Aug 2, 2008when you write a new message in Windows Mail - by default it starts with Arial fonts. Can you change this default to your own particular liking and save it, so when you start a new message,it starts with your choice automatically?

Can't Find New Stationery For The Program In Windows Live Mail
Mar 23, 2008I recently upgraded to VISTA and discovered I didn't like Windows Mail because of the way the autofill thing works for the addresses. So, someone in this group told me to upgrade to Windows Live Mail. I did that and so far have been very happy with it. Except that, I can't find new stationery for the program. I love using cloudeight stationery and it was working on the windows mail, but not on windows live mail. I emailed and asked them about this and the following is their reply to me. Is this true? Is Windows Live Mail really Hotmail? I look forward to hearing back from someone about this.

Jul 29, 2009I finally found a fix for the above problem and you two surely deserve to know what it is. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer > Settings > I modified Always Use My Font Size from (1) to (0). Initially, I was doing my searching using the entire computer and it literally took hours. Since I knew that searching KEY_CURRENT_USERS was a waste of time (you had already suggested deleting Windows Mail), I only searched for key words using LOCAL MACHINE. This allowed me to shorten search times to a reasonalbe amount.

I have tried suggestions from IE going to options and then "general", but there is no place to change the size of the font.... Mar 17, 2009Last week I purchased my 1st laptop and thus entered the world of Vista after running Win XP home since it 1st came out. I'm a senior at 62, and my eyesight isn't the best anymore. I tried 1024x600 for larger font size but didn't like how graphics and Icons looked, so I went back to the default of 1288x600. My problem is the the font size including emails is just too small, so I'm forced to continually use Control + to increase it. Is there a way to change the font size so I don't have to do this. May 12, 2009I'm trying to download some Windows Mail Stationery from the Microsoft site. showing up on my computer after I install it. At first I was just clicking on what I wanted, and then selecting to run. It went through and seemed to install normally. Note: I have UAC turned off. Also even though the download page says Windows Mail when it finishes installing it says Outlook Express. I have also tried installing it via clicking to save and then running after, along with right clicking it once downloaded and selecting to run as adminstrator (even though I am the administrator).
I know about the different storage folders. (I have the hidden folders viewable.) I have looked in both folders and the stationery that I just downloaded is nowhere to be found. Just to be sure I tried two different files and they both seem to install fine but don't show up anywhere. I have downloaded other Windows Mail stationery from another site and it puts it right where it's supposed to go and works fine. Is there something I'm missing here? Could there be another folder that it's installing into other than the two I know about? (the one under common files and the one under appdata - don't feel like typing the whole paths) I did see something about a Windows Live stationery folder but I don't appear to have that one on my computer.
Possible Change The Mail Program That Comes With Vista. (Windows Mail?)
Nov 13, 2009I do not have Vista, or Windows Mail, or Hotmail, so I'm flying a bit blind here. I have an acquaintance who has Vista, but does all her emailing via Hotmail. Recently, she has had some problems with the Hotmail service, and she has asked me if it is possible for her to change to the mail program that comes with Vista. (Windows Mail?) The snag is, she would like to import the contents of of all her web-based Hotmail folders, (her email messages in other words), and her Hotmail contacts into whatever email program she changes to.
1. Would this be possible with Windows Mail, or does she need to write off all her Hotmail stuff and start again from scratch?
2. If it is not possible with Windows Mail, is it possible with any other email client, such as Thunderbird or similar?
Find The Font Folder, So That I Can Copy A Font Onto A Disk
Feb 23, 2009I am trying to find the font folder, so that I can copy a font onto a disk to put onto my laptop. In other versions of Windows its C:windowsfonts, which it appears to be in Vista, but once in C:Windows I cannot find the fonts folder. If I go through the control panel to the fonts folder it will not let me copy the front from there. It will let me right click the font to copy, but not let me paste onto a memory stick. I have already got into Folder options and made sure that Hidden files are visible.

When I changed it back, the Send/Receive window that shows incoming and outgoing mail popped up far to the left of the Windows Mail window, instead of right above it where it has always been. I re-started the computer, but that did not fix the problem. I want to get the Send/Receive window to pop up where it used to--it is currently nconvenient for viewing.
