well then of course the HDMI cable to my TV).I have the power settings set so when I push the power button the PC goes to SLEEP. Problem is in the morning I usually wake up to the thing turned back on.No other power saving features have been customized other than the "choose what the power button does" and the rest is set to the Windows default "Balanced" power features. When I push the power button it's usually to go to bed so the mouse and keyboard are undisturbed during the night.I've scoured the settings and I cannot find anything that may cause the machine to wake up unannounced.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am after some help with getting this working. I have multiple test PCs within the company I work for and we are soon to be creating Windows 7 test images.I currently use a Bart PE disk I built with a copy of Ghost 8 and would like to stick with this method as there are over 40 PCs all of which have multiple images, therefore would be too much work to recreate the images for a different program. I can take a successful image ( disk to image ) but upon restoring the image I get a inaccessible boot device.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had some kind of problem with my Ghost 15 installation. I kept giving me this message that it couldn't communicate with my computer? Probably had something to do with getting a new external hard drive for my backlups.
I finally decided to just reinstall it, to reset everything. It told me that I had to uninstall it first. I did that and it still kept telling my I had to uninstall.
I ran Revo Uninstaller. It still kept telling me I had to uninstall it before I could reinstall it.
I finally found the Norton Removal Tool and after running that it would let my reinstall.
When I started it, it said I didn't have permission to run it, even when I logged in as Administrator. I found the instructions that said I had to uninstall it again, run the reset permissions tool, and then reinstall it again.
I think I did that, (it's weird takes me to a page with no active buttons and I have to click at the top of the screen giving permission to install something, then nothing) now it still tells me that I don't have permission to configure Ghost when I start it.
I'm about ready to give up and switch to another program, I've run Ghost for years, but this is crazy. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, I have the UAC turned off, I don't know what else I can do.

View 3 Replies View Relatedafter reading that I should have an external backup, I bought a Nexstar 3 USB 3.0. compatible with USB 2.0. This in part as I lost my last Computer during an electrical storm about thirty miles away. I just want to back up about once a week.I also bought Norton Ghost. Norton Ghost seeming to be working ok. Question: why do I need it? Apparently with Windows 7 I can just transfer Data to the external disc. I have to ask this question as the instructions coming with Norton Ghost don't seem to have been written by a human being. I should like to uninstall Norton Ghost , reformat the external and start again. Is this OK?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this really annoying file in my library on windows 7 and I can't seem to delete it. I've tried the traditional ways of deleting it, dragging it to the the recycling bin, renaming it, copying and pasting it somewhere else and then trying, using software programs called "Unlcocker" and "CCleaner", and even going into the CMD prompt of my computer attempting to remove it from there; side note...(I'm not the best at using CMD commands and navigating through there, so maybe I've missed something). Ive also tried to run chkdisk command to see if it was some sort of registry error and I've also tried safe boot mode to see if I could simply delete it that way. The problem with this file is that my computer cant seem to find it on my hard-drive, its like the file doesn't exists, its just a icon in my pictures document.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI want to clone my existing laptop hard drive to a hard drive that I have encased as an external hard drive. My current HD is in two partitions - C: and D:. Norton Ghost told me that I would have to copy one partition at a time. Fine. After I copied C:, I went back to copy D:, but before beginning it says - warning/any existing data on the destination drive would be deleted. So how am I supposed to move one drive at a time? I don't want multiple partitions on my new HD if I can help it.
I went ahead and began copying D: onto my external drive, and when it was done, I now can't see that drive in Windows Explorer. In Disk Management I see the drive, but it looks like there isn't any data on it from the amount available. So it looks like I"m back to square one.
I'm in IT (surprise surprise) and I have extra hard drives coming out my ears. I want to move my Win RC x64 install to a larger hard drive.
Whats the easiest way to do this? I know its possible, I used to ghost XP machines at the local highschool (dont fret, they were all licensed).
I'm toying with the concept of making a fresh install, and doing something to the effect of a system restore to it, or something like that.
On a slightly less related note, my system is more powerful a machine than i ever expected to own two years ago. Its a core i7 machine with 12gb of ram and Windows 7 installed on a raptor. Why doesn't a fresh install of Windows 7 simply fly? Sure, multitasking can be done almost infinitely (lol), but there's literally no speed increase in app startup times, opening "my computer" or the device manager. None of it works as quickly or smoothly as i would have thought.
Also, again, where can i find a simple list of changes between RC and RTM?
I was able to fix the d3d problem I was having early it was the drivers of course.
However,I have encountered a new problem, and I am not able to know what the reason might me.
As you can see windows which are white will create a reflection/smudge sort of ghost image on the screen which is also affected in screenshots, so that would rule out the monitor being faulty. And the AMD drivers which is the version 12.11 -beta-
I want to use a very simple unattend file to image Windows 7 and deploy with Ghost. My issue is that I need the install to PROMPT me for a computer name, THEN have it perform the Unattend Join to the Domain. I am hoping to only need the Specialize and OOBE passes, but if I need more fine - this is my only issue.
If I let it select a randam PC name, then it joins the domain fine, but if I take out the computer "Tags" which seem to be the only way to get it to prompt, it has already tried to join the domain unsuccessfully. Please advise.. All over the net people are having this problem.
I'm using the latest WAIK download. Here is my unattend file: THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP. I don't know why my file came out in backwards order, but I don't believe that matters, it still will do the specialize pass first.
