Setting Up Email: Can Not Get Windows Mail To Accept Gmail Account
May 24, 2009I can not get windows mail to accept my gmail account. I have set it up many times the exact way I am showed how, but I can not get it to take. I keep getting a message the it can not verify my credentials.

Apr 22, 2009I've read several other similar threads but can't solve this. I can't get my outgoing pop3 mail to send through Gmail in Windows Mail. I've repeatedly checked instructions as given through many sites to make sure all the right ports are typed in for Gmail, all the right boxes checked. I even unchecked the box someone suggested in the Norton security outgoing mail filter, and I still get this message:

Email Setting In Outlook Won't Allow Email
Jun 28, 2008I'm having a problem with my MS Office suite 2003 on my new PC (Belarc analysis below). Two issues that have been coming up for me are that my email settings in Outlook won't allow me to bring in my email (IMAP/SMTP set up) and the second is that any time I try to change my office assistant it keeps telling me I don't have enough memory (!). What's going on with this? After all, this is a 3 GB machine, things that worked on my 1 GB shouldn't have a problem.
I use a Verizon DSL connection.

Sep 26, 2009I have verizon 1 main account and 2 sub accounts. I was able to set the 2 sub accounts up with no problem but the main one for the life of me I can't figure out how to get it set up. It keeps giving me a port 110 error which I am understanding is a known issue. Has anyone else been able to get it fixed or know where I can look to fix it. I really need this set up and its driving me crazy.

I filled in POP3 on the first part of the server dialogue box and SM(P?)T on the second box. These were complete random guesses as I have no idea what they mean or what the correct ones are, far less how to find them. Why do they have to make these systems so difficult? Apr 29, 2010When I have internet explorer open I used to be able to click on the upper right hand side of the screen in the little mail icon and outlook would open. Now when I click on it nothing happens. The only way to get to my email now is to click on the bottom left hand side, start and scroll up to email. Has a setting been changed?

So far as I am aware I've followed all the printed instructions but still can't get the account to work. Step by step this is what I've done:
1 clicked Tools>Accounts>Add
2 (a) on the Properties>General Page I've typed my wife's name in Mail Account
(b) in User Information I've put her name
(c) in Email Adress I've put her name xxxxxxxxxx@btinternet.com
(d) ticked 'Include this account when receiving mail or synchronising'3 on the Servers Page:
(a) Incoming Mail POP3 I've entered mail.btinternet.com
(b) Outgoing Mail SMTP I've entered mail.btinternet.com
(c) in Email User Name I've entered my wife's name (not the email address)
(d) when I try to enter a password the space is grayed out..............

Aug 23, 2009My system restore fails every time I attempt it. This has happened the last 3 times I had a need to attempt restore. (Three attempts separated by months in time, about different issues.) This time, I am thinking something may be wrong with my system restore function.
In this case, it is simply a matter of trying to roll back a browser update.
I saw a whole list of available restore points, and I went to the second one back - from only a few days ago. The restore failed.
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium, OEM from Gateway Laptop about 1.5 yrs old. I allow most updates.

May 25, 2009About a week ago, I realized I could no longer send email. Same goes for my laptop on my home wireless network. Everything has been working fine for years and I don't recall making any changes that might affect the email. I have changed to port 587 and checked the authenticity required box but it didn't do any good. I went through Comcasts instructions for setting up email using Windows Vista, but it's still a no go. Another suggestion I read about is email scanning software. I turned of Norton 360 email scanner but it didn't fix the problem.
