View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are a lot of questions about this and none of the proposed solutions seems to work for me. Now that MS has moved on to the 2013 version of the software, it still does not work on 2010. What did people do? Here is the problem have a .pst file from Outlook 2007 on an old computer. I want to use that same .pst file on a new computer running Outlook 2010. I want all my new mail to go to the old .pst file and nowhere else. Now here is what I've tried and what seems to happen:When starting O'2010 it needs your email address. I create that but then it creates a new .pst file named myname@mydomain.com.pstAnd it creates it in C:/Users/myname/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook. If I try to move the new .pst file to the folder entitled C:/Users/myname/Documents/Outlook Files, then when I restart Outlook it recreates the deleted .pst file back in the AppData folder
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had completed a beautiful 82-slide PowerPoint presentation, but the wav file I embedded was HUGE (about 200 MB) and not to my choosing. I just had to have the music a certain length to span across 82 slides. Is there ANY WAY to reduce the size of this music wav file (so that it conforms to the 50 MB max file size for PowerPoint). I would rather embed this music file than to have a link.

View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night, my computer rebooted itself unexpectedly while I was accessing a Word document. I was constantly saving the document, so I expected that it would come back up when the computer rebooted. Every time I try to open it in Word, it says that the file is corrupt and cannot be read. I have tried the Open & Repair function. I have also tried the Extract Text from All Files function. When I did the latter, the document came up to about 1,000 pages worth of different codes. When I open it in WordPad, the most recent things I saved did not come up. I am absolutely sure that I saved what I was working on. Is there any way I can fix this corrupt file? It is a crucial part of an assignment.

When I click on a hyperlink within a trusted e-mail it says "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I am the administrator but cannot get this to work. This has happened since I updated my IE a few months ago. I have tried the usual fixes but not registry key fixes as I try to leave them alone. Is that the only solution or is there something else out there? Should I remove IE9 and start over?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the Find and Replace window (Ctrl+h) in Word 2010, alt+a is Replace All. I use this ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. For the third time in the last year, this has now stopped working. Alt+R works (Replace), Alt+F works (Find), just the one that I REALLY NEED doesn't work.I have found the solution the last two times it happened, but now I can't find it for the life of me. It had something to do with the keyboard, I think it was something to do with the accessibility tab or the driver or something, but I can't find it now. I uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard, I deleted the Normal.dotm file, all to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe last system change I made to Excel was to be able to open files as an Administrator. I managed to do that but I don't know how to reverse this. So why am I concerned? Ever since I did this I have not been able to open the specific file involved with the open-as-admin. After several attempts, I did get an error indicating that the file caused serious errors the last time is was opened.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded my Outlook 2010 ANSI .pst file to an Unicode format by creating a new .pst and importing data from the old .pst. I want to delete the old .pst, but I get the error message "You cannot delete this Outlook data file. Configuration information in the file is being copied to your new default data file. You can delete the file after this information is copied."I don't think information is being copied, as I've waited to see if it would resolve, but I do think that there is still some connection to the old .pst file that is preventing deletion. I have changed the folder of my email accounts' storage location to the new Unicode .pst. What else do I need to do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have three email accounts with gmail connected to outlook 2010. Sadly the PST file contains all the emails from my email addresses and since I hate deleting emails the PST files are huge. Is there a way to set up outlook so it only goes back X ammount of time for storing email on my system and have some other way to access anything older?Right now I have 10 GB's of files on my laptop and I am sure my desktop to. So I would much rather shrink that down as much as possible, if not then I can move the files to a none OS HDD, but with my laptop at least hard drive space is somewhat limited.

How do I go about setting up Outlook to use the saved .pst without creating a new one? I have searched online but have had no luck. While the old computer was being reset, I installed Outlook onto laptop and could merge the old and new .pst files but the calendars, contacts, and rules did not migrate over. I would like to avoid this problem on the desktop computer.

When I type, the letters just keep going on and on to the right. If I look at the "print display" it shows the letters correctly on the page.If I customize the margins the same thing happens --- the margins do not stop the letters from just going on one line to the right into infinity. So, therefore, I do not have a WYSIWYG page view. How do I get the margins to work properly?

I've been using Contact Groups on previous computer, but when I moved over to my new PC and loaded Office 2010 along with Outlook, the contacts groups in OUtlook does not seem to work.
None of the groups I had before were imported, although I have imported all of the contacts themselves.
When I create a new Contact Group it seems to be fine - it allows me to create it, add some contacts, and save it. But, I go to create an email and want to use the contact group, nothing will come up as a group. Also, when I look directly into contacts folder there are no groups there.
