In windows mail, when selecting new stationery, a small applet would allow you to choose.
Something has changed on my m/c as now that applet opens in full screen, with no means of resizing the window.
I just bought a new laptop and am now using Windows Mail instead of Outlook Express. I have a backup of my stationery I used with Outlook Express. How can I add it to the Windows Mail stationery folder? I think I copied and pasted it in the wrong place because when I open up a new email, go to Format, stationery, I do not see my old stationeries there at all.

I couldn't find a way to resize the window so that the bottom edge was visible. (I had to close and restart Firefox and it was okay.) Was there a way to resize a window without dragging the edge or corner? I had no way to get to the edge. I right clicked on the title bar and selected Size.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to VISTA and discovered I didn't like Windows Mail because of the way the autofill thing works for the addresses. So, someone in this group told me to upgrade to Windows Live Mail. I did that and so far have been very happy with it. Except that, I can't find new stationery for the program. I love using cloudeight stationery and it was working on the windows mail, but not on windows live mail. I emailed and asked them about this and the following is their reply to me. Is this true? Is Windows Live Mail really Hotmail? I look forward to hearing back from someone about this.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to download some Windows Mail Stationery from the Microsoft site. showing up on my computer after I install it. At first I was just clicking on what I wanted, and then selecting to run. It went through and seemed to install normally. Note: I have UAC turned off. Also even though the download page says Windows Mail when it finishes installing it says Outlook Express. I have also tried installing it via clicking to save and then running after, along with right clicking it once downloaded and selecting to run as adminstrator (even though I am the administrator).
I know about the different storage folders. (I have the hidden folders viewable.) I have looked in both folders and the stationery that I just downloaded is nowhere to be found. Just to be sure I tried two different files and they both seem to install fine but don't show up anywhere. I have downloaded other Windows Mail stationery from another site and it puts it right where it's supposed to go and works fine. Is there something I'm missing here? Could there be another folder that it's installing into other than the two I know about? (the one under common files and the one under appdata - don't feel like typing the whole paths) I did see something about a Windows Live stationery folder but I don't appear to have that one on my computer.
1. How do I get certain windows in Vista to open to a different size? For example, I want the Uninstall or change a program window to open a little wider so I can see everything on each installed program line.
2. In my "Review your update history " window I have a Canceled status many Failed statuses from over 2 years ago to now. I only want the Successful updates attempts, how do I delete the others?

Earlier today I clicked a mailto for the first time in a week or so, and it tried to open Microsoft Outlook 2003, which is also installed on my machine, but not the default mail handler. Going into the Mozilla Firefox options, I found that for some reason it was defaulting to Outlook. I changed the setting to Windows Mail, but now instead of opening the new message window, it just opens Windows Mail.

I'm on using a widescreen monitor, with vista, it doesnt' resize the image to fit without stretching it. With XP, it would resize it while maintaining its proportions, but I can't seem to find a way to do that with vista.

When I scanned photos with XP on my HP1200 printer/scanner in Preview I could enlarge the photos. With Vista can't seem do that. Am I missing something here? I can scan in Paint or in Windows Photo Gallery, but in neither can I enlarge the photo.
Windows Mail gives you some pretty nice stationery but in the "Help" section it also tells you how you can download a lot more stationery. I followed the directions: Tools, Options, Compose, Stationery then Download More. When a new page comes up, I click on "Click on Download More Stationery Here" and I follow the directions. I must have tried this 5 times and I don't know where the stationery I chose goes. I can't find it anywhere. Where should I look for it and am I doing anything wrong? I have Windows Vista and use Windows Mail and Verizon if my ISP if you have to know these thing

Now AppData no longer appears and the Local folder is empty. Did the uninstaller cause this and is it necessary to have these items in the list? I now access my stationery folder in this way: C:program filescommon filesmicrosoft sharedstationery. Just curious about why the original path is no longer there and if AppData and Local folders are necessary for anything. If so, how do I get them back? First here is a snip of my desktop notice that computer is okay, I added the network, control panel and my folder, to show that they are okay as well also my quick launch has nothing but generic icons My start menu is the same, its about 50% generic When i try to change the icon back manually through the properties I get this the only one that does not give me this problem is impulse, but it still has the generic icon overlaying it. View 7 Replies View Relatedthis is my first enquiry but probably not my last :-) To cut a long story short (as my wife turned off the PSU to the PC when I wrote the whole thing out last time) I have a tablet PC with no bootable CD/DVD or floppy. I managed to install my XP tablet on a new HD by PXE creating a dos and 2 other partitions. I then upgraded to my new Vista Ult. and almost everything seems OK. I will post Q's re the incompatibilities later.
The problem is I made the DOS partition too big, 20gb, and now need to resize it down to 3gb to recover 17gb more for Vista (total size of disk 80gb). I went into management console as usual and tried to resize the C: partition but the options are greyed out. Parttions are Dos C: 20gb, Vista D: 46gb, Install files E: 10gb

1) What happens if my computer crashes and I am told I have to reformat the hard drive and re-install Windows? Am I forced to buy a new license?
2) What if I want to have a backup hard drive, or upgrade my existing hard drive to a bigger one? If it's the same computer and only the hard drive is upgraded or a second one added, does that mandate a new license?

It has been entered over and over. Rebooted, created new email account, verified username and password with server.
No avail. Still the pop up box appears and no outgoing mail is allowed. It is mac mail address and verizon but has worked perfectly for months.
